"Comprehensive Asset Management but Complex Setup"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I like the centralized asset visibility that ServiceNow IT Asset Management provides, which serves as a single source of truth for all hardware and software assets, eliminating the need for multiple tools and manual tracking. The integration with incident and change management is especially useful as it allows me to quickly access asset details during troubleshooting and helps in understanding dependencies when implementing changes. The automated lifecycle tracking significantly improves efficiency and reduces manual work, adding value to our daily IT operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

The initial setup and configuration can be complex and time-consuming. Additionally, the UI can feel slightly overwhelming at times due to the number of features and options available. Enhancement in UI simplicity and more out-of-the-box templates for asset workflows could make adoption easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid Asset Management Tool That Saves Time and Effort"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

Before using IT Asset management , our hardware and software inventories lived in different places, and we often relied on outdated spreadsheets. With ServiceNow, everything is in one place and updates automatically. I especially appreciate how easy it is to track the full lifecycle of an asset from procurement all the way to retirement without having to chase people for information.

Another thing I genuinely like is the way it ties into other ServiceNow modules. When an incident comes in, I can quickly see which device is involved, who owns it, and its warranty details. It saves a lot of back‑and‑forth and reduces the guesswork that usually slows support teams down.

Overall, it just helps us stay organized. Instead of wasting time searching for asset details, we can actually focus on fixing issues or planning ahead. That’s the part that stands out the most for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

The platform is powerful, but that also means the setup and configuration can take a lot of time, especially if you’re not deeply familiar with the ServiceNow ecosystem. Sometimes even small changes require digging through multiple menus or relying on admins who understand the backend better.

Also, the UI, still feels a bit heavy at times. Simple tasks can involve more clicks than you’d hope for, and performance can slow down if there’s a lot of data on the instance.

Overall, it does the job well, but the learning curve and occasional complexity can be frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The new reporting tools and dashboards give organizations a clearer picture of how assets are being used, whether they're compliant, and what they cost. Moreover, it connects seamlessly with discovery and cloud management tools, offering more precise asset inventories while cutting down on manual tasks. This ultimately boosts operational efficiency across the board.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

ServiceNow IT Asset Management offers a thorough and easy-to-use solution. Still, opportunities exist to make it even better. For instance, improving the ability for users to customize reports could offer more flexibility in creating specific dashboards and reports with minimal effort. Moreover, if some of the complex setup and integration steps were simpler, new users might find it easier to learn the system. Also, advancements in automation, predictive analytics, and AI-driven recommendations could significantly enhance asset utilization and decision-making for organizations.

"Highly Customizable, Expensive for Smaller Enterprises"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I like how ServiceNow IT Asset Management makes it very easy to track assets and raise tickets when issues occur. The configuration for managing assets is highly customizable according to our needs, and it simplifies the maintenance of every asset. It's also tailored well for different client approaches to asset management, allowing us to design it according to specific client requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

It costs on a higher side which becomes difficult for certain clients to procure licenses. Due to its cost, it is suited for a large enterprise rather than a small or mid size enterprise. Also, it needs additional licenses to use certain features which comes with an extra cost. It was a bit difficult to configure it from scratch. It needs an expert as it is a bit complex to setup. "Transforming Employee and Asset Management Through Automation and Visibility"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

What I like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management is its ability to provide centralized visibility and control over the entire asset lifecycle, from procurement to retirement. The platform helps streamline asset tracking, automate workflows, and improve compliance, which significantly reduces manual effort and operational inefficiencies. I also appreciate the strong integration capabilities with CMDB, procurement, discovery, and ITSM processes, allowing teams to make more informed decisions based on accurate asset data. The reporting and lifecycle insights help optimize hardware and software usage while reducing unnecessary costs. Overall, it enables better governance, operational efficiency, and a more scalable approach to managing enterprise assets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

One challenge with ServiceNow IT Asset Management is that the implementation and ongoing maintenance can become complex, especially in large enterprise environments with multiple integrations and data sources. Maintaining clean and accurate asset data requires strong governance and continuous process discipline, otherwise reporting and lifecycle tracking can become unreliable. Some licensing and software asset management capabilities also require significant customization and expertise to fully optimize. In addition, certain workflows and user interfaces can feel overly complicated for occasional users or smaller operational teams. While the platform is very powerful and flexible, maximizing its value often requires substantial time, resources, and platform knowledge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible and Efficient with Some Setup Challenges"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I like the ease of maintenance and the elasticity of the products that connect into IT Asset Management. I also appreciate the enablement of CSDM journeys. Asset records having business meaning across the offerings make the system much more cohesive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I find managing a large landscape of assets with ServiceNow IT Asset Management can become technically cumbersome. Handling multiple asset types, service mappings, and CSDM journeys requires niche skills. Also, configuring spokes for bespoke software during the initial setup wasn't easy. "Comprehensive Asset Tracking with a Learning Curve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I like having a source of truth for asset tracking with ServiceNow IT Asset Management. It's great being able to kick off workflows around the retirement of devices and during problems. Having a central place for our asset data in a raw and unfiltered manner gives us better information to make decisions from. Using this information for device retirement, replacement, and kicking off break-fix requests allows us to fast-track our request processes. The initial setup of the tables was easy, which is also a plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

It takes quite a bit of time to transform and manage data from outside sources. The end result is great, but the journey to get there can be painful. Initial setup of the tables was easy, data transformation was hard but isn't really an issue with the solution more the need to have clean data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Asset Management with Seamless Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

I like the ability to integrate ServiceNow IT Asset Management with other components of ServiceNow, specifically the IRM module. This integration is valuable because it allows me to create entities in IRM off of CMDB records, which is invaluable. Additionally, I find the ability to create 'entity types' in IRM based on attribute information in the CMDB makes scoping of risks and controls so much easier and time-efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Asset Management?

There isn't out of the box automation to update IRM entities (which are linked to CMDB assets) as those asset details change in CMDB. For IRM entities created from CMDB assets, those IRM entities (name, description, etc) should be automatically updated as the CMDB changes. Currently, a manual sync is required, which is not practical at scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
