"Highly Customizable, Boosts Adoption"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

I use ServiceNow App Engine primarily for building new customizations and integrations. It really helps with scoping permissions and custom third-party integration with ITSM. I appreciate the single interface it provides for our admins to work in, making everything more cohesive. I also like that the UI feels familiar, similar to Visual Studio, which makes adoption high among users. The ability to create everything and easily put all items in a scope is very valuable to me. Plus, the initial setup was pretty easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

I don't like how the AI tries to build without using the flow first approach. It would be better if it could utilize and build flow and other graphical items. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible App Engine with Strong AI-Assisted App Building for Non-Developers"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

App engine allows you a lot of flexibility when it comes to constructing applications. It has great features that help someone who is not a true developer bridge the gap to low level development. I think the AI enhanced development options where you explain outcome/use case is quite good at building out starting points for applications Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

App engine could benefit from helping you understand where you can add specific features into an app for user experience/polish. For instance, it can handle base file level creations but it won't recommend you to create a module for user accessibility/access to your app on the platform. This is a loose example Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, Efficient Ticket Management for IT Teams"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

I think ServiceNow App Engine is an easy application to use, especially for people who work in IT, like engineers and developers. It's not complicated like others, and I love when all the companies I've worked for use ServiceNow because it's easy to use and handles tickets very well. In my last company, I used it for remote control, and it was very nice. I like how it lets us open a ticket, contact others, and start a remote connection to a user's machine, allowing us to work without using any other application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

I think sometimes when we try to update the ticket, you have to click and save. The post or comment is sometimes not enabled. I need to add someone to the ticket so we can work together, but it only allows one owner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Low-Code Speed with Full Customization on ServiceNow App Engine"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

What I like best about ServiceNow App Engine is how it combines low-code simplicity with the flexibility of full customization. It allows me to quickly build and iterate on applications while still having the ability to integrate with complex backend systems and data pipelines. The platform significantly reduces development time for workflow-driven applications, especially when automating repetitive business processes or creating internal tools. I also appreciate how it enables collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders, making it easier to translate business requirements into scalable solutions without heavy overhead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

One of the main challenges with ServiceNow App Engine is that while the low-code approach accelerates development, it can sometimes limit flexibility for more complex or highly customized use cases. Debugging and troubleshooting can also be less intuitive compared to traditional development environments, especially when dealing with deeply nested workflows or integrations. Additionally, performance tuning and version control are not always as straightforward, which can make managing larger-scale applications a bit more difficult. The learning curve for fully understanding the platform’s capabilities and best practices can also be higher than expected for new users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful platform for building enterprise apps quickly!"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

It is basically the command center for all your app building needs. I love that it starts by guiding you through setup and I love that there are templates ready & available for your use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

I think it is built in a way for low code/no code development, but that tends to not get you where you want to be 100%. You usually need scripting at some point so I don't always see it as the full solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful enterprise development but expensive licensing."
3.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

ServiceNow App Engine stands out for its hybrid low-code/pro-code flexibility. It eliminates infrastructure overhead, letting you build enterprise apps rapidly with visual tools while giving professional developers JavaScript escape hatches. Because it sits natively on the platform, you get direct access to core business data without complex API integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

The biggest drawbacks of ServiceNow App Engine are its expensive, table-based licensing and severe vendor lock-in. Development feels constrained due to clunky DevOps, limited offline local development, and reliance on outdated server-side JavaScript. Additionally, the Next Experience UI Builder has a frustratingly steep learning curve compared to modern frontend frameworks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

What I like most about ServiceNow App Engine is that it helps teams build meaningful business applications quickly, without sacrificing strong governance, security, or alignment with enterprise workflows. It offers a solid balance of speed, flexibility, and reliability, so the development process feels both efficient and dependable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

What I dislike about ServiceNow App Engine is that the UI and overall user experience can feel complex and overwhelming, especially for new users. While it is very powerful, navigating configurations, forms, and platform concepts has a steep learning curve and often requires prior ServiceNow knowledge or guidance, which can slow down initial adoption. "ServiceNow App Engine: Fast, Secure Low-Code Apps with Deep Ecosystem Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

ServiceNow App Engine is an excellent low‑code platform for building enterprise‑grade applications quickly and securely. Its tight integration with the broader ServiceNow ecosystem (ITSM, CMDB, GRC, SecOps, etc.) is a major advantage because it lets us extend and enhance existing workflows rather than creating standalone solutions from scratch. The low‑code/no‑code capabilities, along with Flow Designer and reusable components, significantly reduce development time while still supporting complex business logic when needed. From a governance and compliance perspective, features such as role‑based access, audit trails, and centralized data management are especially valuable and help keep everything consistent and controlled. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

The learning curve can feel steep for new users, especially those who aren’t already familiar with the ServiceNow platform. Licensing costs can also be high, which may be a challenge for smaller teams or for use cases that don’t need the platform’s full capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
