"It's okay to be honest, but there's still a ways to go."

What do you like best about Sequel.io?

that it automatically switches to on-demand right away. makes it easier for operational setup Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequel.io?

I wish there was a direct hubspot<>sequel integration, where HubSpot can add a registrant to Sequel. Not to be mistaken with integrating a Hubspot form to a sequel form, that is easy. I mean, if we found people in our HubSpot CRM, then we can use a Hubspot workflow to "add to sequel as registrant." we had to create a custom webhook to get it done, and it was VERY finnacky and we had to get on customer support to set it up. Response from Clayton Stobbs of Sequel.io

Thank you for the review - we appreciate the feedback! We have some exciting updates on the near term roadmap for our Hubspot integration and I'd love to explore your ideal use case for registration flows. If you're open to a conversation, please reach out via chat and I'll get connected or send a note to support@sequel.io.

"Seamless Integration, Exceptional Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Sequel.io?

I find the level of support from the Sequel.io team to be incredibly responsive, which is great because the new features reflect our feedback. The support resources, especially short videos, are super helpful and aid a lot with team enablement. I also enjoy the user-friendly interface, which works well for both webinar speakers and admins. The integration with other platforms in our tech stack is seamless. Additionally, the initial setup was easy due to the great support from the Sequel.io team. It's pretty cool that we can have a branded experience for attendees as the webinars are live on our website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequel.io?

Some improvements in the reporting (like dashboards) and labeling for sorting and filtering would be great Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Webinar Integration with Great Support at a Reasonable Price"
5/5
What do you like best about Sequel.io?

Sequel.io enabled us to integrate our webinars directly with our website with an intuitive UI and at an incredibly reasonable price/with great support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequel.io?

Still missing some features, like the ability to transition webinars to on-demand automatically and still has some work to do on the UI, which has changed a couple times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Virtual Event Experiences for our Customers"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sequel.io?

Sequel.io has done a great job in making it seamless for embedding our webinars in our website, handling the registration, and making it easy to keep our customers engaged throughout our presentations. It handles a lot of the gotchas that a home-built solution would lack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequel.io?

The integration with our website built in Webflow is a little bit tricky, and has caused some difficulties in how we render the embed, meaning sometimes it's more difficult for customers to get a fullscreen experience.

Additionally, the limitation of only being able to use Google Chrome is unfortunate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kathleen Booth of Sequel.io

Thanks for your review. Replacing a patchwork of manual processes with something that handles registration, engagement, and the post-event experience in one place is exactly the kind of lift Sequel should be taking off your plate . Glad that's translating in practice.

On the Webflow embed and fullscreen rendering — this is worth a direct conversation with the team. We just released a native Webflow integration last week that may resolve the issues you're running into.

"Easy Webinar Management, but HubSpot Integration Needs Deeper Sync and Attribution"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sequel.io?

Sequel is simple, straightforward and easy to set up. The platform is also reliable for managing webinar registrants and attendees Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequel.io?

The integration with Hubspot could be better. For example, there could be more property syncs that happen automatically. It would be good if Sequel could also tap into multi-touch-attribution in Hubspot or other attribution tools to measure at which point of the customer journey are users engaging with webinars. "User-Friendly Platform with Customization Needs"
4/5
What do you like best about Sequel.io?

I use Sequel.io to host live webinars, like panel discussions and fireside chats with industry experts. I find it user-friendly and easy to navigate. As a host, I can manage the audience views, create polls, and easily toggle between stage- and public-facing chats. I like that Sequel.io lets me build multiple events and customize the components of each one within the same platform. I can also send emails to attendees, edit the landing page, and view analytics directly in Sequel.io. The setup was easy, and the team is responsive and always available to troubleshoot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequel.io?

There are some default features that would benefit from a customization option, like certain email templates. The local recordings sometimes take a while to upload after the event, which is inconvenient for the media team and for the speakers who have to keep their browser windows open after the live session has ended. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Clayton Stobbs of Sequel.io

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Running panel discussions and fireside chats with the host controls you're describing (audience view management, poll creation, toggling between stage and public chat) is exactly the kind of production flexibility that makes a difference when you're live with industry experts and things need to move quickly.

I appreciate your feedback on email template customization and local recording upload times. On local recordings, we've released several updates recently and upload times should now be minimal. For email templates, please reach out to our team so we can work with you on specific needs.

"Efficient Webinar Hosting with Room for Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Sequel.io?

I really like Sequel.io for its ease of use, making the whole process quite straightforward. The registration process is seamless and I find the automated emails sent from the platform to be very helpful. One of the standout features is how it keeps all our content on brand and allows direct connection to our participants without needing to export lists into a new system. Plus, the Sequel AI functionality makes it simple to repurpose webinar content for social media without the hassle of exporting, editing, and cleaning up the design. Another big plus is that it keeps our hosting on our website, so the traffic stays local. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequel.io?

Mostly just the recurring events have caused a bit of workarounds in the past. Just the features available with Sequel Series were advertised as coming to the legacy recurring events but it ended up being a brand new feature so it was disappointing and we weren't able to take advantage of Sequel Series for our recurring events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kathleen Booth of Sequel.io

Thanks for your review. Happy to hear that you're getting value from the AI content repurposing, registration and on-site hosting pieces.

On the Sequel Series situation, I understand the frustration and appreciate your feedback because it helps us handle those moments better going forward.

"Powerful Event Planner, with lots of scope for improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sequel.io?

The ability to create events once and then simply reschedule them to run on later dates without actually being there is a huge plus.

Finding these options can be a little tricky at first, but once you get a grasp of the features, it becomes really powerful. You can run an event every day without needing to record again or go live every single day.

The integrations are also pretty solid, for example, you can run events on Zoom.

That said, all of this does come at a price, and it can feel a bit premium if you don’t run events very often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequel.io?

The pricing can get a little expensive, there should be more plans and options for users that don't run frequent events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Elyssa Stewart of Sequel.io

Thanks so much for the thoughtful review! We're glad the simulive workflow is saving you time. It's also great to hear that Sequel has made onboarding easier and helped surface the product's full potential - that's exactly the experience we aim for.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share this level of detail - it's helpful feedback for our team. If you need any more assistance at all, don't hesitate to reach out to support@sequel.io :)

"Great analytics, but unreliable webinar access and audio issues drove us back to Zoom"
2/5
What do you like best about Sequel.io?

Creating emails for those who attended and who did not takes time, but with Sequel.io, that's part of the setup. The event analytics that appear after the event has ended is beneficial. You can visualize your top participants and see the chats that happened within the session. Within the list of participants of an event, there are filter options that are helpful. You can search for a name or email, add participants, or download the list to a csv. It integrates well with HubSpot so that I complete tasks there based on data from Sequel.io. I cannot speak to the AI component because I didn't use it. The onboarding for me was mainly reading through documentation and watching how-to videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sequel.io?

The first online event I held using Sequel.io didn't go very well. I usually have 75-100 people in each of my customer webinars. 7 or 8 of them in my first time using Sequel could not attend for one reason or another. Most of them were in the session but could not hear the presenters or see the shared screen. They were only able to interact with the chat window.

I had one customer who could not sign up for the event at all. The page just showed him that he did not have access.

The sessions do not remember your primary devices like microphone and camera, so remember to set those each time. At least, that's the behavior I experienced.

For one event, a presenter could not get the microphone to work at all. She had to clear her cookies to make it work again. This particular behavior had me reaching out to support two hours before the event. The only option I could find was chat support. There's no number to call.

The customers I work with have to utilize firewalls just because of the nature of their work. Support tried to help me troubleshoot why 7 of my customers could not join a session. They couldn't find a specific reason, but I believe it was a firewall issue. The answer to this problem is for the customer to use a mobile device that is not on the company's network or a hotspot. Not a great solution when you're showing in-depth information about a product.

Unfortunately, I had to go back to using Zoom. Other departments in my company still use Sequel.io, but I couldn't afford to have 7-10% of my customers not be able to register or attend webinars. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kathleen Booth of Sequel.io

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. This level of specificity is genuinely helpful, even when the experience it describes is one we wish had gone differently.

I'd love to connect and understand more about what happened - both because the firewall and access issues you described may have paths we haven't fully explored, and because if there's ever an appetite to give Sequel another look, I want to make sure the experience is different. Would you be open to a conversation? If so, please DM me on LinkedIn or email me at kathleen [at] sequel dot io and lets set up a time to chat.

Either way, I appreciate your feedback.
