"Easy-to-Use Semrush with Powerful Data and Smooth GA4 Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Our company loves how much information Semrush makes available to us. It’s been extremely easy to use, and it genuinely feels like there’s something new to discover on the platform each day. It also integrates well with GA4, so we feel confident our data is accurate, and we’ve had almost no issues with the product’s performance letting us down. We’ve rarely needed to reach out to support, but when we have, they’ve made the process very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The pricing is a bit frustrating for us, because there aren’t really good ways to bundle only what we actually need for our account. As a result, we end up paying for some products we don’t ever use. On the plus side, at least we know they’re available in the future if we end up needing them. It's also been hard with the development of AEO/GEO that they have their AEO abilities and AI searches separate from their main platform, but it goes back to pricing. "All-in-One SEO Powerhouse That Saves Time and Delivers Results"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

What I like most about SEMRush is that it puts keyword research, site audits, competitor insights, and ranking data all in one place. I use SEMRush almost daily for SEO and marketing, and it saves me a ton of time while helping me make better marketing decisions. The platform is very user-friendly, and if I ever need help, I can simply reach out to support. I also love that I can make changes to my business profiles and have them pushed seamlessly to other directories. Overall, you get the best bang for your buck with SEMRush, and the results are hard to beat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

As technology continues to evolve, I’d like to see more AI search and AEO reporting as search keeps changing. Better local SEO support and improved Google Business Profile insights would be great, too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Innovative AI Features and Outstanding UI/UX on Mac"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Great UI / UX. Love the new AI Visibility, especially the Perception and Narrative Drivers as it has allowed me to created really useful new FAQs and content that LLMs can pick up on with pre-training and inference.

I've connected it with Google Analytics and it makes it a joy to use. The Performance is terrific and snappy between sections; and I've dealt with the SEMrush team directly earlier on in the year to give them my views on AI integration and expansion. AHRefs of course is the competition, but I still feel SEMrush has the day-to-day edge and I'm not jumping ship. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

All the added and very expensive extras that could rope you into thou$ands of dollars a month if one wasn't careful. Really irks me that the Social side of Semrush is locked away into a VERY, expensive Extra. All the extras then just clog up the interface, leaving only the bare essentials on Guru product. "All-in-One SEO Powerhouse: Comprehensive Insights and Time-Saving Workflows"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

What I like most about Semrush is how comprehensive it is. Rather than switching between multiple tools, I can handle keyword research, competitor analysis, site audits, backlink monitoring, and content planning all in one platform. The Keyword Magic Tool and Organic Research features are especially valuable because they help me quickly spot content opportunities, understand search trends, and benchmark performance against competitors.

Despite the platform’s depth, the user interface feels intuitive, and the dashboards make it easy to pull up both high-level insights and more granular data when I need it. The site audit tool has been particularly useful for uncovering technical SEO issues that might otherwise go unnoticed, so I can prioritize fixes and improve site performance more efficiently.

I also appreciate how Semrush brings together AI-powered recommendations and competitive intelligence to surface opportunities I might not have found manually. Having SEO, content strategy, and performance tracking integrated into a single workflow saves me significant time and delivers strong value, which makes it easier to justify the investment and demonstrate ROI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

While Semrush is extremely powerful, the sheer breadth of features can feel overwhelming, especially for new users. There’s a real learning curve in figuring out where specific tools are located and how to use them effectively to get the most value from the platform. More guided onboarding, along with role-specific learning paths, would help users ramp up faster and feel confident sooner.

The interface is generally well designed, but certain reports and dashboards can come across as cluttered, which makes it harder to quickly surface the insights that matter most. Customization options do help, but I’d still like to see more streamlined workflows for common tasks so it takes fewer steps to get to the key takeaways.

From a pricing standpoint, Semrush is a significant investment. It delivers a lot of value, but smaller businesses and solo marketers may struggle to justify the cost, particularly when access to some features is locked behind higher-tier plans.

I’ve also noticed that some traffic estimates and competitive intelligence metrics don’t always align with actual performance data. Because of that, I treat them more as directional indicators than precise figures. Improvements to data accuracy, along with stronger AI-driven recommendations, would make the platform even more useful for strategic decision-making.

Finally, while Semrush integrates with many popular marketing tools, there’s still room to expand integrations and create a more seamless experience across a broader marketing and analytics ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Beginner-Friendly SEO Insights That Improved Our Rankings with Semrush"
4/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Semrush has helped us improve our SEO across the board. It provides weekly insights into our website’s technical performance through Semrush’s Site Audit, and it also supports our keyword research while helping us analyze our articles. Semrush's new AI Visibility Overview has also been a welcome addition to the platform.

Before switching to Semrush, we had to review articles manually, figure out which keywords mattered most, and check how our content compared with our competitors. For users with less of a technical background, Semrush is a very beginner-friendly way to get clear, actionable insight into potential improvements for your website. It's fast, legible and overall very user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I don’t really see any downsides, but I do think there’s still some room for improvement when using an international version of Semrush, especially the SEO Writing Assistant.

We’re a Dutch platform, and while Dutch is supported, the assistant sometimes flags words and sentences as being too difficult for our audience when, in reality, they’re terms that every Dutch person would understand. For example, the word “American” gets flagged quite often.

It’s a minor detail and it doesn’t affect my article, so I usually just ignore the suggestion. Still, looking ahead, I’d love to see a model that understands our language a bit better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Perfect tool for digital marketers if looking for all in one dashboard for Website, seo & content"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Site audit, a one-stop solution for starting the seo optimization,

With all Excel breakdowns of issues, notices and normal warnings.

As compared to Ahrefs, it is simpler and has better crawlers.

Now it gives AI Citations, & score as well, which helps in benchmarking & accelerating efforts towards GEO as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The backlink spam score, could have been better so that normal links don't come under its radar.

A rehaul of the spam algorithm would be an improvement I would like to see.

The rank tracker is also always a little off in its approximations; for e.g., if my rank is 7 in a real-world scenario, it will show as 10-11. a +-10% variation is fine & workable, but not more.

Also, why I should pay extra to unlock certain features like AI, one price should contain all features, it only when I need detailed reports or insights, then you may ask me to upgrade. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Outstanding Value: Intuitive, Powerful SEO Tools Without Breaking the Bank"
4/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Value for the price. I've used SEO software that cost over 40 thousand a year and I feel like I'm 90% equal with Semrush without breaking the bank. The UI is intuitive and offers a lot of options. I love that you can monitor different domains without any added cost. When it comes to performance, there hasn't been anything I've wanted to do that it wasn't able to handle. Overall Semrush is a wonderful product to use and has helped me be better at my job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The only downsides are when you are working on a project and you reach a point where some of the add-on features would be helpful. I have a fixed budget, so add-ons are when I hit a wall and have to find alternatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Semrush Makes SEO & AEO Research Faster with Powerful Audits, Tracking, and Content Tools"
4/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

Semrush saves me significant time on SEO and AEO research and benchmarking - I can quickly see where my site stands against competitors, and the specific opportunities I have to improve. I especially appreciate the regularly updated technical site audit to flag potential issues, the ongoing keyword and prompt tracking, and the content tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

My main issue is the limit on the number of downloads per day - this is a limiting factor when I want to synthesize reporting in other tools. If the Semrush MCP included AEO data, this would be a non-issue - but it doesn't at this point. Otherwise, the only thing I'd say is that there is a lot of data to comb through and sometimes it can be difficult to pull together into a cohesive report for others. "Deep Keyword Research and a Time-Saving API That Streamlines Content Planning"
5/5
What do you like best about Semrush?

What I rely on most is the keyword research depth for a narrow niche. I work in Brazilian telemedicine, and the Keyword Magic + Questions reports surface the exact phrasing patients actually search, which I turn straight into content briefs. The Keyword Gap tool is the other half of that workflow: pointing it at our direct competitors instantly shows which terms they rank for and we don't, so I prioritize articles by real opportunity instead of guessing. Position Tracking and Site Audit keep us honest after publishing. The biggest unlock, though, has been the Standard plan's API. Instead of exporting CSVs by hand, I pull domain overview and keyword data programmatically into our own weekly reporting, which cut the research-to-brief time on each new article from a couple of hours to about 30 minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

My main friction is with the API surface. The data access is split and inconsistent: keyword and domain reports are available through the Standard API, but Position Tracking and Site Audit aren't - those only come through a separate path (panel/MCP). For a team that automates its reporting, having two different access methods for one tool means extra plumbing and some data you simply can't pull programmatically. The API unit limits on lower tiers are also restrictive for batch research - I had to upgrade specifically to run keyword work at the volume I needed. One smaller thing: for the Brazilian market, keyword difficulty and volume estimates sometimes diverge from what we see in real Search Console data, so I treat them as directional rather than exact. None of these are dealbreakers, but unifying the API and loosening the entry-tier limits would make a strong tool noticeably better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
