I've been an SEO and Paid Search guy for years, and I've used Semrush tools throughout. A few months ago, I started using the Social Poster for a private client, and it's been a breeze. Connecting accounts is simple, and switching between them is easy. Everything feels seamless, and it saves me time managing social posts across platforms. I’m impressed with how well it all works together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price of Semrush has crept up over the years, which makes it harder to recommend for small businesses. It’s a premium tool, no doubt, and the integration with SEO and marketing tools saves time. For me, the streamlined workflow and consolidated reporting still justify the cost, but for SMB clients with tight budgets, it’s a tougher sell. The value is there, but the rising price tag can be a hurdle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
From SEO insights to website health management, Semrush has made my daily research and tasks more manageable and enjoyable.
Integrating Semrush with various other tools has been both a breeze, but also a simple process (platforms such as GSC, GA4 and Lookerstudio).
The support received from the customer services team has been top tier. No issue is ever too big or small!
I use Semrush every day - minute - second! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside I've found, is that some of the apps are not quite ready and could do with some improvements (ContentShake / AI Social Generator) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Semrush has helped me to increase my website traffic by identifying SEO opportunities in keywords, in my content ideation and in backlinks. The Dashboard is straightforward and easy to understand, even for a novice! The analytics show me what's working well so I can create additional similar content with good potential for high conversion.
Semrush also identifies SEO problems and has a great knowledge base to help me find and implement solutions. Like many bloggers I am not a website developer or SEO expert. Semrush makes it possible for me to maintain my own site's SEO and stay on top of any issues that come up. Broken links, technical issues and user experience are just a few of the things that would be invisible to me if I didn't have Semrush on the job. I now know that if there is a problem, Semrush will spot it and flag it for me.
The Customer Support is A+. It was fast and has given me the answers I was looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't really explored any of their free courses because I didn't know they had them. I discovered their Knowledge Base through an email response from Customer Support. I think they should make it a more prominent feature so that people who don't take the time to email a question could still easily find answers within Semrush instead of trying to 'Google' it.👍 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've only been using Semrush for the last 3 months, but what I've discovered so far in this software suite has been incredibly valuable. The amount of features and tools that are offered are well above what I even expected.
Right now I'm finding the keyword research and on-page SEO and tech SEO tools to be very helpful for finding weak spots in my SEO strategy, improving website user experience, and planning more effective and relevant web content for our audiences.
Besides the planning and research tools, I also use Semrush for social media planning and scheduling. Though I'm not currently using the full suite of social media tools, the social planner and accompanying social tracker and analytics have been a major time-saver for me as I'm strategizing and creating social media content for multiple channels.
The user interface/user experience on Semrush, is in my opinion, probably one of the cleanest I've seen considering how many features there are. While there are a lot of different tools to sort through, the layout of everything is fairly straightforward and easy to navigate.
If you're marketer who wears multiple hats (like me), and you have little time to spend using different tools for SEO, social media marketing, or content marketing, Semrush is a solid, all-around platform to get the job done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's only a few things I've found so far that I dislike about Semrush. First is the price of feature add-ons. While in some ways I expect a tool of this caliber to come at a cost, I feel like some of the included add-ons were a bit pricey. The last is more of a personal dislike as someone new to SEO/marketing software suites, and that's the learning curve to using the platform effectively and understanding what each feature does. While a big part of this is probably normal and has to do with how many features are being offered, I do feel like the interface can be daunting for a first time user. What I like most about Semrush is its comprehensive suite of tools that make digital marketing and SEO efficient and effective. Its keyword research capabilities are exceptional, providing detailed insights into search volumes, competition, and trends. I also appreciate the site audit feature, which helps identify and fix technical SEO issues quickly. The competitor analysis tool is another standout, offering valuable data to refine strategies and stay ahead in the market. Additionally, the user-friendly interface and regular updates ensure a seamless experience, making Semrush an indispensable tool for marketers and businesses aiming to improve online visibility. its pricing is high for other services addons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Position Tracking is fantastic per domain. Top Keywords positioning would be a Go-To every single day for me personally. I love the UI with th green up arrows for position difference. and also the labelling feature (which I use for Google Review Stars, AI Overviews, and Google Snippets labelling). Then a simple single click on the position number takes me to an historical graphic of positions, PLUS where our main 4 competitors are. Just love it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I **HATE** the dact that it splits Advertising / Social Media / Trends into separate, paid-for entities (where they dig the arm in too, especially with Social), that you only find out are separate when you sign up, quickly inflating the monthly bill for the software. It's then hard to Cancel those extras (Adobe-style hoop jumping!) where you've got to manually contact Support@ to kill the feature on the account. Just irks me so much. We know we don't use half of what the tool can do, however the site audit, keyword research tools, keyword tracking are all essential to us. It's easy to set up and implement and we're using the tool on a daily basis. Any issues are quickly resolved, and the SEMrush team have been really good over the years in their support and also more recently being proactive in seeking feedback for new evolutions and features which we're happy to help with and provide. The cost is the only real limitation and as we've grown we are now often maxed out on the projects we can set up. Adding in an ability to add bundles of say 5 projects for a small fee would be much more beneficial as doubling the cost to get to the top level is just not financially viable. SEO-centric functionality, especially keyword research, trends, ranking tracker, project management in terms of looking at growth of specific web properties, and all these across any specific country. Semrush is the leader in the space, and with practitioners at the helm steering Semrush, I'm confident that they can walk the talk and get Semrush into higher heights.
I use Semrush every single day in my daily work as a marketer, and it does way more than just SEM and SEO, but also trends, competitor research, market research and many more.
It was easy to implement and members of the team who are not savvy can quickly pick it up as well. Integrating with GA4 and GSC is just a matter of clicks, so it's definitely usable by non-tech savvy users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's nothing to dislike about Semrush, except that it's quite pricey and definitely considered an enterprise martech tool. Smaller businesses won't be able to afford Semrush, so probably it's worth exploring offering the features in Guru plan to just one website for small businesses. Semrush can definitely help businesses grow, but the price barrier is often the worry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The navigation of the site is very easy. In fact, its been so easy that I can pass off some of the work I need to non-SEOs to handle. Moreover, when you see something that you don't totally understand, there is a "?" there to easily and quickly gain further explanation.
Semrush is always trying out new features as well so they continue to improve an already outstanding product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing that I wish were made easier is to localize the reports. Most SEO is local SEO and the reporting automatically defers to the national level which is not what most organizations desire. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best features i personally like
- The keyword tracking helps you see how the traffic and marketing funnel is distributed.
- The backlink analysis tool is one of the best out there making it easy to disavow toxic links.
- the technical SEO analysis also helps you fix almost all the issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some complains i have with semrush is their keyword research tool could be more detailed and deep when compared.
It often feels like that their is not enough data for seed keywords.
Also the AI features feel very raw and need a lot of tweaking and updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
