## Seascape for Notes Reviews
  ### 1. Easy Notes-to-SharePoint Migration with Fantastic Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

I had 7 Notes databases to migrate all documents into SharePoint; The tool was easy to use and support was fantastic. They helped every step of the way. The tool was frequently updated, so the migrations became easier and had better features. I had 20 year old documents with embedded images, large videos, and everything was migrated. I could name things what I wanted, I could set key fields for multiple forms in the same export. I found the tool to be reasonably priced!

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

There was a certain window for support, as support was not in the US. So there were times when I had to wait until the next day to get answers. However, support always got back to me, we had some screen shares to work on issues, support even updated some of my forms to accommodate my database design.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are shutting down our HCL Notes servers, so this tool is allowing me to create document libraries and document lists in SharePoint of all our documents including attachments. In the Document Library, it creates the document just as you see it in Notes, you can click on your attachments and they will open. If you have any links to other documents, those are maintained in SharePoint. I can even display certain fields in my Sharepoint Document LIbrary view to assist in locating certain documents - just like in Notes.

  ### 2. Solid and Practical Solution for archiving Lotus Notes databases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

Seascape has been a solid tool for archiving Lotus Notes databases to SharePoint and creating standalone archives. It handles complex document structures, metadata, attachments, and document links very well, while keeping the output really close to the original.
The user interface is clear and easy to work with, without any unnecessary complexity. I’ve used Seascape with well over 100 databases, ranging from small ones to tens of gigabytes and even over a million documents. Performance has been consistently good, and it handles larger databases without any surprises.
Pricing feels reasonable for the value it delivers, especially considering how much time and manual effort it saves me. Swingsoftware’s support has also been responsive and genuinely helpful whenever needed. Overall, it is a highly professional and effective solution for this purpose and I'm very satisfied with it.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

There can be a bit of a learning curve at the beginning but once you get familiar with the tool, these are relatively minor issues and don’t affect the overall reliability or effectiveness of the solution.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, the biggest benefit has been being able to retire old Notes databases while still keeping the data accessible and usable for end users.

  ### 3. Effortless Setup and Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

- Quick and easy implementation of the solution.
- Responsive support and clear guidance on how to use the application.
- Entirely served its purpose for our migration and archival of Notes databases.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

- For larger and older databases, you may need some Notes experts to prepare the database accordingly / eliminate replication conflicts etc.
- It was a bit difficult at times to set the Web Archive views according to the users' preferences.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Decommissioning of HCL Notes.
- Archival of older databases for potential future audits.
- Migration of data to new solutions.

  ### 4. Seascape review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sravan S. | Corporate Applications Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

Organizations can successfully use Seascape to archive hundreds of Notes applications, transforming them into browser-based or SharePoint-accessible archives, thereby eliminating the need to maintain the original Domino infrastructure.
Seascape for Notes is a comprehensive data extraction, migration, and archiving tool designed specifically for legacy Lotus Notes (now HCL Notes and Domino) environments. It enables organizations to preserve historical data in open-standard formats such as PDF, HTML, XML, and JSON, while maintaining full fidelity of views, documents, layouts, links, and metadata.
This allows companies to retire legacy systems without losing access to critical data

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

Adding email notification for large extracts would help developers not constantly check for a successful extract. Even notification at multiple stages would be good.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Decommissioned a very old legacy system successfully reducing the cost to maintain.
Reduced having to maintain old dominos, lotus notes also avoided compliance and security risks.
Significant boost to customer experience in the new system.

  ### 5. Seascape Product Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

Seascape has many features and can support the migration to different environment as the business requires. It is quite simple to use and there is a great support behind, always ready to provide assistance as many time as it is required, no restrictions. Support is their winning feature as they can guide you to best solve your issues very fast and clear guidance. Very easy to set it up.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

Some feature may require good technical knowledge when a special extract is required. But with the help of support this is done together till the wished result is obtained.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As the company decided to move away from Lotus Notes, a lot of data had to be exported and stored in SharePoint. Seascape supported the process entirely and was very good in keeping a very similar structure to the Lotus Notes. So it was easy for the business to use the Web Archive extract, moved to SharePoint.

  ### 8. Smooth Data Extraction from HCL Notes with Seascape

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

Have now moved away from HCL Notes completely to a low code platform. Systems were run in parallel for some time but some gaps remained. Seascape was used to extract key data as a safeguard prior to decommission of HCL Notes. Once installed the tool was very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

Nothing really. Worked very well for us.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Used to backup some key data prior to decommission.

  ### 10. Excellent customer and technical support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard G. | Senior Service Delivery Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

My company had a large number of databases that had to be migrated from Lotus Notes to both SharePoint document repositories and to traditional websites. The Swing software handled both cases as advertised. The import/export process quides you thru the entire process.

I think that a critical success factor for our migration was both Swing's customer and technical support. I reached out to both a couple of times and without fail Swing personnel responded within a business day.

My company did a "deep dive" product comparison analysis and Swing rated higher than the 2 other competitor products, even though one of them was much faster than Swing's product. The tradeoff was that Swing's translations were many times more accurate than the competitors. We are a health insurance company, so accuracy of information is always very critical.

if any potential customer would like to talk to me about our migration efforts, i would be more than willing to talk to them about our technical migration process. in all honesty, other than the "processing run rate," Swing is hands-down the best product out there for migrating Lotus Notes databases into SharePoint document libraries.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

I'm sure a lot of processing is going on behind the scenes, but to be very honest, the entire import/export process seems to be exceedingly slow. we analyzed our "processing run rates" at it seem that the Swing software averaged about 900 to 1300 documents per hour. When you're having to export dozens and dozens of Lotus Notes databases, with literally many hundreds of thousands of documents, it's takes a long time (many man and compute months). When we were deep into our migration we had myself (with 3 VDI machines) and 2 additional contractors (each with either 3 or 4 VDI machines) running non-stop for days at a time.

Having said that, any potential customer should also review what i liked about the Swing competitor, in comparison to competing products.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The company decided to migrate from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Technology in 2016. However, it wasn't sometime in 2022 that we decided to remediate our 106,000 Lotus notes database environment; to include end-user and shared mail databases, Quicker databases, bulletin boards, discussion dbs, doc libs and team rooms. We whittled our list down and then began the migration process.

  ### 11. Fantastic Product for Lotus Notes to SharePoint Online Migration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaz S. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

We had to migrate almost half a million records from Lotus Notes for one of the biggest councils in Europe, and Seascape performed the task easily.
The product was quick to install and setup, with an intuitive interface to setup your connections to DB's and Sharepoint sites, as well as what filters/conditions you want to apply.
The customer support was brilliant and came back with responses quickly as well as the helpful online documentation.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

There was nothing to dislike about this product or the service from the team, I just wish we had purchased it sooner.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While decommissioning our Lotus Notes estate, we also had to adhere to Data Retention policies, upto 7 years in some cases.
By using Seascape we were able to analyse databases, create views or optional Formula conditions in Seascape to only select the records we were interested in.
It also gave us the option to either embed any attachments or save them into a structured file order.
This allowed then for us to migrate the record to Sharepoint Online.

  ### 12. A good and powerful product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

it's easy to use and and easy to implement in environment.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

I couldn't find any disadvantages when I used Seascape for Notes.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seascape for Notes made very easy for us to migrate and archive data from Lotus Domino Notes to other platforms.

  ### 13. Cheap, simple, fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

The price was the main reason for the first tests with Seascape, because it was unbeatable! It's pretty easy to get started and the Seascape staff are incredibly quick and helpful. Together with these employees, I was able to solve all problems (including self-inflicted ones) very quickly. All in all, Seascape made my work so much easier that we were able to successfully migrate our old Notes databases to Sharepoint quite quickly.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

I only found out about two functions at the end (metadata is deactivated by default and set note to HTML to avoid unsightly text formatting), which I could have been made aware of at the beginning. These functions would have made the work even easier. But if I had reported the problems at the beginning, I would have been helped immediately, as I am now. I just didn't think that the program could also fix these small problems.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seascape has exported hundreds of thousands of documents for me and imported them into Sharepoint. This could not have been done manually. The web archive function is also simply brilliant and we use it frequently.

  ### 14. Archived 60 GB of old Notes data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Dairy | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

Easy to use interface and simple to install. It works out of the box to create usable, static websites, with full search capabilities.

Customer support is very good.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

Can take a while to run on big databases (multi-GB) . Some of our exports took a couple of days. Lots of memory and processors helped improve that.

Occasionally errored out on one complex database, but on restart was able to quickly catch up to where it stopped, without having to begin again.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a lot of large, old databases with attached documents that needed to be kept for statutory purposes. Standard Notes export functionality wouldn't allow us to include attachments.
Seascape for Notes allowed us to quickly export everything we needed in a browser accessible format.

  ### 15. Huge time-saver to archive Notes data to SharePoint

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

Compared to manually exporting & fixing up a CSV, then building an agent to export all attachments (and later build a Power Automate flow to reattach the files in SharePoint), using SWING's solution is dramatically faster.

Additionally, it was very simple to pilot an archive two ways: As a SharePoint List (more common for us) or as a Library (much easier to navigate in particular cases).

Even though Seascape is really built for Archiving data, there were a few instances where the I ended up rebuilding the Notes database process in SharePoint using the exported data. Using Seascape once again drastically sped up that process as well.

All around, this is a great tool which allows you pilot your exported data in multiple ways to "get it right" before moving forward with a full export / archive.

Seascape was also super easy to install.

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

At first there was a bit of a learning curve when it came to complex things like calculated fields. However, reaching out to SWING quickly resolved that issue.

**What problems is Seascape for Notes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seascape speeds up the process of archiving Notes database data to SharePoint. Sure, you can do it by hand for databases with a few fields, but it will take a lot longer (especially if there are attachments). For databases with dozens or 100+ fields, the manual export option is not an option. Seascape can export not only the field data you want to surface for sorting & filtering as SharePoint metadata, but also create a PDF of each Notes document the way it is -- and one that is familiar to users. We have even taken a few data sets that were "archived" and, using the data exported by Seascape, we were able to easily make them "living" SharePoint solutions complete with Power Automate flows, etc. The data in SharePoint is clean and usable.

  ### 16. It did the job perfectly

**What do you like best about Seascape for Notes?**

It work so easy there is no big knowledge needed most of the application run thru.
Only when there are very big amount of data or alot of none standard use comes across then there is some caution needed

**What do you dislike about Seascape for Notes?**

I do not have anything it did what it said on the box
