**What do you like best about Scytale?**

There are two aspects of Scytale that worked well for us: the platform and our customer success manager, Ashleigh Du Preez. It was easy to use, which is especially important since my team and I were in the system on an almost daily basis during our initial audit period.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

The need for multiple screenshots, although this is not unique to Scytale but rather is a characteristic of many GRC platforms.

**What problems is Scytale solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scytale is a GRC vendor that promises to cut stress and time as it relates to securing security compliance and certifications such as SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA. The ability to complete these certifications in a timely manner is important for my company's business, i.e., to land new customers and retain existing ones.

I love the intuitive use of Scytale, which makes working with the software easy. The easy export of documents is another feature I like, as it allows me to use the documents for various purposes. The initial setup of Scytale was very easy too.

Sometimes the training tab wouldn't load, so improving response time would be helpful.

I think the integrations to different platforms could be improved, they're lacking a few important ones like Azure.

Scytale makes the entire compliance process far less painful and more structured. The platform provides a clear, step-by-step workflow for achieving SOC 2 and ISO certifications, and the automated evidence collection saves a lot of manual effort. The UI is intuitive, and it’s easy to track progress and assign tasks to team members.
What really stands out, though, is their customer success team — they’re proactive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed.

There’s a bit of a learning curve when you first start setting up integrations and mapping controls, but once the system is configured, it runs smoothly. Reporting customization could be a bit more flexible, though it’s improving steadily with new updates.

I like the division of proofs into clearly labeled tasks in Scytale, which helps in managing SOC 2 requirements better. It allows us to break down tasks and allocate them to our team easily. I also appreciate being able to reference proofs from previous audits by task, which is especially helpful when there's uncertainty about what proof is needed, and when different people are filling out proofs over the years.

**What do you dislike about Scytale?**

I don't like that I can only interface with it via the web platform. I use Slack, and I would like to get updates there when a task is assigned to me or a reviewer left a comment on proof I submitted.

Additionally, the initial setup of Scytale was incredibly easy thanks to its excellent documentation. Scytale is a very likeable company. The personal are great, starting from Matan as the sales which we talked over a year with and kept Scytale in my mind, to Oliver as our dedicated audit advisor. 
The integrations are very easy to set up and did help set up a lot of controls.

Although the integrations and Scytale app doing some of the heavy lifting to us, the app still was kind of hard to understand at the beginning, even with the go through with the advisor, but in the end it was understandable.

The hardest part for a new startup to start audits with Scytale is that they need to create a lot of the processes (specifically in ISO for us) like onboarding and incident procedures, and they weren't very clear on how to do it. 

I believe that having on each policy examples of how they need to be done with pictures or templates (like the one in the incident template) will help make this easier.

Starting from being a first time founder, having little idea about the process of ISO and how to pass it, Scytale having an easy platform to manage that, connections to external audits for faster complience and generally can guide us through it due to us not having a lot of time to invest into this.
