I really appreciate that Scytale serves as our system of record for compliance controls and evidence. Having our dedicated GRC Manager, Robin Williams, truly makes Scytale stand out because they operate like an extension of our internal team and help with compliance and auditing needs. Robin's understanding of how controls function in practice really cuts down on the back-and-forth during audit prep. I enjoy how Scytale integrates with our cloud platform, identity provider, and Git repo, which helps in automatically pulling evidence and providing visibility into our environment. Moving from Vanta, I value the more hands-on approach that Scytale provides, particularly with the dedicated GRC Manager helping translate requirements into actual execution. The initial setup was straightforward, which I found quite convenient. I'd definitely recommend Scytale to teams that value having a dedicated GRC resource to drive audit readiness and keep things organized because this combination of platform and hands-on support is a strong differentiator. Once familiar, the platform allows users to pick up the pace quickly and smoothly. I find their integration feature highly beneficial, as it automatically collects evidence and identifies issues, which significantly streamlines the SOC2 auditing process. The dashboard is particularly useful, providing a clear, quick overview of compliance status, which I value greatly. I also recognize the team's helpfulness in explaining how to collect manual evidence and finding the best ways to proceed in various situations. The time it took to achieve SOC2 readiness for an external audit in just four weeks is incredibly impressive and highlights the efficiency of the platform. Additionally, the responsiveness and support from the team have made my experience enjoyable, and I highly regard their effective assistance throughout the auditing process. The integration support for platforms like DigitalOcean is limited, with few features and configuration aspects automatically controlled. Although this is somewhat expected given DigitalOcean's status compared to larger providers, it still poses a limitation, and improved support would be beneficial. Integration with Dependabot could be improved; dependabot is not behaving well on their side, but when they delete past vulnerabilities, Scytale thinks you have never fixed them, rather than dependabot reclassifying them. If you have AWS than it would be more powerful, I guess, but we have all done by ourselves and host it on a local hoster. This requires a lot of changes in the collection of evidence and completion of controls. Dian Strydom is most helpful with all the steps to be taken. He guides me through everything and helps me out with templates to complete the controls. The GUI is easy to understand and helps a lot in having an oversight what to do and where I am. There were no issues with the setup, as there was no need to deploy anything on our side; we just got access to the cloud platform.
