Unfortunately, that isn't how it worked out. Most of the content submitted by their writers was subpar at best. I think out of all the articles I ultimately approved and paid for, only one was satisfactory. More often than not, I had to spend hours fact-checking, editing, and revising these articles. **What problems is Scripted.com solving and how is that benefiting you?** I chose Scripted with the intention of helping streamline our content creation process and in an effort to publish upwards of 12 articles a month. ### 6. I spent over a thousand dollars and all I got was sub-par content. They are optimizing for volume, rather than quality, and it shows. I suppose most of their customers just need SEO articles that aren't designed to deliver real value but rather to trick Google's search engine. **Recommendations to others considering Scripted.com:** Stay away. **What problems is Scripted.com solving and how is that benefiting you?** Save yourself time and money and stay away from this service. Content quality is terrible, and I'm under the impression that all of their writers use AI like Copy.ai or Jasper to crank out content. They don't put time and proper research into your content. When first starting out, I mostly picked up orders from the queue where all invited writers can get work. As time went on and I was able to showcase my abilities to clients, however, I began to get direct requests from clients. In my time, I've written ebooks, blogs, white papers, website pages, video scripts, and more for clients large and small. I've had hundreds of clients at this point decide to request work specifically from me after seeing my writing style and ability, and when this happens, I receive higher pay than projects that are just available for everyone. Scripted has been my primary source of income for nearly the entire time I've written there, and I plan on staying with them for the foreseeable future. I've got several clients who reach out to me specifically now, and I've established great relationships with them in the process. Love the platform! **What do you like best about Scripted.com?** Very simple to use interface. It's a basic word processing system on the writer's side with a variety of powerful tools. Clients seem to have no issues when they discuss using the system with me. **What do you dislike about Scripted.com?** There have been times when updates to the software caused temporary problems, but these have always been rectified fairly quickly. Support is very responsive when such issues occur. **What problems is Scripted.com solving and how is that benefiting you?** If I was running my own business, I would certainly use Scripted for my content creation needs. All the writers and editors I've worked with have been highly professional. ### 10. I will never recommend this to anyone. **What do you like best about Scripted.com?** The site might have great professionals, but at the end of the day, you want a platform that's good with its customers, but this was just an awful experience altogether. **What do you dislike about Scripted.com?** The cancelation process ends up being awful and they charge you for a service you didn't want and ask to be canceled in the first place. I asked to cancel my membership many times only to be charged $200 without my consent. My favorite thing is that Scripted reintroduced Smart Match last year, which means qualifying writers can claim projects in one click (no need for a proposal). They also have a solid support team that's quick to respond, even on weekends. In recent months, Scripted implemented metrics and tiers, which I feel was a good move for supporting quality control initiatives on the platform and the requirements are very realistic. Lastly, they've brought back editors and they're always improving the writing tools, which is greatly appreciated. **What do you dislike about Scripted.com?** Like all platforms I've been with, Scripted has changed in recent years. While deadlines use to be highly flexible, they now auto set to 48-72 hours, which is often unrealistic for longer and more complex projects. Additionally, while they used to have a floor pricing model that I believe set minimum pay at 7 cents per word, it can now be as low as 5, which is much less than the 10-20 range that experienced writers typically earn. **What problems is Scripted.com solving and how is that benefiting you?** Scripted is a great place to fill my free time with interesting projects. Sadly, that isn't the focus of this review. We didn't need them moving forward, and so tried to cancel. Holy wow, was this a horrible customer experience. Here's a summary: First - you can't cancel online. You have to call or book a sales call. (Red flag!) We got stood up by the salesperson. They no-showed. Then, we tried to reschedule and got the runaround. Called 'em, got ahold of a salesperson, and they said ... they can't cancel. Finally, they tried to cancel our account and bill us "the remainder of the year" - when it'd been months since we initially requested the cancellation. By the way ... they don't send invoices. Fun, huh? And then to top it all off? They acted like they were doing us a favor by canceling us "early." Don't support these horrible business practices. I also posted a job with Upwork at the same time. Within a couple of hours, I have several great applicants through Upwork. After a few days passing with no applicants from Scripted, I unsuccessfully tried to remove the job posting from Scripted so I left the job posting alone and moved on, forgetting about the fact that I was in a trial. I received no email notices that I had been billed $200 when my trials ended. When our accountant made me aware of this charge, I reached out to support to request a refund, seeing as to how I never actually benefitted from the platform. I understand that I clicked through screens with fine print about a $200 charge apparently, but I would expect Support to give me a refund. Instead, I had an overall poor experience with receiving applicants from the platform, and the platform's Support. **What do you like best about Scripted.com?** The marketing site describing the product is well done. **What do you dislike about Scripted.com?** The pace of getting applicants. My goal for joining Scripted as a writer was to build up my online credibility and published writing samples as well as to supplement my small business income for when things were going slower than anticipated. At times, Scripted is my only source of income, and it allows me the flexibility to work around my schedule while working remotely. **What do you like best about Scripted.com?** I love Scripted as a writer because I can pick and choose the projects to write as well as set my own rate. If you're a reliable, favored and quality writer, then Scripted staff will often invite you to bid on specific projects and/or directly assign you to projects. It's important to have a detailed profile so that they know your areas of expertise and interest. **What do you dislike about Scripted.com?** I really haven't had any complaints about Scripted. Their process is more than fair - writers can set their own prices and bid on projects of their choosing. Sometimes, the editing process takes a long time, which requires you to check the website frequently (I haven't been able to figure out how to get notified when something needs to be revised - this is something I just haven't taken the time to contact support about). Other than that, initially, I didn't like the fact that you had to wait several weeks to receive payment on completed projects; however, they have just come up with a reward system so that writers who maintain the top tier can receive payment immediately without waiting. I really like the new feature that they implemented. **Recommendations to others considering Scripted.com:** Anyone from beginners to experts can benefit from using Scripted as long as they're writing is top-notch. It's a great way to connect with a wide range of clients in many industries without having to pay astronomical fees or subscriptions. There never seems to be a lack of quality and good-paying projects to bid on as seen on many freelance platforms. I haven't experienced the client-side of Scripted, but I can tell you that many that I have worked with keep coming back for more on a regular basis. Not everyone is accepted to write for Scripted, so clients can be confident that their jobs will be handled by the best. **What problems is Scripted.com solving and how is that benefiting you?** Scripted has helped me to connect me with clients in an easier and cheaper way than if I went out and tried to find clients on my own. When I asked for a refund, they could clearly see that I have never used the platform and refused to give me ANY refund at all. Here's what happened. It was my first time ordering an article from them. I received several proposals. I chose the one that sounded the best. The best part of the whole thing was the proposal itself. The article, when it came through, was poorly written, poorly formatted, not at all researched. It was going to cost about $300 for a fluff piece. So I was going to reject the article. I got an email saying I could reject it up to a certain date. Great. On that date, I went to reject it and it had processed my payment and automatically accepted the article. Turns out that there was somewhere that said I had to accept it by 9AM. And it was now 1pm. So I emailed them and said hey this was my first time using this, i was going to reject the article, but didnt realize I had to do it by a certain time, could I please reject it, return it and get a refund. After many (5+) emails back and forth, the representative was short, and it was a no go. I ended up rejecting the article (ie, NOT GETTING OR USING THE ARTICLE AT ALL) and being charged 300 bucks. I will never try them again or recommend them. **Recommendations to others considering Scripted.com:** My advice is stay as far away as possible. Their business practices are shady and desperate. If they had refunded me I would have tried them again and possibly spent 10s of 1000s with them. Instead, they kept my $300 and I'll never be back or recommend. And I'm pretty well connected in the content marketing space. **What problems is Scripted.com solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem I was trying to solve was to outsource content. While maybe for some other companies the new process is better, for our purposes (mostly the removal of the blog ideas section) it was a complete nightmare. We tried it for another few months, but not only did the cost of each blog increase significantly, the quality also diminished greatly. Now they won't refund us for the rest of our annual contract for a service we're never going to use. We feel we were completely duped by Scripted. We would've never signed up for an annual contract had they told us they were going to change their entire platform three months after, and I'm sure they planned it that way. ### 38. We cancelled after 2 months but they charged us for five (they kept our subscription alive even after cancellation). **What do you dislike about Scripted.com?** - Really poor content: on the first piece that we requested, we sent a few paragraph with what we would like the writer to cover. His first draft was literally our overview with a few generic words added. - Charged us after cancellation: we requested cancellation in July. After submitting the request, they offer us 2 free month to see if we would return. At the end of the two months, they restarted charging the credit card without notice or confirmation.
