## Scribd Reviews
  ### 1. A Treasure Trove for Students, But Could Use a UX Tweak

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robyn-Lee S. | LinkedIn Marketing Consultant, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

I love Scribd's library and the access it provides. Being subscribed to Scribd automatically gives me access to Everand's collection too, which includes a lot of audiobooks. I love reading or listening to audiobooks, which are usually expensive, but with just one subscription, I get access to so many. It allows me to consume way more books when my subscription is active, even more so than when I have physical books. Having audiobooks is just so much more accessible and enjoyable. Plus, the initial setup of Scribd was super easy.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

It looks a lot messy right now. Since it's split with Everand, Scribd has become kind of this more academic object, and it's hard to find things. The UX is not as seamless and straightforward as it used to be. Also, there aren't always cover photos or titles, which makes it more difficult to search for a book by its author's name. Another thing is the 'available soon' issue where something that was previously available suddenly becomes unavailable towards the end of the subscription month and is only set to return after the subscription renews.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scribd gives me access to textbooks and resources that aren't always available or are too expensive, saving me money. It also provides enjoyable audiobooks, expanding my reading with one subscription.

  ### 2. Documents Galore!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

Education should be open to all peoples, and this service allows the sharing of so many pieces of education that should be second nature to all! In my business, we are constantly looking for open used PDFs and documents that can be shared with our clients, and sometimes Google just does not work for us. That's where Scribd comes in. With one simple search, a plethora of information comes up and documents are ready at my fingertips. I love that it is peer shared and it sure does make my job easier!

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

I think the worst part is that I cannot always download or print the documents that I find. I need copies and have to screenshot what I want. I wish there was an option to be able to download everything, even if that meant paying a little more. Depending on the cost, I would even be open to the idea of paying a small fee per document if it allowed me to download and or print what I need. I think this is an option that could be explored, but maybe it is just not essential.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

Pay for the subscription!

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like I said, instead of having to Google for everything, I am able to use this service to find most of the documents that I need. I am slowly realizing that the digital age will soon take over the print page, and instead of copying everything I have, I can make backup copies using Scribd.

  ### 3. Amazing platform to find e-books, articles and research papers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jyotirmaya P. | Professional Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

There are many things I like about Scribd. Here are some:

1. This platform provides almost any e-books, magazines, audiobooks, research papers, documents, etc.
2. Finding documents/e-books that are not to be found anywhere on the internet.
3. Premium membership provides unlimited access to everything.
4. Membership fee is cheaper than the popular ones like audible, kindle, etc.
5. They provide a free trial as well if you want to explore and use/read.
6. This platform supports web as well as mobile devices which makes it easily accessible anywhere anytime.
7. Scribd allows users to upload and share their documents as well, which is a great addition too.
8. Android app is just great and allows me to listen to audio books anywhere, even offline.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

Well, there is nothing much to dislike, But indeed there is room for improvement.

1. The suggestions and discovery feature is terrible; I have to search manually to find the content I like to read.
2. As a free user, it is challenging to read whole documents.
3. The search is also terrible sometimes and gives many rubbish results.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

I advise going for Scribd, since this platform has so much to offer at a generous subscription fee, and it will help grow professionally and personally.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Scribd, I was able to find some documents and presentations which I could not find anywhere, and I am very thankful for the platform. I also enjoy listening to audiobooks on the platform and learn on the go.

  ### 4. Best audiobook expierence!

**Reviewed by:** Andy H. | Plumber, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

I like the library that you have access to for a flat rate each month.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

I wish that Scribd had all available audiobooks.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can multitask while reading the books that I want to read.

  ### 5. I call it a database of knowledge

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krishna A. | Marketing Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

I enjoy its audiobook feature the most that let me hear the book of my choice even while working or doing other personal stuff. Other than this, I love its cross-platform availability making it a portable solution that I can even use through my mobile phone for hearing audiobooks while travelling.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

The dislike thing is not all the audiobooks of my preference are available on this software. Also, the progress tracking feature is not available on this software so far.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

If you are looking for a mobile solution to listen to audiobooks anytime and anywhere, then I suggest you thinking of Scribd.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scribd has been a great source of knowledge and entertainment for me to listen to audiobooks varieties even while working or travelling. Now, I don't have to carry bulky books with me, saving my time, and I can listen and do my tasks simultaneously.

  ### 6. Probably the best ebook and audiobook app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary C. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

I like to listen to audio books when I`m working out. Scribd has an incredible selection of both available for $10 per month.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

Nothing it`s excellent! No complaints. Love it.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ive stopped spending a fortune on books, and audio books. Scribd saves me time and money.

  ### 7. A quick way to do research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Newspapers | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

As a journalist, I often need to consult primary sources to learn from experts to get the necessary background for my stories. Scrib's extensive repository of books and other documents enables quick and inexpensive literature reviews.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

Sometimes I prefer listening to a book instead of reading it to multitask with typing or other research. Scribd has a low limit for audio before it throttles.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scribd helps me access primary source information I can use in publication. Cost is lower than Audible.

  ### 8. Simply Amazing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

Scribd is very easy to use and that's the most important thing for me. you can get everything from books, audiobooks, magazines, podcasts, research papers, and all under one dashboard which makes it very user friendly. I started using Scribd all by accident actually, when collage, I needed to complete a research paper and found the site searching for it. later it seemed interesting and decided to go for the trial and never looked back since, it's now my go-to website for any books or audiobooks. the Scribd subscription also gave me access to other amazing services like peak, curiosity stream, and Pandora for free which is awesome. the service is also fairly priced so everyone can use it.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

I don't like the android app that much but for the fact, I'm not a fan of reading books on mobile phones, maybe that's that.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

Scribd is really amazing, since I started using it back in college, I'm a huge fan of the service and recommend it to anyone who is interested in reading.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scribd is an online service that provides books, magazines, audiobooks, and all at an affordable price.

  ### 9. Good collection

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

Ability to discover, read, engage with e-books

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

The constant reminders to upgrade the subscription are annoying

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

Be prepared for constant annoying reminders and paywalls

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reading documents, e-books, content online has become easier

  ### 10. good for books and magazines, but bad for articles.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria Paz T. | Analista de proyectos, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

1.- You can access from your pc and your mobile without any problem.
2.- The app for reading electronic books works well.
3.- You can find books, texts and audiobooks in different languages.
4.- The website works well and is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

1.- Expensive for so many repeated and incomplete documents. Even for his collection of books and audiobooks it seems expensive compared to other platforms with more variety (example amazon).
2.- You cannot access or read books on any platform other than scribd, which is problematic for me since I use kindle for my electronic books.
3.- It has no integration with ereaders.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my time as a student and even now it has allowed me to get out of trouble by finding some documents or specific information that I need quickly, but the bad thing is that usually many of the documents have several copies and even many are incomplete.

  ### 11. Great tool for sharing white papers, self-published e-books, and accessing great books

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebrina P. | Graphic & Event Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

I first discovered Scribd when looking for a tool to embed my own pdf files on public platforms. Now I love the near limitless access it gives me to unique content and digital publications.

I have been able to find exclusive documents and printables that I wouldn't have stumbled upon or been able to access elsewhere. I like that Scribd promotes community of sharing and networking by providing free document access when you upload your own documents.

Scribd Premium membership offers one of the most competitive e-reading experiences I've been able to find with unlimited access to ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines for less than $10 a month. This is cheaper than Audible's membership that includes only 1 free book and comparable to KindleUnlimited except with more publishing house titles versus indie or self-published ones. I find myself using Scribd to read on topics in all aspects of my life from business development and growth to educating my children.

They also offer a very generous referral program where you can earn free months of membership which means even greater savings.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

I find Scribd to excel at the service they offer.

While I love the fact they have so many books that I can't access with my Kindle Unlimited subscription, I don't think they've attracted the indie/self-publishing market as well as Amazon so avid readers like me would probably want both memberships to be able to access all the titles we want.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

If you are looking for a wonderful tool to share documents or files in a public platform, find unique papers, articles, or printables or simply access affordable digital publications (books, magazines, audiobooks) from the publishers, then Scribd is the right choice for you. It has something to offer for the individual consumer and business person.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I originally began using Scribd to upload and embed pdf files before services like Google Drive were developed. Now Scribd has progressed with the times to help me address my audiobook fix without breaking the bank.

  ### 12. Find (almost) Anything on Scribd

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren B. | Faculty, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

Scribd has been so helpful for me in finding obscure sheet music. As a musical theater teacher, I’m constantly assigning songs and Scribd almost always has them when I can’t find them anywhere else. There are books and scripts, too!

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

The search engine can be a little tricky

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I spend so much less time hunting for sheet music and scores. I can find almost everything I’m looking for on scribd.

  ### 13. Great platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

Scribd is a great way to read things without having to pay per book read or wait to receive a book from a library or book exchange.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

Occasionally I can’t find something I’m looking for on scribd but overall the selection is very strong.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scribd helps you receive books very easily. It can be tough to locate what you need normally so to have Scribd available saves you both time and money.

  ### 14. Windows of knowledge

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

Almost all the books that I need can be found on scribd

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

Scibd should be able to compare the number of pages of files that we upload with the number of pages that we will read when we are free users. because after we upload the file, the preview page that can be read is limited, and asks us to upload the file again for the next preview, even though the file pages that we have uploaded are more than the total pages that will be read.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many books or documents that are very difficult to find in libraries or even in big book stores, can easily be found in Scribd

  ### 15. My virtual library

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alberto S. | Gerente de oficina, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

It is a great tool in which I can have my documents written in PDF or web pages that I consider important, I can adapt it to several formats and open in several operating systems, it is really interesting because it is like a virtual library where you can save all the readings of my interest and share them with whoever you want at the time you want in a very easy way

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

You need legal permits to make certain publications and you will always run the risk of losing everything if the company decides to close so I recommend always having a backup of everything you keep there.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

For its effectiveness and the time that I now at certain times recommend its use

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all the reading of your interest at hand and in one place is a great advantage when it comes to reading some important document to make a decision at a certain time, accelerating work without creating setbacks

  ### 16. Scribd is a great website to search for and buy books in forms that can be downloaded.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frances M. | Sales Associate, Retail, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

The wide variety of books and the ease of searching the website are the best features of this website. I almost feel like I am getting lost in a library or book store when I am searching the Scribd website.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

I don't really dislike anything about the site. Everything is pretty wonderful. I hope Scribd does not have plans to change.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

100% would choose this website every time to meet my and my business needs.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scribd has made it easier to find books and manuals that relate to the day to day life of working in different business. Some benefits that Scribd has brought to my business is just the various reading material to help expand the knowledge of my coworkers and I.

  ### 17. Room for improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonardo M. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

It is easy to use, you can have more audiobooks per month then, for example, Audible and a decent amount of books per month with a sizeable database of good books with nice recommendations.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

The fact that it does not have some of the books I was looking for and for example, B&N or Amazon have. They still have a good bunch of books but not all audiobooks, for example, Audible offers, sometimes also the quality is worse and choppy and not that enjoyable to listen to.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

If you want an inexpensive service that offers both books and audiobooks, Scrib is definitely something you should look into.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Personal development and education in topics related to the business and clients.

  ### 18. A nice podcast app

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandra (Ally) Z. | Implementation Team Lead - Conversion Analyst ll, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

It is a great app for listening to audio books and digital news papers. I like the efficiency of the app and the amount of resources available in it. There is a lot of material to use in Scribd for personal and professional purposes. I like how convenient the app is.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

I do not like that it is only audio books and news papers. I don't like having many apps and would rather merge music, audio books, podcasts and news paper at one platt form. Also, sometimes the app is confusing when searching for a new material.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

It is great if you know that the material you are looking to use is all on the app. If not, it might be a headache to find your material.I would reccomend looking at the material online and see if the material you are looking for is on the plattform.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to conveniently educate myself with the material in improving my work and myself personally. I like being able to listen to work related audio books while driving to meet clients and business meetings. The news papers are also a great resource when researching a matter to solve business problems.

  ### 19. Great service for education professionals

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Scribd?**

I appreciate that Scribd has a wide variety of book and magazine titles, which have been very useful to share with the teenage Fellows I work with when we assign readings. The Fellows have commented that the platform is really easy to use on their computers and phones, and so far we have been able to find all of the material we needed directly on Scribd.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

So far there is nothing I dislike about the product - everything has worked well.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

No recommendations - the product is pretty self explanatory.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scribd solves the problem of providing books and magazine articles to a large number of students at once, especially on their mobile devices to avoid excessive paper waste by printing. We had also previously come up against the issue of entire books and articles not being accessible online, but this has been aided by using the Scribd service.

This is one of the easier to use reading subscriptions I have used. I like that I was able to try it free for 30 days, and have since used it to access hundreds of ebooks and audio books that I listen to to advance in my knowledge for my career.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

Just like with any service, there are some books that I would like to access that have no been available.

**Recommendations to others considering Scribd:**

Great product!

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to use Scribd to further my knowledge of child psychology while still being at work, without having to attend conferences. I look at it as professional development for under $10 a month.

I liked how the setup is like an online library and the site is very easy to read from and find a variety of sources.

**What do you dislike about Scribd?**

I didn't like the zooming feature because the toggle doesn't work very well and trying to zoom on a dated source and ending up with a lower quality, pixelated page.

**What problems is Scribd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding sources without going through much trouble to find an accurate, valid source.

  ### 24. Scribd is used essentially as a warehouse for digital documents and books.

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Scribd?**
