Mike Carter has been very helpful to me in all aspects of scribble maps. We have met over zoom a couple of times and each session has improved my scribble experience GREATLY. I would like to attach one of my maps to show you how much I like scribble maps and how detailed my maps are. Map ID- X2DHbmydrf **What do you dislike about Scribble Maps?** 1. Not being able to move attributes. For example, I am not able to flip flop my attributes on the data sheet. If I want to change around an attribute I have to delete all of the other attributes to be able to move it to a different location on my data sheet. 2. I wish I could link fields to certain attributes on my data sheet. For example, If I change the color of a field to yellow (color of fields that have cotton) I have to change the crop attribute to cotton. I would like to see if that could automatically change my attributes without having to manually input that the field I changed to yellow is cotton. 3. I have had trouble with uploading CSV lists. I understand your format/template, but it never enters everything correctly in my data sheet. Some of this might have to do with importing data to non geo referenced fields that I created by hand. 4. A big issue I have had is printing on scribble maps. I am currently subscribed to a pro basic plan. I understand that the pro business plan has better resolution for printing which could really help me out a lot. Honestly, I do not believe paying the price for the pro business plan is worth it for myself. I have enjoyed the pro basic plan for all of its features except printing. Everytime I print a map I get a blurry image. I am able to screenshot the image, crop, and then print but the image is still a little blurry. If I could have printer improvements for the pro basic plan this would make my maps a lot clearer and make my life easier. **Recommendations to others considering Scribble Maps:** If you are a farmer or involved with agriculture, Scribble Maps is the best mapping software I have found. There are hundreds of markers in infinite colors and sizes, all of which can be imbued with filterable attributes that can render a cobweb of intersecting utilities into easily digestible pictures. There is a way to attach almost any type of data you can imagine, and an incredibly seamless import/export function that can move intensely complex data to/from the program in a way that's both painless and gratifying. I could go on. But perhaps the best thing about scribble is the customer service. I originally would have rated the program an 8 out of 10 due to some minor functionality issues I had encountered. However, after some truly impressive attention from their support team, most of those "errors" were revealed to be user error, and the minor legitimate bug left over was met with excitement at the opportunity to make the program better. I can't speak highly enough of their team (looking at you, Mike). **What do you dislike about Scribble Maps?** The Scribble maps interface has some minor inconsistencies in convention (for instance, the process to change the size of a line is different than that to change the size of a marker) which means that the user needs to put in a little extra time to become fluent. However once you do the program will truly make you feel like a wizard. **Recommendations to others considering Scribble Maps:** The program might have a bit of a learning curve to it, but once you become proficient it really is incredible what you can do with it. And if you're worrying about BECOMING proficient, don't worry: they have incredible customer service there to help you achieve it. **What problems is Scribble Maps solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am an independent contractor that manages the redevelopment of rural properties for my clients. At the end of my contract, I leave my clients with a number of materials to pass on a detailed knowledge of what they are inheriting when we are done. I like that it does not show all the local points of interest or restaurants like google maps - that tends to make maps look cluttered. I also liked that you can directly save the map as a PNG versus having to screenshot the map. I also liked that I did not have to have prior experience to use this. **What do you dislike about Scribble Maps?** I wish the image quality was a bit higher. I want to download close view aerials for my presentations but it gets a bit blurry. I also wish that there were more features on the map regarding to existing addresses and businesses. If it listed all of the businesses and properties on the map as well that would be helpful. **Recommendations to others considering Scribble Maps:** I would recommend increasing the image quality of frozen PNG images in the maps. **What problems is Scribble Maps solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to create professional looking and personalized maps for my companies presentations. I had originally tried to use Google Maps and then google earth but found it too hard to use google earth. Google maps - could not produce the maps I wanted - specifically highlighting arial images of land sites. So I found scribble maps and was very impressed with how easy I was able to use it with no tutorial or instruction. Truly great that I did not need to sit through 20 mintues of youtube tutorials just so that I could possibly make a map that might look good on google. So offering this demo is a really good thing. **What do you dislike about Scribble Maps?** I can't say, not having used it as much, what I dislike. It was shockingly difficult to find a program that could easily do this, so finding Scribble Maps has been a game-changer! I have yet to delve into some of the other features of Scribble Maps, such as route planning, but I am looking forward to continuing to use it and to learn more about how else the program can benefit our organization as a whole. **What do you dislike about Scribble Maps?** When I first started using Scribble Maps, I found it clunky to maneuver through. As time went on and I worked with it more, the process became much smoother. I think the printing process could use some work - particularly when you try to print a specific section of the map as opposed to the map as a whole. Additionally, I wish you could upload more picture types, such as AI or EPS files, thus allowing you to use transparent images. **Recommendations to others considering Scribble Maps:** For people needing features that Google Maps does not offer, Scribble Maps is a great alternative. Given the complexity of the program, I think that the monthly rate is reasonable. I recommend giving yourself some time when you first start to really familiarize yourself with the program. They also have a number of videos on YouTube which I found to be very helpful when I was starting out. The autosave feature does not always seem to work correctly, so I would recommend saving manually throughout the creation process to ensure that you do not lose any of your work. **What problems is Scribble Maps solving and how is that benefiting you?** Until finding Scribble Maps, I had been unable to find another program that would allow me to create what I was attempting to create. Being able to create and print vicinity apps with ease has made marketing our commercial properties much easier. For instance, when adding a pin, if I want it to shrink on zoom, I have to select the item, click that option, then click save. This is minor, but if you're adding a lot of pins, the time adds up. **What problems is Scribble Maps solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our church organized a community service day where we had 62 projects and 350 volunteers. We used Scribble Maps to map where the projects were located and where the dumpsters were. This allowed coordinators to quickly see the best routes to take and how to best redeploy volunteers when projects were completed. Next year we will be utilizing the API to have individual maps for individual coordinators and have pins appear, disappear, or change color based on status. My group researched 10+ map making tools and Scribble Maps was the winner, hands down. This tool also impressed me with its ability to source from other available internet maps. We were able to show stakeholders traffic via the traffic map view, or the terrain in upstate NY easily. Being able to switch between these maps gave us a way to give our stakeholders a smart view of the map we were exploring. **What do you dislike about Scribble Maps?** I don't particularly like that you can't change the color of symbols and lines once they are made. I am unsure if that is because I didn't know how to use the tool properly, but I think adding an easy feature to color change would make this tool faster to use. Another feature that I did not like was the downloading method for the map. I wanted more pixels but with different dimensions, and the image downloading options did not seem very flexible for that. I wished that importing pictures for "zoom bubble" type of imagery would have been easier as well. **Recommendations to others considering Scribble Maps:** I think this is the perfect tool for someone who needs an easy way to create a map with a group and as a team. It is flexible, constantly updating, and even has saving reminders and pauses for when data is being merged. This makes for a perfect and easy way for users and team members to work together at the same time in different places. My team of 6 was working on this map on a weekly basis and every week we would work on it at the same time. This tool was flexible in allowing that and flexible in ensuring our data and formatting was all compatible. **What problems is Scribble Maps solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are creating an interconnected map of all of the public transit routes in upstate NY. The goal was to create a trunkline along I-90 and see what transit systems were available along this route and then hand draw a map overlay of all of these systems.
