Also great for training new colleagues- I title my recordings so they can easily go back and view procedures that are done only once yearly. **What do you dislike about ScreenPal?** Sometimes, when I click the link it seems to be asking me "which thing I want to use". Technology frightens me. However, ScreenPal is something I can do and do well. It is intuitive. My niece is majoring in "human factors engineering". This major is about making products intuitive and user friendly. That is how I judge a platform. ScreenPal is more intuitive than its competitor. If it were not for ScreenPal, I would not be able nearly as effective as a teacher. **What do you dislike about ScreenPal?** When ScreenPal took over, I felt there were a few differences that I needed to wade through, but I caught on quickly. I have to say that if I have any problems, it is the user (me) and not the platform (ScreenPal). I am old and frightened of technology. **What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?** My students have limited attention spans due to social media and the pandemic. When I want to teach a new lesson of any kind- writing, grammar, reading skills- I record it first. One, it forces me to edit my handout. Two, students who are absent are privy to the information. Three, my students who lack attention can re-watch the video. Four, this removes the excuse of "I do not understand" because students are welcome to watch and re-watch the video again and again :) Last, I can upload it to Edpuzzle and embed questions to ensure kids are paying attention. This also helps with talkative classes. I do not need to teach over them; I assign an Edpuzzle with my lesson recorded by ScreenPal. I highly recommend using a document camera so that you can fill out the assignment as you explain what students need to do. ### 6. I honestly wish I would have paid more attention to the video publishing site earlier on in my use of the tool, it would have saved me from creating video hosting accounts elsewhere. The video editor works great and has tons of functions that make great videos. **What do you dislike about ScreenPal?** I think that while the video editor is highly versital and powerful, it took me a while to fully understand all the nuances of the editing tool. I do think that the sync feature when I change computers could be better... NOTE: It could be me. I thought that by storing my videos and projects to a OneDrive location would be seamless, but that didn't always happen.. I got duplicates and it was tough to sort out. Also, the video editor will just need to be rebooted if you use it too much... and I have some very long videos. I wish you could do a better job of saving "portions" of an edited video AS a smaller video, so that I can always work on the "big file" and produce "smaller files." And, I wish I could access my backed up videos through the online interface so that I could manage more clearly what is in storage and what is "referenced" in my library of files... ie- clear the clutter. **What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's easy and effective to capture my online training sessions and make great content for my channels, customers, and students. For example, when creating a video and attempting to add music at 15:00 timeline, the music is applied to the entire video. There is no option to only apply the video for that time line. Another issue is the Video Editor page which features videos were initially edited during the creation. Then there's a ScreenPal video page which features videos created, a repository, but the number of videos it contains is different from those contained in Video Editor. There appears to be no way to delete videos in Video Editor so they remain clogging up the Video Editor page. **What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?** I need to present information and lessons to asynchronous online classes. It's not for anything cinematic, but it's very useful if you're creating a short tutorial wherein you need to add captions, instructions, and highlights. **What do you dislike about ScreenPal?** This product has become expensive over the years. I've used this before and was paying a whole lot less and when I came back after 2 years, it tripled the price. **Recommendations to others considering ScreenPal:** It's an all-in-one tool for editing your basic video tutorials, I'd recommend using it instead of trying out others that may have better pricing but has lots of limitations. In the long run, you might need those little features to make your video look better. **What problems is ScreenPal solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've tried different apps, but I've had a hard time looking for one that blurs out certain areas and this one makes it easy. If recording the screen, the screen size can be set accordingly, and shortcuts like F9 and F10 to Start, Stop and Pause the recording works at its best.
