What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

I think it is somewhat convenient to have a seperate program that keeps all of the data recorded for me for classes. I have a chemistry lab I currently use this program for, and it has been pretty easy to use overall. I find it simple, descriptive, and everything I need for the class can be found there. I also enjoy that it immediately saves anything I write to it as I have not lost anything due to connection issues before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

In particular the programs interface is not pretty; it is really bland and feels like it was made in 2008. There are also a couple of minor functionality features that make the software confusing. The sidebar and navigation systems are not very intuitive and take some exploring in order to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Olivia Hulst of SciSure (formerly known as...

Thank you for sharing your experience, Jackson. We're happy to hear that it has been helpful for your chemistry lab.

We're disappointed to hear your thoughts on the interface and functionality and will consider them for future improvements.

"An asset in my college bio lab"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

My experience with eLabNext has been very positive so far, I recently began using eLabNext with my group mates in a research lab for this semester. The interface is intuitive, easy to navigate, and it's a good way to share info between group members such as keeping our lab notebook up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

Sometimes it's a bit hard to find specific documents. For example, I spent quite a while looking for the IACUC approved chemicals for zebra fish because most of our lab info is on another site and I could only find it on eLab by using keyword rather than a sort or organization function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Olivia Hulst of SciSure (formerly known as...

Thank you for your review, Lauren. It's great to hear that eLabNext is helping to address the problem of seamless information sharing and saving, and we're thrilled that it's been a great solution for your group projects.

We appreciate your feedback about the difficulty in finding specific documents. We will take this into consideration for future improvements to the platform.

"eLabNext is the future of lab journaling"
4/5
What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

The possibility to turn my daily lab activities in such clean and organized interface made my lab routine much more effective and transparent. I particularly liked how easy it made my protocols to be shared within my group. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

Because I always worked with physical lab journals, my learning curve was a bit long. However, I think this is more a personal thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"eLab has been a great experience to organize my thoughts in lab."
4/5
What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

I use eLab for chemistry labs, and it has been very helpful to help me organize my thoughts and ensure that I am not missing any information. It is very simple to use, and easy to understand, which makes it a lot easier to enter information. I use it almost everyday to complete my workload for classes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

One of the downsides of using eLab is that there are some times where it is hard to enter information in tables. There are sometimes that I have issues accessing and entering the information into a table, so I think that making the tables a little easier to operate would be better. "eLabs streamlines many different day to day aspects of lab work"
4/5
What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

Its is excellent that everything is in one place! From reagent location, ordering, protocols, and a lab notebook, eLabs truly does it all. I use it daily, and it is great to integrate PowerPoints and documents for storage of results in one place. Works great with Microsoft tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

Sometimes I feel like I am battling with the inventory browser, but recent updates have helped simplify the search process by adding more selection options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use and would recommend for important projects with many contributors."
3.5/5
What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

It is very helpful to have an online notebook that people working on the same experiment as me have access to it as well. It was easy to organize the steps of our experiment with titles and different sections. I used this notebook frequently, accessing it almost every day. It was easy to implement and integrate this notebook into my class use. I never had the need to work with customer support, and I had no difficulties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

The major downside is that multiple people working with me could not type on the notebook at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very useful for inventory, having lab protocols and following experiments"
4/5
What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

The inventory is the most useful function. It allows us to easily see what reagents we have available. Having protocols shared is useful but in this capacity, it is similar to competitors. It is nice to have protocols and experiments linked to reagents. Very useful for auditing and creating M and M sections when writing papers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

When importing protocols into experiments I wish the fillable variables were available after the importing steps. There are a few functions I wish were inherently more flexible but there is usually a work around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Olivia Hulst of SciSure (formerly known as...

Thank you for your feedback!

To use the fillable variables, you’ll just need to click ‘Restart’ first. If you need help finding the right button or setting this up, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Customer Success team, and they’ll be happy to guide you through it.

"Great for Collaboration, But Needs Auto-Save"
3.5/5
What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

The shared feature with lab groups was very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

Not having access to automatic saving of work was frustrating at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Olivia Hulst of SciSure (formerly known as...

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you found the collaboration feature helpful!

We understand the frustration of not having an auto-save feature. We do not offer this function for compliance reasons. Our Full Audit Trail is integral to our platform, and an Autosave function would disrupt it.

"Promising Tool with a great Team behind it!"
4/5
What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

Its a light-weight, app-expendable, web-based interface capable of handling experiment documentation, ordering and stock keeping as well as sample management. Superb customer support! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?

It is still a young tool, thus it is missing a lot of QoL features as well as a lot of basic functionality. it is not where it could be. The software does work fine and it works a lot better than most tools, but due to how its set up, its limiting the ways you can use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
