Poorly designed User Interface, frustrating to use **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Linnea S. | Research Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2022 **What do you like best about SciNote?** To be honest, there don't seem to be any advantages of SciNote compared to other ELNs, or even compared to recording lab work via a paper notebook. It does not allow for much customization, and the general setup is well designed. So you can't change the default, but it doesn't work as needed. **What do you dislike about SciNote?** The user interface has a terrible design, if you try to work off of what feels intuitive on the site, you end up doing the wrong thing and accidentally canceling the upload of work. Assigning permissions to projects and documents is a headache, and it constantly times out without telling you, so you'll be working on something, go to save it and find out that it didn't save because you need to log in. **Recommendations to others considering SciNote:** Use any other ELN available instead of SciNote. **What problems is SciNote solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are constantly running into the issue of people not having access to projects, but only a select few are able to assign people to projects. I would say SciNote has decreased productivity and performance, as we now have to create reports that don't work well for the science we are doing, but are compatible with SciNote. Mediocre product **Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2022 **What do you like best about SciNote?** The ability to create report templates saves a lot of time when you do the same assay many times. It's also nice that you can easily modify it so that in development mode you can tweak the template rather than start over from scratch. **What do you dislike about SciNote?** It's very clunky. It's not super intuitive so it can be difficult to navigate, and there are many seemingly redundant steps that it requires you to complete. It's also not super well integrated with other tools such as excel or JMP, so it's not a useful tool for managing large amounts of data. **What problems is SciNote solving and how is that benefiting you?** SciNote is a space for all experiments to be documented and signed off on, but as it stands there is not a ton of utility gained, as we continue to link excel documents and need to refer to multiple places to get an accurate idea of how an experiment was conducted and what the results were. **Official Response from Maša Petan:** > Hello!
