"Scilab"
5/5
What do you like best about Scilab?

Scilab(Scientific Laboratory) is free and open source software for numerical computation providing a powerful computing environment for engineering and scientific applications. For usual engineering and science applications including mathematical operations and data analysis. Graphics functions to visualize, annotate and export data and many ways to create and customize various types of plots and charts. Algorithms to solve constrained and unconstrained continuous and discrete optimization problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scilab?

I can't think of any major disadvantages, except that Xcos may not be as slick as SimuLink, Scilab documentation is not as good as that of MATLAB and Scilab to C/C++ translator may not be as good as MATLAB to C/C++ translator (although the last one is only a guess and not based on experience). Further, Scilab's collection of Toolboxes is not as exhaustive, well documents or of as high a quality as those of MATLAB. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The (free) little brother that could."
5/5
What do you like best about Scilab?

The open source, free version, and (unrelated) little brother of the known behemoth; can easily accomplish simple operations and complex numeric analysis.

A Standalone, no nonsense, no million plugins needed, and small file; this is a perfect option for either ocasional use (school homework or office) but also robust enough to be a permanent and daily use tool.

Windows, linux and Mac versions available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scilab?

Needs to add official mobile compatibility at least for proper file browsing/testing and basic editing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Experience in using SciLab"
5/5
What do you like best about Scilab?

The best free and open software for engineers to practice simulations very easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scilab?

The speed is little slow compared to matlab. Therefore it can be rectified soon so that we can make best out of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great software for high level numeric computation"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Scilab?

Really good software for higher and complex numeric analysis. This software is similar to the well known software MATLAB, but this is opensource, hence this is a free software. Highly recommended. Also is available on almost all platforms Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scilab?

Its interface is okay. It is classic and is not too attractive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Advanced version of matlab "
5/5
What do you like best about Scilab?

The best part is it is an open source and advanced version of MATLAB which can help use this tool free of cost and same features of Matlab and 3d visualization is the best part of this tool .It also acts as a unique platform to bring together codes written in different programming languages as a single unified language Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scilab?

There is nothing to dislike about this tool, best to learn and understand software for students too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Free Tool For Numerical Computations & Data Analysis "
5/5
What do you like best about Scilab?

It's got almost everything MATLAB offers and for free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Scilab?

Scilab exhibited a limitation in the size of the linear system it could solve in a complex

test problem. Also the translation to MATLAB requires some manual effort and the interface is not easily navigable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
