"Effective Parent Communication, Minor Message Timeout Issue"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I like that SchoolStatus has almost everything I need for most daily occurrences as an administrator. I appreciate being able to communicate with parents about needs, concerns, and positives without being tied to a computer. It's also nice that I can now call straight from the message without going out and back into contacts. Plus, SchoolStatus syncs to our ESchool program each night, which is beneficial, and the initial setup was very easy on my end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

In the app, I would like for a message I have mostly written up to be saved when I go back to that contact. Many times I will get interrupted mid-message to help a student or teacher and it will time out, which erases the whole message. I then must go back in to that student, the contact, and restart the message. If it wouldn’t time out quite so quick, I feel that would be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Family Communication with Minor Data Accuracy Issues"
4/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

SchoolStatus has been a great avenue for communicating with our students' families. I appreciate that we can send messages and photos via text or email, either to groups or individual families. It's also convenient that I can call and have the conversation documented. I like that if I'm not using my laptop, I can utilize the app on my phone to text or call, without using my personal number for safety reasons. It's convenient that it automatically loads information from eSchool, and I can quickly use the app on my phone to find out which class a student is in when I'm not by a computer. I like that it has an app that can be used on a mobile device, and it documents every communication with families, providing data to our schools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

The accuracy of the information that automatically loads is sometimes incorrect. For example, the Emergency contact might be starred as a favorite, but the 2nd parent isn't starred. Therefore, the information going out in a group message will go to the Emergency contact and not both parents. I think both guardians should be automatically starred as a contact to communicate with. "Exceptional Parent-Teacher Communication Tool"
5/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I use SchoolStatus every week, and often daily. I find it incredibly useful for sending reminders and sharing photos of children in the classroom, collaborating, or enjoying recess. It allows me to send Broadcast messages to celebrate things like fabulous behavior, attendance, and concentration, and even reminds me of each child's birthday, which is great for ensuring all are recognized, including those with summer birthdays. It helps take away the guesswork by confirming that every parent gets the message, and I also appreciate the ability to communicate with grandparents if they've shared their info. I love how I can get real-time feedback from parents, with quick responses like thumbs up or hearts. Sharing pictures is particularly valuable, as I can simply click a parent's name to send a snapshot, easing a parent's mind with a happy picture if the child left home upset. The setup was incredibly easy because the district takes care of most of it, aside from personal setups like passwords or Broadcast groups. I find the overall communication with families very rewarding and impactful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

I wish I could click on two parents at the same time to send a message or a picture instead of needing to create a group contact. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and Effective Communication Tool"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I really appreciate SchoolStatus for its ease of use. As a principal, even though I'm tech-friendly, I find the tools very intuitive and simple to understand. The platform allows me to quickly try and execute high-quality newsletters. I like how it shows me who has engaged with my communications, letting me see who's clicked on what and how long they actually spent reading my newsletters. The translation feature is incredibly valuable, as it translates messages to parents' home languages, ensuring that even if I'm communicating in English, the message is effectively translated for non-English speaking families. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

I would love to see a feature where if parents had already viewed a message, it maybe doesn't get counted twice. Also, some kind of repository for parents to go back and find past newsletters, especially if they missed a previous month's newsletter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Parent Communication with SchoolStatus"
5/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I find SchoolStatus extremely useful for parent communication. It simplifies keeping in contact with parents by allowing me to send quick messages, make direct calls, or leave voicemails for parents to listen to later. I really love how easy it is to emphasize positive aspects, like sending a quick message to brag about a student's progress. As a special education teacher, it makes scheduling meetings and providing progress updates so much smoother. Parents can also reach out with their questions, and I can respond efficiently. I absolutely love the transcription feature which lets me refer back to meeting discussions and assist in addressing any questions that arise afterward. SchoolStatus is my go-to tool for all parent contacts! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

The only issue I have is that it does not notify me when a parent returns my call. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Parent Communication, But Needs Integration"
2.5/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I mostly use SchoolStatus to communicate with parents and find student accommodations, and I appreciate how it allows student accommodations to be shared easily with teachers. I like that I can see how often a student has had communication from school through texts, emails, and calls, and whether a parent responded. This helps me decide if I need to contact the parent differently. The ability to make a phone call from my laptop is particularly helpful because I don't have to use my cell phone or a school hard-wired phone, and it records the conversations, showing there was contact. It was also pretty easy to learn to use the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

I don't know if it is a software issue or just the way my school district does things, but to me it is frustrating to use around five different software programs to keep up with different aspects of school. It should all be in one program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Parent Communication, Needs AI Tweaks"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I find SchoolStatus very convenient for parent communication in my role as a 6th-grade math teacher. It is the primary way I communicate with parents, and I love that it allows for an easy direct line of communication via text, email, or call, depending on what the parent and I prefer. I also love that it has an app both teachers and parents can download, making the use of the application so effortless. Messages are received by parents extremely fast, which makes on-the-spot messaging easy. I also like that I can make group messages, and everything is archived/documented. It's helpful that I can attach links and images, make announcements, and so much more. The initial setup was simple as we had a live training session with one of SchoolStatus' leaders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

There are character limits in the messages which could be improved. Also, I'd like to see enhancements in the AI input for parent communication, including options to rephrase or an AI to help start the communication with little effort from the teacher. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Parent Communication with SchoolStatus"
5/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I really appreciate the convenience of using SchoolStatus. I can use my own personal devices without having to search for a school phone, which is handy for quick communication on the go. If I am having trouble with a student in class, I can immediately contact his/her parent discretely. Usually, within minutes, the parents will text their child and the problem is fixed. I also love that it records all conversations, making it easy to track what has been communicated with parents, so there's clarity and accountability. Using my own device helps protect my phone number, allowing privacy while still enabling parent contacts. I can set specific times for receiving calls, allowing me to manage my availability effectively. The initial setup was easy, and having the students already integrated into my classes is extremely convenient. I find it particularly helpful for sending reminders about tests or contacting parents via text, as texts are more likely to be seen compared to emails that might get lost in spam. Overall, it's a wonderful time-saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

SchoolStatus works pretty good. My only issue with it is that it emails me notifications, but sometimes the whole day goes by and I don't look at my email until the next day. I wish it would have a little pop-up on my screen telling me that I have a message in SchoolStatus. On my phone, it does that if notifications are on, but I don't use my phone during the day, so I'm never checking it for notifications. I just wish it would work with my school computer that I have open all day long. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Ultimate Communication Tool for Educators"
5/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I use SchoolStatus for communicating with parents, and it solves the language barrier for our Spanish-speaking parents by translating my English into Spanish. I also appreciate that it lets me send one big email to all the parents at the same time, solving the problem of sending a message one at a time. What I like most about SchoolStatus is that it saves time. I love that I can download it on my phone, so I'm not glued to my desktop. Being on the go and able to talk to parents and text them is really valuable, and having something so convenient is amazing! Additionally, the initial setup was very easy. "Centralized Communication but Issues with Call Stability"
5/5
What do you like best about SchoolStatus?

I appreciate SchoolStatus for having everything in one place, like phone numbers and emails, and the ability to text or call from one place, which makes communication with parents much more streamlined. I love that I can go back and look at my communications, providing me with a reference if I'm missing a piece of information. It's really helpful to verify something I told a parent, such as a date or a fact. The setup was also very simple, with SchoolStatus linked to our emails for easy access. What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?

I have had issues this year with calls dropping. But that could be an internet issue. I am not sure of the cause. Sometimes I will attempt to make a call and it does not connect and will drop before there is a connection. I have also had calls drop in the middle of a conversation.
