## SchoolStatus Reviews
  ### 1. Great for Outreach, but Needs More Teacher Control Over Contacts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tonya W. | Inclusion Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

What I like best about SchoolStatus is how it simplifies parent engagement. The ability to call or text parents directly from my computer or the app. . .without sharing my personal phone number. . .is a gamechanger. I also appreciate that it automatically logs every interaction, which makes documentation for IEPs and student records completely effortless.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

The primary drawback is the inability for classroom teachers to update student contact information. Because we have to wait for the administrative team or office secretaries to make these changes, there can be a delay in reaching parents when a number changes. A more decentralized way to manage contact updates would streamline our daily outreach significantly.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform solves the problem of 'scattered information' by putting student attendance, grades, and contact info on one card. This benefits me by allowing me to see exactly how a student is performing before I pick up the phone. It makes my conversations with parents much more professional and data-driven because I have all the facts in front of me.

  ### 2. Effortless Parent Communication, Instant Responses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin B. | High School Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2020

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I use SchoolStatus to send a weekly message to parents to inform them about their child's activities in class and periodically update them on grades and behavior. I like the convenience of being able to message parents directly from my cell phone. I appreciate that I can quickly send a text message and get an immediate response, which saves me a lot of time as a teacher. The initial setup was very easy since our school uploaded all the contacts, and all I had to do was click on a specific child to message parents. I seriously have not had a single issue with SchoolStatus.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

Nothing

**Recommendations to others considering SchoolStatus:**

It’s a game changer! If you are wanting to create great parent/teacher Communication, SchoolStatus is the way to go. It sends texts messages directly to their phone and you are given a unique phone number to keep yours private!

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus to easily communicate with parents via text, saving me time by messaging directly from my cell phone and receiving immediate responses.

  ### 3. Convenient App and Web Access That Makes Parent Calls Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayanna h. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I like that SchoolStatus offers both a web version and an app. The app has been really convenient for me when I’m on the go and need to call a parent. However, if I need to send a broadcast, I prefer the web version because it’s much simpler to use. I will add that I have some problems with the app from time to time. It will load and say that I have no contacts or parents in it. But it is a simple fix when I close the app and restart it. I haven't had to use the support option due to the interface being easy to use.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I don’t like that the app sometimes doesn’t show any contacts, even when I know they’re there. It can be really inconvenient in the moment.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SchoolStatus is solving the "issue" of me having to use my own personal number to call and contact parents. With everything that is going on in the world, it add an extra layer of protection.

  ### 4. School Status is a complete package for teachers.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa D. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2020

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

After using school status for a number of years. I can truly say it is a great tool for teachers. I especially like the broadcast feature.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I would like to be able to create subgroups easier. It would be nice to send a broadcast to a select group of students and not have to go through each one of my classes and individual students to do so. A tick mark to send the broadcast would be helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering SchoolStatus:**

I would advise training teachers/staff on how to use it. Then, letting them do a trial run to test it out.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The documentation of parent contact is solved. SchoolStatus completes all needed documentation. The benefit of only having to log into one site for my student information is extremely helpful. The way it is set up is very user friendly. I like to be able to show students their scores and grades. The color coding makes that easy. I also like how I can star and make notes regarding student information.

  ### 5. Great for Parent Communication

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allicia T. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I like how it keeps everything in one place and makes communication feel simple and consistent. I can easily message parents, send updates, and even share reminders without worrying about whether it’ll actually reach them. It helps me stay connected with families in real time, which is huge, especially when I need to quickly address behavior, celebrate a student, or give a quick academic update.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

Sometimes the notifications aren’t as reliable as I’d like. I’ve had moments where I sent something important and wasn’t sure if parents actually saw it right away, which kind of defeats the purpose of quick communication. Along with that, not all parents consistently respond through the platform, and we can't tell exactly which parents have interacted, so I still end up using multiple ways to reach people.

The interface could also be smoother. It’s not terrible, but there are times where it feels a little clunky or takes extra clicks to do something simple, especially when you’re in a rush during the school day. And when you’re juggling a full classroom, those extra seconds matter. There’s definitely room to make it more user-friendly and efficient for teachers.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SchoolStatus solves the problem of inconsistent communication, scattered student data, and low family engagement by bringing everything into one easy-to-use platform. It allows me to quickly connect with parents, track communication, and access important student information all in one place. Because of that, I can stay more organized, address concerns faster, and build stronger relationships with families without adding extra stress to my day.

  ### 6. Powerful Tool for Parent Communication and Student Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Annetha B. | School Counselor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

SchoolStatus has been an essential tool in improving communication between school and home. As a school counselor, I appreciate how easy it is to connect with families through calls and text messages without using my personal phone number. The platform keeps a detailed record of all communication, which is extremely helpful for documentation and follow-up. I also value having student data, attendance, and communication history all in one place—it saves time and supports more informed decision-making.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

One challenge is that communication depends heavily on having updated parent contact information, which is not always accurate. Additionally, there are times when notifications (such as missed calls or responses) could be more consistent or noticeable.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SchoolStatus helps bridge the gap between educators and families by making communication more accessible and efficient. It allows me to reach parents who may not be available during the school day but can respond to messages later. This has improved family engagement and helped support student success through stronger home-school connections.

  ### 7. Clear parent communication, but reliability and messaging workflow need improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allison B. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

It documents our conversations clearly. It also makes it easy for parents to contact us, and for us to stay in touch with parents as well.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

It doesn’t update properly when I’m using it in the browser. Overall, it hasn’t been reliable or consistently working throughout the year. It’s also not easy to upload pictures and documents as supporting documentation for students. On top of that, it feels too easy for items to be removed or deleted from students’ information. It’s also difficult to access the dates and times for when parents were contacted or when they sent messages. Sending messages now takes too many steps. I do like the message preview, though.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is keeping documentation of parent conversations. It allows me to contact parents with one message. Do like the broadcast option.

  ### 8. SchoolStatus Makes Student Progress Tracking and Family Communication Seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aley Z. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

SchoolStatus simplifies complex data, making it easy to track student progress and identify needs. I love how it centralizes communication, allowing for seamless, logged interactions with families via text or call. This transparency fosters stronger relationships and ensures every educator is on the same page to support student success effectively.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

SchoolStatus can suffer from outdated contact information, which disrupts communication. Technical issues—like missed call notifications and inaccurate automated translations—can also hinder parent engagement. Additionally, it could be overwhelming without clear "office hours," being considered as constant availability.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SchoolStatus solves the problem of fragmented data and communication barriers by centralizing student performance and parent outreach. It benefits you by providing actionable insights instantly, saving time on administrative tasks. This streamlined approach ensures more meaningful family engagement, directly leading to improved student attendance and academic outcomes.

  ### 9. Real-Time Parent Messaging Makes Communication Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda P. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I like that I can message parents in the moment and they can respond immediately. It makes it easier to reach out during the day instead of having to wait until the end of my work day to address praises or issues

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

Sometimes things aren't easy to find. We use it to upload IEPs to as well and you have to download them in order to see them instead of using the preview button. It would also be useful if you could see when other teachers have already called/messaged a parent about something.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us solve the time and energy it takes to go look up a parent, then find a school phone to make a call, and having to wait until the end of the day to make contact.

  ### 10. Easy Private and Public Messaging for School Updates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abril T. | Secretary, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

Being able to send messages privately and publicly to parents and family about school events and information.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

One thing I do not like is having to go through all the classrooms to choose the ones I want communications to go to. If the classes were grouped by main teacher and electives, it would be much simpler to select more than one class. Another thing is attachments; I have not figured out a way to make the picture show up in the message portion and not just an attachment. If there was a way for the photo to show up in the message body it would be alot better.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There was an update not too long ago that made syncing parent information updates smoother and faster.

  ### 11. Simple Parent Contacting with Organized Records and Easy Clever Access

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christy Z. | ESL Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

1. I like that it is very simple to contact parents on School Status.
2. I like that School Status keeps a record of each contact that my administration can see.
3. I like the organization of the program.
4. I like how easy it is to access in Clever.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

Nothing. The only thing that is frustrating is when the student phone numbers are wrong, and I cannot get in touch with a parent. But that is a school problem, not the program's problem.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives me a simple way to communicate with parents. It also translates for my parents since I teach ESL, which is great! I do not have to worry about keeping up with documentation about conversations with parents any more!

  ### 12. Flexible announcements and delivery tracking, but password resets can be a hurdle

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miranda T. | Kindergarten Elementary Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I like the fact that there are so many options when you post an announcement. You may allow comments or select not to allow comments, along with how it is received and where. It's an easy way to track who receives it also. It makes it convenient that some parents can receive a text, an email, or notification the review the announcement or message.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I dislike that some parents have trouble if they get logged out and are unable to find their password. Our tech department seems to have little info on how to fix that on our end.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does an excellent job with communicating to ELL families and makes it easy on both ends of the conversation by translating for us.

  ### 13. A Vital Tool for Streamlined Educator-Guardian Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I use SchoolStatus to communicate with the guardians of my students. Immediate contact with parents/guardians allows me to often resolve issues before they evolve into bigger situations. I also get to brag and praise the students regularly, prompting parent/teacher communication because everyone likes getting good reports. Overall, SchoolStatus is an easy way for educators to communicate constantly with parents/guardians of their students. I like that it has an app so that I can monitor and send messages from my phone—I do not need to be in front of my desktop/Chromebook to access the program. It was very easy to set up, and it is easy to navigate. I would rate it a 10 for streamlining so many different things to make communication and access to information easier.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

The discipline data should be more detailed.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus to communicate with parents and resolve issues quickly. I can praise students often, prompting positive communication. It's an easy way for ongoing contact between educators and parents.

  ### 14. Straightforward UI for Mass Communication and Student Research

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

It’s great for mass communication with a large audience without having to know or share phone numbers. It’s also a helpful resource when I’m researching a particular student. The UI is straightforward, easy to navigate, and simple to use.

It integrates well with our existing Google Sign-In, so we don’t need an additional set of credentials.

I also like the AI translation features, which allow students and parents to receive information in their preferred language.

Overall, the website’s performance is consistent, though it can sometimes be a little slow when updating or moving between pages.

Pricing seems reasonable, but it isn’t part of my direct job responsibilities. That said, I can confirm that using SchoolStatus has become part of our district’s long-term plan, and the district clearly sees the ROI as worth it.

When we first adopted and rolled it out, we were trained specifically on how to use SchoolStatus, and updates since then have been communicated through email.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

The dropdown menu for toggling between years is set up by single calendar years instead of school years (for example, '25–'26). This makes it harder to track information, since teachers work within school years rather than calendar years.

I’d also like the ability to send both emails and text messages in a single broadcast message, but that option isn’t currently available. In addition, I would like to receive a copy of these communications to my own email so I can see exactly how they come through.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a teacher, I need to do a lot of mass communication with parents, and School Status works really well for that.

Our district also uses it to track student discipline in an organized, well-managed way.

  ### 15. Convenient Communication for Educators, But Phone Call Issues Persist

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** DAWN B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I use SchoolStatus both as a professional and as a parent. Professionally, I like the convenience of being able to communicate with parents through text messages for sending reminders, checking in, or informing them about what's coming home. It's great that I can access parent phone numbers instantly from anywhere, whether I'm at work or home, without sharing my personal cell number. As a parent, I enjoy receiving reminders about school activities, which is nice and helpful.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I sometimes cannot make phone calls because the phone never rings and/or the parent never hears my voice. This happens on both laptop and cell phone. Honestly, I usually try to use a land-based line at work because the call feature can be frustrating, so I don't usually try it.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus to communicate with parents easily and conveniently without sharing my personal number. It helps me access parent contacts from anywhere, and as a parent, I receive handy school reminders.

  ### 16. Efficient Parent Communication, Needs Better Notification Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy S. | Teacher Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I like using SchoolStatus because I can connect with the parents of my students easily, whether by sending a quick text or setting up parent-teacher conferences. I appreciate that I can post pictures and share updates about classroom activities, making it simple for parents to stay involved. It's convenient to send a quick text without disturbing parents unnecessarily, and it's also easier for us teachers who are busy with other kids. I like how I can see if a parent has read the message, which is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I wish that, for example, my social worker could post things for the parents and families without me getting a notification for it. I wish I could just get notifications for my classroom. Our classroom has 2 teachers, but our building has PTO, a social worker, speech pathologists, OT specialists, and they all post resources for the families. If I silence them, I miss out on notifications from my parents, co-teacher, etc. But I do not need the resources and get them ALL DAY.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus to communicate with parents easily via text, ensuring they read my messages. It lets me share updates and pictures of classroom activities, set up conferences, and text without disturbing parents, simplifying communication.

  ### 17. Streamlined Parent Communication with a Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jalexia G. | Math Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I use SchoolStatus for parent communication, and one problem it solved for me is not having to use my personal phone number to talk to parents. I love how SchoolStatus automatically records all calls, whether incoming or outgoing. I like the ease of communication with parents. I can choose to make a 'broadcast' to all scholars' parents, select a group of parents, or chat with each parent individually. It just makes communication with parents pretty seamless.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

SchoolStatus is not beginner-friendly. If one is new to using the SchoolStatus program, it can easily be confusing as there are a lot of different tabs to choose from. But, once you get the hang of it, SchoolStatus is pretty easy to maneuver. There is definitely a learning curve. When making a broadcast, you have to go through the entire list of faculty to find your name, then all classes that you taught in order to begin a broadcast. It is quite time-consuming because you have to go through that process every single time. And some of the names are listed multiple times.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus for parent communication. It allows me to communicate without my personal phone number and records all calls. It simplifies communication by letting me broadcast to all parents, a group, or chat individually, making it seamless.

  ### 18. Efficient Evaluation Tool with Personalized Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexa D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I find SchoolStatus very easy to use, both for evaluators and teachers. It simplifies tracking who needs observations or evaluations each year, which helps us stay organized. The customer service is very responsive, making any troubleshooting straightforward. I appreciate how SchoolStatus accommodates our district's needs by allowing us to tailor rubrics and observation evaluation cycles. Tracking is simple, and each year we can easily manage staff tags for observations and their evaluators.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

There is a limit of how many staff that we can add. It would be nice if it was just a site license and it was unlimited. I would like to see some sort of heat map that shows easily which subcomponents are rated highest overall and which ones are rated lowest. That would help us to maybe set some goals with staff and identify some areas for professional learning.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SchoolStatus keeps us organized by tracking different observation needs and centralizing paperwork for years. It simplifies uploading rubrics and tailored evaluations, meeting our district's needs.

  ### 19. Great for Privacy, Needs a User-Friendly Interface

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allison B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I like that SchoolStatus has conference scheduling built in, allowing families to easily sign up for conferences. I can export the schedule with ease and assign families, which makes organizing things efficient. I also appreciate how the app protects my personal privacy by not sharing my personal number, yet still lets me respond on my cell phone.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I think the interface isn't super user friendly. It's hard to find things that I need like how to add a student. I also don't like that every year, teachers create a new profile for students instead of using the students existing one so the directory for our school is huge. I also dislike how it limits my messaging, the character limit is too short. Also parents complain it can be hard to connect to my classroom.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus for communicating with parents on a single platform, scheduling conferences, and keeping my personal number private. The app lets families sign up easily and allows me to export schedules and assign families, while protecting my privacy with app-based responses.

  ### 20. Broadcasts Make Parent Communication Fast and Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vanessa T. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

The most helpful tool about school status is being able to send broadcasts to parents when sending home newsletters about upcoming events, both academically and social. This makes communication easier for teachers to immediately connect with parents about important information.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

Something I dislike about school status is that when you try to put a phone call with a parent on speaker, the volume is not very loud. I like to write notes down about the conversation, so I like having free hands to grab items (ex: grabbing academic or behavior data) if need be. I have used both an iPhone and Android and both devices cannot use the speaker phone option effectively.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At times, School Status can be down such as when needing to communicate with parents, there wouldn't be any contact information for any of my students. However, when School Status is down, they make their best effort to relaunch their platform.

  ### 21. Effective Parent Communication, Minor Message Timeout Issue

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derek B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I like that SchoolStatus has almost everything I need for most daily occurrences as an administrator. I appreciate being able to communicate with parents about needs, concerns, and positives without being tied to a computer. It's also nice that I can now call straight from the message without going out and back into contacts. Plus, SchoolStatus syncs to our ESchool program each night, which is beneficial, and the initial setup was very easy on my end.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

In the app, I would like for a message I have mostly written up to be saved when I go back to that contact. Many times I will get interrupted mid-message to help a student or teacher and it will time out, which erases the whole message. I then must go back in to that student, the contact, and restart the message. If it wouldn’t time out quite so quick, I feel that would be beneficial.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SchoolStatus helps with communication with parents and offers features like monitoring attendance and discipline records. It provides almost everything I need for daily occurrences as an administrator. I like that it allows communication with parents without being tied to a computer.

  ### 22. Effortless Family Communication with Minor Data Accuracy Issues

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

SchoolStatus has been a great avenue for communicating with our students' families. I appreciate that we can send messages and photos via text or email, either to groups or individual families. It's also convenient that I can call and have the conversation documented. I like that if I'm not using my laptop, I can utilize the app on my phone to text or call, without using my personal number for safety reasons. It's convenient that it automatically loads information from eSchool, and I can quickly use the app on my phone to find out which class a student is in when I'm not by a computer. I like that it has an app that can be used on a mobile device, and it documents every communication with families, providing data to our schools.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

The accuracy of the information that automatically loads is sometimes incorrect. For example, the Emergency contact might be starred as a favorite, but the 2nd parent isn't starred. Therefore, the information going out in a group message will go to the Emergency contact and not both parents. I think both guardians should be automatically starred as a contact to communicate with.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus for communicating with students' families via text, email, or calls, which are documented. It keeps my number private, loads data from eschool for accuracy, and allows class lookup on mobile. It helps maintain school data by documenting communications.

  ### 23. Exceptional Parent-Teacher Communication Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jodi F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I use SchoolStatus every week, and often daily. I find it incredibly useful for sending reminders and sharing photos of children in the classroom, collaborating, or enjoying recess. It allows me to send Broadcast messages to celebrate things like fabulous behavior, attendance, and concentration, and even reminds me of each child's birthday, which is great for ensuring all are recognized, including those with summer birthdays. It helps take away the guesswork by confirming that every parent gets the message, and I also appreciate the ability to communicate with grandparents if they've shared their info. I love how I can get real-time feedback from parents, with quick responses like thumbs up or hearts. Sharing pictures is particularly valuable, as I can simply click a parent's name to send a snapshot, easing a parent's mind with a happy picture if the child left home upset. The setup was incredibly easy because the district takes care of most of it, aside from personal setups like passwords or Broadcast groups. I find the overall communication with families very rewarding and impactful.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I wish I could click on two parents at the same time to send a message or a picture instead of needing to create a group contact.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SchoolStatus simplifies communication, ensuring every parent receives messages without extra effort. I love engaging with families by sharing pictures and getting quick feedback from parents, like a thumbs up or heart.

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I really appreciate SchoolStatus for its ease of use. As a principal, even though I'm tech-friendly, I find the tools very intuitive and simple to understand. The platform allows me to quickly try and execute high-quality newsletters. I like how it shows me who has engaged with my communications, letting me see who's clicked on what and how long they actually spent reading my newsletters. The translation feature is incredibly valuable, as it translates messages to parents' home languages, ensuring that even if I'm communicating in English, the message is effectively translated for non-English speaking families.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I would love to see a feature where if parents had already viewed a message, it maybe doesn't get counted twice. Also, some kind of repository for parents to go back and find past newsletters, especially if they missed a previous month's newsletter.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus to communicate mass information efficiently, and it translates messages into parents' home languages, ensuring clear communication. It helps me track engagement, showing who has viewed or interacted with my newsletters.

I find SchoolStatus extremely useful for parent communication. It simplifies keeping in contact with parents by allowing me to send quick messages, make direct calls, or leave voicemails for parents to listen to later. I really love how easy it is to emphasize positive aspects, like sending a quick message to brag about a student's progress. As a special education teacher, it makes scheduling meetings and providing progress updates so much smoother. Parents can also reach out with their questions, and I can respond efficiently. I absolutely love the transcription feature which lets me refer back to meeting discussions and assist in addressing any questions that arise afterward. SchoolStatus is my go-to tool for all parent contacts!

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

The only issue I have is that it does not notify me when a parent returns my call.

  ### 26. Streamlined Parent Communication, But Needs Integration

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I mostly use SchoolStatus to communicate with parents and find student accommodations, and I appreciate how it allows student accommodations to be shared easily with teachers. I like that I can see how often a student has had communication from school through texts, emails, and calls, and whether a parent responded. This helps me decide if I need to contact the parent differently. The ability to make a phone call from my laptop is particularly helpful because I don't have to use my cell phone or a school hard-wired phone, and it records the conversations, showing there was contact. It was also pretty easy to learn to use the software.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I don't know if it is a software issue or just the way my school district does things, but to me it is frustrating to use around five different software programs to keep up with different aspects of school. It should all be in one program.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus to share student accommodations with teachers and contact parents easily. It lets me see the school's communication with parents and identify unresponsive contacts. Making calls from my laptop records the conversation, so I don't need my cell or a hard-wired phone.

  ### 27. Effortless Parent Communication, Needs AI Tweaks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brookelyn M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I find SchoolStatus very convenient for parent communication in my role as a 6th-grade math teacher. It is the primary way I communicate with parents, and I love that it allows for an easy direct line of communication via text, email, or call, depending on what the parent and I prefer. I also love that it has an app both teachers and parents can download, making the use of the application so effortless. Messages are received by parents extremely fast, which makes on-the-spot messaging easy. I also like that I can make group messages, and everything is archived/documented. It's helpful that I can attach links and images, make announcements, and so much more. The initial setup was simple as we had a live training session with one of SchoolStatus' leaders.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

There are character limits in the messages which could be improved. Also, I'd like to see enhancements in the AI input for parent communication, including options to rephrase or an AI to help start the communication with little effort from the teacher.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus for easy parent communication through text, email, or calls, which parents and I prefer. The app is user-friendly, messages are fast, and everything is documented. I can make group messages, attach links/images, and make announcements effectively.

  ### 28. Efficient Parent Communication with SchoolStatus

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stacey S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SchoolStatus?**

I really appreciate the convenience of using SchoolStatus. I can use my own personal devices without having to search for a school phone, which is handy for quick communication on the go. If I am having trouble with a student in class, I can immediately contact his/her parent discretely. Usually, within minutes, the parents will text their child and the problem is fixed. I also love that it records all conversations, making it easy to track what has been communicated with parents, so there's clarity and accountability. Using my own device helps protect my phone number, allowing privacy while still enabling parent contacts. I can set specific times for receiving calls, allowing me to manage my availability effectively. The initial setup was easy, and having the students already integrated into my classes is extremely convenient. I find it particularly helpful for sending reminders about tests or contacting parents via text, as texts are more likely to be seen compared to emails that might get lost in spam. Overall, it's a wonderful time-saver.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

SchoolStatus works pretty good. My only issue with it is that it emails me notifications, but sometimes the whole day goes by and I don't look at my email until the next day. I wish it would have a little pop-up on my screen telling me that I have a message in SchoolStatus. On my phone, it does that if notifications are on, but I don't use my phone during the day, so I'm never checking it for notifications. I just wish it would work with my school computer that I have open all day long.

**What problems is SchoolStatus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SchoolStatus to contact parents efficiently, giving updates and addressing behavior problems. It's convenient, protects my number, records conversations, and allows me to set office hours. The initial setup is easy, and the text function ensures messages are received despite email spam.

It's really helpful to verify something I told a parent, such as a date or a fact. The setup was also very simple, with SchoolStatus linked to our emails for easy access.

**What do you dislike about SchoolStatus?**

I have had issues this year with calls dropping. But that could be an internet issue. I am not sure of the cause. Sometimes I will attempt to make a call and it does not connect and will drop before there is a connection. I have also had calls drop in the middle of a conversation.

It's great that I can send out a blast text to all parents, which keeps my personal phone from being inundated with calls. I especially appreciate how it keeps my personal phone number private while still maintaining that personal connection with families. The initial setup was a breeze.

The phone app will tell me that I have pending notifications when I have already responded. It can be especially frustrating when I need to send out mass text to parents.
