One of the best features of School Messenger is ease of use. Very intuitive, and easy to send messages effectively. Includes detailed reports and account of all messaging attempts. Also, very easy to simultaneously send messages in a second language and send push notifications to websites and social media. Another strong benefit of School Messenger is the robustness of the App. I can schedule and send messages and have access to the full features through my phone when I am away from the office. There are many steps included to sending a messaging. When communicating during a crisis, time is a critical factor. I wish there were a way to streamline the messaging during a crisis. Like an option to send a "quick message to all..." feature Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We were able to communicate quickly and easily to our parents, students and staff with just a few clicks when needed. We were able to extract any field out of our SIS that we wanted to be able to communicate by (Bus Number, EL status, etc). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We had to do a lot of custom scripts to pull the information from our Student Information System as there was no API available for the SIS we were using (Chalkable). I am sure they have APIs available for other Student Information Systems, but we really had to work to get the data in. Also, in the end because we were so large, we needed a dedicated support person we could contact, and while they told us they would give us one, in the end we did not wind up with a single source contact. School Messenger is very easy to use, with a minimal training time. It's a great way to send mass emails, texts, or phone messages, and there is good support from their customer service team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is nothing to say that we particularly dislike, but some training items will take a bit longer to work through, like manually loading a user vs. PowerSchool rolling them over. The only other item to note about School Messenger vs. other communication platforms is that texts are limited to 160 characters whereas others like Alert Solutions will allow you to go over that and have multiple texts send out the full message.
