What do you like best about SchoolAuction.net?

The training webinars they offered 3 times/week Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolAuction.net?

Not near as intuitive as it could be. Too many steps to accomplish basic tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Vanessa Beyers of SchoolAuction.net

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We’re sorry the software didn’t end up being the right fit. SchoolAuction.net is designed to handle many event types and features, which can take a little time to get comfortable with—especially for first-time event organizers.

Your refund was pro-rated based on the several hours of personalized Zoom and email support our team provided before cancellation. While many customers are able to set up their events independently, we’re always happy to provide one-on-one assistance when extra support is needed. We’re glad you enjoyed our live training webinars and appreciate your feedback as we continue improving the experience for new users.

What do you like best about SchoolAuction.net?

The service was excellent. I felt like my questions were answered accurately and in a timely matter. I also loved all of the exports and built in reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolAuction.net?

It would be helpful to have the ability to easily email the attached certificates to winning bidders. Sometimes, uploading the photos for some of the header pages needed some revisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Vanessa Beyers of SchoolAuction.net

Hi Tiffany,

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review! We're glad to hear you enjoyed our timely replies from the Support team and found the reports helpful. Good news—our software does support directly emailing gift certificates to auction winners. I've included the link for more info on how to do that below (G2 won't let me change the link name from what they've assigned it - "See how SchoolAuction.net improved" - but it contains the right info).

You're right that header images sometimes require tweaking, since they automatically resize based on device screens. For best results, we recommend images that are at least twice as wide as they are tall. This helps ensure the banner displays well across a range of devices and minimizes resizing issues. More tips on images can be found by searching our Help library for the article titled "Uploading a Banner Image" (I'd include the link here for you but unfortunately I'm limited to 1 link on this platform). Or you can always reach out to our Support team for more help with image sizes.

Thanks again for your feedback, Tiffany—it helps us continually improve!

What do you like best about SchoolAuction.net?

Easy to use, great help guides, great polished website/user experience for bidders, great reporting functionality Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolAuction.net?

-Wish we could've pre-scheduled custom text messages to be sent during the live event.

-Wish we could guarantee all processing fees would be covered via extra donation (although the help guide clearly explains The Offset Fees feature is not electronically connected to the actual credit card fees charged by your merchant account and are set by you as a means of reimbursement for MOST of the fees banks charge so do not expect an exact accounting match.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Vanessa Beyers of SchoolAuction.net

We're glad to hear that you find SchoolAuction.net easy to use with great help guides. We also appreciate your feedback on the pre-scheduled custom text messages and processing fees. For the text messages, we will take this into consideration for future updates. And for the processing fees, we now have two options for asking your supporters to cover fees/costs associated with your event: Offset Processing Fees (only) and the Last Ask (configurable for donations to cover cc fees, as well as other fees/expenses). You can learn more about it here: https://www.schoolauction.net/last-ask/ or you can reach out to our Support team via the Help widget in your event site. Thank you again for your feedback and we look forward to working with you again!

What do you like best about SchoolAuction.net?

I really like that SchoolAuction.net allows our existing merchant gateway processor, Authorize.Net, to integrate into their platform opposed to other platforms that may be limited and require you to use their preferred partner, e.g., Stripe. For us, this simplifies the process and reconcilation versus adding an additional payment platform to learn and manage. I say this from experience when we had switched for a brief time to a different competitor of SchoolAuction.net for handling our events. The payment and transaction reports focused on various aspects, i.e., by payment type, by donor, by item, etc., was most helpful for my reconcilation needs each month, whereas the other platform couldn't offer this level of reporting, which caused a lot of manipulation within an Excel spreadsheet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolAuction.net?

We have two main fundraising events a year that we use SchoolAuction.net for. Being involved in the event setup/implementation process for the first time this year, I did feel a bit overwhelmed with the different areas that needed to be completed, not knowing what was pertinent info and fields to complete or how things would or wouldn't appear on the end-user web interface for our event. However, it was encouraging to know that a rep with SchoolAuction.net was there to review our event setup to review for completeness and/or troubleshooting all along the way. The reps were most helpful anytime we reached out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Vanessa Beyers of SchoolAuction.net

Thank you for sharing your experience with SchoolAuction.net! We are thrilled to hear that you appreciate the flexibility of integrating with your existing gateway processor and the detailed payment and transaction reports we provide.

We understand your concerns about feeling overwhelmed during the event setup process. Next time there are new auction chairs, or if you'd like a refresher for yourself, I'd recommend joining our Getting Started webinars. We hold them every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are here to help and ensure your fundraising events run smoothly. Thank you for choosing SchoolAuction.net!

"Easy, complete, and accurate"

What do you like best about SchoolAuction.net?

Schoolauction.net keeps accurate records of everything I could possibly need. Anything I want to do, they have a way to enter and track it. I can use the product for simple events and for huge events, and it's fairly easy to teach others to help.

They are also very quick to answer my questions when I send them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolAuction.net?

There are so many options that sometimes I get confused on what I really need.

Sometimes I would prefer to talk to someone on the phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Vanessa Beyers of SchoolAuction.net

We're pleased to hear that SchoolAuction.net is helping you completely manage and track your fundraisers. We understand that the array of options can be daunting, and we're dedicated to providing clear guidance and support. We offer weekly Getting Started webinars that can be really helpful - if you're not sure how to sign up for those, send us an email at support@schoolauction.net and we'll point you in the right direction. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review; your input is valuable, and helps us make the platform even more user-friendly.

"A Robust Website That Needs a Little Help"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SchoolAuction.net?

There are a lot of options for auctions, raffles, and selling items for a fundraiser. It's basic in places that make it easy to use for people that need a good website that works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolAuction.net?

The help is not always helpful. They need to go through and make the helpsite easier to use and have more links to they parts of the site the help refers to.

Also, they need to make it easier to make changes to the look of the website and be very clear about what you can and cannot change. Keep all the customization abilities in one place or access from one place to make it easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Vanessa Beyers of SchoolAuction.net

Hi Dawn,

It's great to hear that SchoolAuction.net has been beneficial for your fundraising efforts. We value your input on the help resources and customization features, as we always strive to make improvements for a more user-friendly experience. I did want to touch on a couple things in that regard - unfortunately we can't include direct links for every item in our support articles that take you right where you need to go in your event site because every customer has a unique URL, so there's no "one link fits all" solution. However, we understand that not everyone processes information the same way, so we do our best to offer support through a combination of live links to setting/data pages, images, linked articles and videos, webinars, and detailed descriptions of how to best work with the software to achieve your desired outcome. Thanks again for your feedback and we hope to help with your next event!

"All in one solution for auctions"

What do you like best about SchoolAuction.net?

It is a very thoughtful and comprehensive solution for a school auction.

It has a very broad spectrum of functions and various models to make any auction successful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SchoolAuction.net?

The site could use a bit more "a-la carte" services in places and less in others. Its top off class though so I really have no big complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Vanessa Beyers of SchoolAuction.net

We're thrilled to hear that SchoolAuction.net is helping to move your school auction forward into the digital age. We appreciate your feedback and will consider your suggestion for more customizable services to further improve our platform. Thanks again and we look forward to working with you on your next event!
