I really appreciate how the Scale Computing Platform simplifies the process of setting up virtual machines (VMs). Unlike VMware, which involves numerous settings and layers that I find cumbersome, Scale Computing allows me to stand up a VM in just thirty seconds. This streamlined process makes it significantly easier to manage resources efficiently and be more nimble in making them available for specific applications or departments. The platform provides a much cleaner and simpler view for editing and modifying VMs, helping to avoid issues that can arise from misconfigured settings often encountered in more complex systems like VMware. Its simplicity and efficiency are truly valuable to me as they save me considerable time and allow my IT operations to be faster and more flexible. This agility is particularly beneficial in our 24/7 operational environment, where quick and adaptive responses to VM needs are essential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With the latest software update I can now copy/paste over to VMs from my local machine which has proved super helpful. Additionally, while setting things up initially was straightforward, transitioning VMs from VMware to Scale has been challenging. As our facility operates 24/7, taking VMs down for hours during the transition is impractical, and the tools we've used, such as Acronis and now OpenText, while functional, have made the process lengthy, especially for large VMs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
