**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I use the Scale Computing Platform for all of our virtualization needs because of its outstanding platform performance. Our migration was easy, and the support has been excellent. I appreciate having a platform that is easily scalable with a clear upgrade path, which was important to our organization. Moving from our previous platform was simple and straightforward with no complications. The support was available every step and continues to be a valued resource when we have questions. Additionally, the initial setup was very simple; after just a few short conversations, we had a plan in place with the Project Manager and their team.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

So far we have been totally happy with our purchase and decision

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find the Scale Computing Platform provides ease of management, outstanding performance, and a straightforward approach. Our migration was simple with excellent support. It's easily scalable with a clear upgrade path, offering significant cost savings.

  ### 2. Streamlined VM Management & Improved VM performance after migration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly S. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I really appreciate how the Scale Computing Platform simplifies the process of setting up virtual machines (VMs). Unlike VMware, which involves numerous settings and layers that I find cumbersome, Scale Computing allows me to stand up a VM in just thirty seconds. This streamlined process makes it significantly easier to manage resources efficiently and be more nimble in making them available for specific applications or departments. The platform provides a much cleaner and simpler view for editing and modifying VMs, helping to avoid issues that can arise from misconfigured settings often encountered in more complex systems like VMware. Its simplicity and efficiency are truly valuable to me as they save me considerable time and allow my IT operations to be faster and more flexible. This agility is particularly beneficial in our 24/7 operational environment, where quick and adaptive responses to VM needs are essential.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

With the latest software update I can now copy/paste over to VMs from my local machine which has proved super helpful. Additionally, while setting things up initially was straightforward, transitioning VMs from VMware to Scale has been challenging. As our facility operates 24/7, taking VMs down for hours during the transition is impractical, and the tools we've used, such as Acronis and now OpenText, while functional, have made the process lengthy, especially for large VMs.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find the Scale Computing Platform simplifies VM management, making it easier to set up and modify VMs with a cleaner interface. It avoids misconfiguration issues common in complex systems like VMware, leading to smoother operations and increased efficiency. It is also much easier to stand-up new VMs compared to VMware.

  ### 3. Scale Computing - among the very best choices I have made as a network manager.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary B. | Network Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2023

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

When creating VMs, setting up the # of CPUs, allocated memory and disk space is incredibly simple. I've set up VMs running Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, Windows 10, Centos 7, and Redhat 8. In my opinion, one of the best features of Scale Computing is how easy I can manage my VMs.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Scale doesn't (at the time of this writing) support Microsoft's VM-Generation ID feature. This feature is intended to allow for the safe rollback of a Domain Controller from a snapshot when there is more than one Domain Controller in use.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had numerous hardware platforms that were approaching (or had outlived) their end of life. These included database servers, file servers and user resources, such as print servers. Numerous old servers could not be upgraded to the newest Windows editions and we were experiencing hardware failures. Moving everything to Scale Computing gave us an avenue to escape from hardware refresh headaches.

With Scale we eliminated a great deal of hardware by virtualizing these functions. We reduced our physical footprint and the cost to operate and cool all that hardware. Another big win was being able to virtualize and operate older operating systems when licensing or compatibility issues precluded a move to anything newer. Scale helped us assemble and use tools to virtualize some very old systems which would be impossible to keep running as hardware.

  ### 4. Rock solid performance - great tech support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | Director of Technology, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I like the simplicity of the Scale Computing Platform vs VMWare and HyperV. Prior to moving to Scale Computing we had a full 7' rack of equipment and another half rack to run our environment. With that were a multitude of cables that were hard to keep up with, and we didn't even have advanced failover features such as VMotion, etc.
Scale Computing simplified the entire setup dramatically with less cabling and just a few rack units of space in comparison. Plus it comes with the more advanced failover, high availability and disaster recovery features out of the box.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

There is not much to dislike about Scale Computing in my opinion. If I had to choose one thing it would be that new downloaded virtual machines are a little more difficult to deploy because they are typically made for VMWare or HyperV and usually not for Scale or KVM. That is a small inconvenience though.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Virtualization solves a lot of our issues already but easy management of that virtualization is where Scale shines. The simplicity of the setup and the knowledge from their support department allows me to have multiple staff members who can help manage it if needed.

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

It is very quick and easy to get going with Scale. Out of the box experience is very smooth and the assistance provided by support was on target and simple to follow. You don't need experience with other solutions to get this running reliably.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Due to its ease of us, some features that power users would like are missing. There is no virtual networking, there is no storage management, there is no native support for OVAs. While it can convert the containers, it requires an SMB share which may not be available in some environments. Additionally, there is no timeout for the hypervisor admin login (well, there is but I was told its 12 months), which may be a major security concern for some.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a reliable solution to host a handful of VMs during a transition from data center to cloud. This product was priced right, and provided the performance we needed. End users had no idea their systems had moved to another location.

  ### 9. Highly Scalable with Exceptional User Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Conor M.

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I use the Scale Computing Platform as our primary virtual environment and appreciate its scalability with resources, space, and time. The platform is really easy to use and offers great flexibility to system administrators. My favorite part is the user experience because, despite being new to virtual environments, I found Scale easy to understand and use. I think the ability to effectively re-allocate resources quickly is crucial, as it allows us to solve performance problems on our production VMs. The setup was also very easy, thanks to the streamlined process by the Scale support team. I also like that we switched to Scale from Veeam due to better pricing and scalability.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Maybe development of some kind of full login page for all of your Scale clusters. I am aware of the feature within the console to navigate to other clusters, but I feel like it could be easier to use/understand.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scale Computing Platform allows us to be scalable with resources, space, and time, providing flexibility to system administrators. It's easy to use, helping solve performance issues on production VMs by reallocating memory, space, or CPU power efficiently.

  ### 10. Streamlined Interface, Needs Real-Time Resource Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike M.

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I appreciate how Scale Computing Platform offers ease of use for migrating our existing VM workload and building out new VM infrastructure, which is crucial for modernizing our IT operations. The streamlined interface and functionality are great for the day-to-day management of virtualized infrastructure, saving time and resources and enabling our IT team to focus on other priorities. The initial setup was quite easy and the documentation is clear, plus their deployment support is great to work with.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Scale Computing Platform is definitely lacking in a few areas such as adding or modifying VM resources in real time without the need to power down the VM. Integration with major backup vendors is another concern, although this is less of an issue now with official support for Veeam. We’ve faced limitations when adding or removing NICs without rebooting the server, or changing the VLAN assignments to the vNICs. There are also bugs, like adding a second vNIC causing a blue screen on the server, which haven't been resolved.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use the Scale Computing Platform for an easy transition from VMWare and efficient VM infrastructure management, saving time and resources for other IT priorities.

  ### 11. Affordable, Scalable Solution with Quick Setup

**Reviewed by:** Jay S. | Network Analyst, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I like the scalability of the Scale Computing Platform. I'm able to quickly and easily spin up new instances while also making virtualization changes without affecting our production environment. I can add resources on the fly to production servers and create new server stacks as needed with very little effort. The platform is also affordable, offering similar performance at a lower cost than the previous solution we used. The initial setup was very easy, thanks to their quick setup guide, which takes very little expertise to work through, and with snapshot recovery, setup was finished quickly.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I'm not a huge fan of the interface. It feels outdated. Error message pop up in the field of view, not able to suppress or move them to a different view. Also, we are not able to add or customize the widgets showing stats on the portal.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed by:** Ian M. | Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

This has been a rock solid platform, that was incredibly easy to set up and start using. This ease of use partly comes from the software's focus and lack of bloat that 99% of users don't need. This also means that some fringe use cases may not find Scale appropriate for all their needs. In my experience though, the vast majority of customers evaluating alternatives to VMware and Nutanix would likely find Scale the more compelling choice. And, if you ever need it, Scale's support team has been wonderful to work with and very quick to answer questions.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Scale, being a smaller company developing this software platform means that the giants in the industry may have advantages when it comes to feature rollout and additional product compatibility, in our case Rubrik backup appliance support. We needed to find another solution for our backups (we went with Acronis Cyber Protect). If you just need a straightforward hypervisor solution that doesn't break the bank, this has been a great choice though.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Drop in replacement for VMware cluster that was too expensive to continue licensing. We gained much more horsepower for significantly less money.

  ### 17. Effortless Scalability, High Availability

I like the Scale Computing Platform because the support is awesome. They are very responsive, care about everything, and always get to the bottom of the issue. Also, the initial setup was easy enough to get started, which is great for us.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The Intel hardware that they used in some products gets unresponsive after a short while and we have to replace it.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Scale Computing Platform for compute and storage on our marine fleet, solving our virtualization needs effectively.

  ### 25. Scale HC3 is the evolution of hyper-convergence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randy Y. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2019

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Using scale is like a dream compared to other more complex systems. It is so easy to set a new VM and clone a template. No need for a big training to get up to speed. No need for an office expert to help you manage all your systems. Managing 60 VMs is not problem and multiple people can all have access to their part. This is truly one of those technologies that does save you time.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Running Scale HC3 on our existing hardware is not available yet.

**Recommendations to others considering SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite:**

Scale HC3 is a great solution for IT departments that need to worry about other item other than their server clusters and high availability. It basically freed up a half time employee by switching over to this new system.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Replacing a VMware cluster and Equalloic SAN with cables going everywhere. Easy deployment of new VMs be anyone in the tech department.

  ### 26. Smooth Implementation and Seamless Operation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Everything just worked. We set up virtual machines and they just worked. The back end configuration was all set. We have been running for around 8 months without a single issue.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The only issue I have with the product is the way VLAN traffic is handled. Everything is on the default VLAN and so when you need to use additional VLANs you have to tag the VLAN in the VM. Also, the VM migration is painful.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scale Computing Platform is filling the gap left by the exodus away from VMware due to massive price increases. The solution is solid, and just works. VMs were migrated to Scale and everything has run flawlessly without a single hickup. Performance is fantastic.

  ### 27. Seamless Platform for VM Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The Scale Computing Platform is seamless and straightforward to use for IT administrators. It was relatively easy to implement the Scale nodes for the first time as Scale support technicians are very knowledgeable and willing to help. The remote connection tool built into the HyperCore System is very cool as it allows multiple users to view the remote display at the same time. Lastly, when receiving remote support, it is really easy as there is a remote connection tool the support technicians can use with your permission to connect to the server nodes in question.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Everything has been great with Scale except for one instance where we had a drive fail after around 6 months of using the Scale nodes, which is a bit concerning. The support around this was exceptional, however, as we received a replacement drive with expedited shipping free of charge. There was no data lost as the drives run with redundancy.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scale Computing helped us modernize our on-prem infrastructure with both hardware and management software that outcompetes the competition. Rather than feeling left behind by the industry moving into the cloud, Scale Computing provides modern solutions for customers who use on-prem servers.

  ### 28. Simple and flexible services for a K8 school

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rich C. | Director of Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I love how simple it is to set up and manage. We don't need a lot of features, bells and whistles that we'll never use. Affordably priced as well.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

we have had some bumps in getting started. Wrong nodes were built but Scale caught it before shipping. Had what we thought was a bad hard drive but turned out to be a bad controller. Support sent out a new unit pretty quick so all is good. I'm a little concerned about microservers quality of hardware but time will tell. The only thing I really dislike is console access in VM's. It's not as good as VMware remote web access.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scale is simplifying our managment and VM use. From cost savings (Compared to VMware and its hardware requirements.

  ### 29. Elmwood School Scale HC3 installation.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Besides the manufacturing delay. Set up and schduling for online support to onboard the cluster was great. HC3 interface is simplistic to use compared to VMware Vcenter .

Spinning up VM was flawless comapred to Vmware or Virtual box Able to see metrics in Fleetmanger was good but could use more details and better graphs.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Idid notice their documentation neeeds to be updated. Thier netowrking guide needs to be based on current switches and Cisco Model. Fleet manager and HC3 Node login needs multiple MFA support beside Okata. DUO or Microsoft Azure MFA app needs to be included. Able to do bare metal and VM backups without snapshots to NAS or Azure or Google Cloud could improve.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving away from aging Vsphere ESXI 6.3 after Broadcom bought out VMWare and Replacing outdated end of life EMC Storage after 12 years from use.

  ### 30. Easy and Awesome Product

**Reviewed by:** Jason M. | SEO Specialist, Web Design, IT Guy, Automotive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

It was super easy to setup, support is quick and friendly, and is American based. The cluster we purchased was slightly oversized but we purchased as recommended, and it came in handy because we were able to add a bit more we weren't planning too.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

There is not one thing I can we dislike about it. It has been a pleasure working with the company from start to finish, and even now.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It replaced VMWare, allowing us to seamlessly transition.

  ### 31. My experiences with Scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** robert s. | Director of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

It's easy to use, easy to set up, but right now, the thing I like best is that it is easy to transfer existing VMs from an old cluster to a new one. No more robocopy! Customer support is very well trained, speak English as their first language, and are interested in helping me resolve my issue.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The fact that you no longer sell and configure switches to connect nodes and network

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scale has almost eliminated the huge learning curve normally associated with learning a new virtualization solution. It took me 20 times longer to learn VMWare as opposed to Scale. Scale is FAR more intuitive than other solutions.

  ### 32. Finally servers with scalability without the strings attached.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad M. | Sr. Network Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2023

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

It is versatile and grows with our needs. Has an immutable layer for backups. Very straight forward to set up new VM's.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Haven't found anything we dislike with the platform. Some updates only apply to certain hardware platforms and the updater will keep saying to "update" even though it doesn't apply.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a server with redundancy for our core applications and network services and the ability to grow without major capex investment and rebuilding like other vendors do.

  ### 33. My Scale computing Review

**Reviewed by:** Mark L. | Technical Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The ease of its implementation, support and use of the platform.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I would need more trainings on the platform

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem is how virtualization and migration used to be difficult. through scale, Virtualization and envoronment management becomes easier.

  ### 34. New to Scale from VSphere

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** john Y. | Sr. Systems Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2025

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The Scale computing platform is laid out in a simple format. An experienced administrator will be able to configure the platform and vm's without much instruction. The iconic format is easy to remember.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The only downside I've seen as a new user is that certain software companies do not support the Scale platform.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a virtual environment to handle a small number of our virtual servers. So Scale Computing has provided a solution for migrating from VSphere.

  ### 35. Scale Computing is an ideal replacement for VMWare

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon B. | VP of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2024

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The best thing about the Scale platform is the simplicity of implemenation and maintenance. It reduces the amount of training needed for technical staff responsible for maintaining infrastructure. Having implemented multiple systems for ourselves and our clients over the last 5-7 years I can say confidently that the technology is reliable and technical / customer support is effective and easy to work with.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Really the only downsides I've found in working with the Scale platform is it is limited in it's ability to connect to external storage sources (like mounting in iSCSI target to import VMs) and the lack of a fully featured virtual networking module. These are features that aren't needed 95% of the time, and there are other ways to accomplish just about everything.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scale has solved our need for a virtualization platform that is (a) simple to manage, (b) can easily grow and expand as our needs change and (c) provide options for offsite replication. As an alternative to the hypervisor host + SAN architecture we used in the past, it's reduced our infrastructure expenses significantly over 5 years.

  ### 36. Nothing has had a greater impact on our IT efficiency than moving to the Scale Computing Platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam H. | IT Manager and Network Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The Scale Platform is the absolute easiest, most intuitive, and most attractive hypervisor I've ever seen or used. The ability to manage every VM from a browser dashboard is a wonderful experience. Prior to the adoption of the Scale Platform, our servers were spread over 3-4 different pieces of different hardware, all with different interfaces, quirks, and efficiency. Condensing all those different server systems into the neat and clean Scale node cluster not only increased efficiency, but it also improved hardware clutter in the server room. It's not an exaggeration to say that moving to the Scale Platform changed our daily lives here in the land of IT Administrators. Part of my daily routine is to ensure I have a Scale tab open in a browser to have the overview of our systems active during the day. Being able to see a real-time overview of all resources and server performance gives a peace of mind I didn't know I needed before we adopted the Scale Platform.

The interface also makes implementing new servers so easy, it's actually shocking! I've never seen a hypervisor this easy to use. It's really as easy as pressing "+", filling out a few boxes, selecting specs, and done! Absolutely insane! The GUI also grants the interactivity with the life-changing snapshot imaging backup system that is so efficient and helpful that I don't know how any IT Admins survive without it in these days of Microsoft constantly releasing OS breaking updates on the regular.

Lastly, the integration with our technical infrastructure from our old systems was made incredibly easy by the amazing Scale customer support staff. They guided well through the entire process, and I have to say the Scale customer support team is the best support I interact with, period. They are always fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Plus, they are all US based, which is awesome! Techs can connect directly to our Scale cluster via a built-in support tunnel, which means they can connect within minutes to investigate, review, and help solve any issue. The Scale Computing Platform is, overall, the greatest technical investment we've decided on in the last decade.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

There is a major flaw in the Scale hypervisor that must be addressed. I've actually already had detailed and extensive conversations with Scale management and development regarding this issue in 2023.

It was discovered when trying to improve storage levels by deleting unneeded files throughout our servers that Scale does not have the ability to scan and recover previously occupied storage blocks within Windows partitions. This feature is called "trimming", and it is an existing and included tool in the hypervisor of Scale's competitors. It is difficult to describe how frustrating this is when literally dozens of hours of overtime were/are required to execute an absurd workaround process to recover unused space from all our servers. As previously mentioned, other hypervisors do have trimming tools built-in, so the fact it took me months of complicated and risky work to recover our unused space was infuriating, to say the least. This lack of feature development meant we had terabytes of empty storage space that Scale would not recognize as empty. YES, TERABYTES! I find it rather unfortunate this particular issue exists when Scale Computing enthusiastically tries to sell new hardware with more storage space as a major selling point, both for local Scale Computing clusters and for their Scale Cloud Unity backup service. This is beyond uncool. Someone less observant or diligent than I could have easily overlooked or not resolved such an issue.

To my knowledge and as of this review, Scale has not made me aware of any advancement in the development of this critical feature, and I'm highly disappointed in this.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Scale Computing Platform also resolved our needs for efficient and reliable backup systems, through the snapshot feature and Scale's Cloud Unity backup and recovery service.

  ### 37. Simple and affordable to use for Lean IT teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ethan S. | Director of Cybersecurity and IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2024

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The most helpful thing about Scale Computing is how easy it is to use, set up and maintain. The Number of Features is exaclty what I need to run. Their Customer Support is fast, friendly and knowledgable.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The only downside with Scale for me is lack of integrations with third partys. Scale is improving this however with new partners coming about in the recent years.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simplified my server stack by having one vendor to call. My storage and computer are all one vendor and its easy to resolve the issues without the blame games.

  ### 38. Scale just works.

Seems easy to set up and configure up to a point, but then there are some issues.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Trying to set up a new server and can't figure out how to make it work like ESXi or VMWare.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Scale for our servers onsite and hosting the VM's

  ### 40. Scale Computing is super easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I really like the ease of set up and use. It was easy to implement, their support is top notch. It works well in our environment, and I do not miss Veeam at all.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

I wish it had native Veeam supoprt and a few more options regarding networking.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a small footprint of servers that have to be local. The Scale computing platform allows us to virtualize them, snapshot them, and have them highly available all at a reasonable cost.

  ### 41. Robust, yet easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Owen S. | VP of IT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2023

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Setting up new servers is a breeze. Replication to other clusters was also simple to set up. The learning curve is not huge with Scale, and the support is top-notch. Glad we made the move!

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

One thing I don't like, but it isn't hard to do, is that I have to clone a server if I want to change replication partners. Again, it doesn't take long, I'd just like to be able to do it on the fly.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a small IT shop, and complex virtualization systems take too long to learn and administer. Scale saves me time in everything we do in it, to include creating servers, setting up replication, testing snapshot recovery, etc.

  ### 42. Satisfied Scale customer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2024

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

We found the Scale Computing Platform to be very competitive from a cost stand point compared to VMware and other hyperconverged solutions. It was very easy to install and get up and running. The admin portal to intuitive and easy to use without any formal training. Scale support is first class and has always been very helpful.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

The Scale Computing Platform is not as feature rich as other, higher cost hyperconverged solutions but has been adequate for our needs.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scale has simplified our server virtualization platform by elimitating the need to purchase seperate storage and compute stacks.

  ### 43. A Strong and Simple Hypervisor Solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Scale is very easy to use on a daily basis. Having used their solution for nearly 5 years, I can't think of a time I've ever been stuck or had issues with their platform. When support is required, they've been quick and helpful to respond. Implementation was as easy as installing the hardware into the rack with cables, and let them handle the rest. We were able to migrate most of our VMs over with little support.

**What do you dislike about SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite?**

Scale is a locked-down solution. They don't license their platform to your own hardware. Their additional hardware support only lasts for 5 years from the purchase of the hardware, and their software support ends 2 years after that. I would prefer a solution that can be supported beyond this point. Also, since they are a smaller player in the field, some applications don't integrate nicely unless you choose one of their partners. For example, they have an integration with Acronis, but we use Veeam and therefore need to rely on agent-based backups.

**What problems is SC// HyperCore Virtualization Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a small IT team of 2, we needed something that would be reliable and easy to use. Scale does that very well as we seldom have to worry about the cluster. Any issues we have are resolved quickly with support.

  ### 44. Simplifying infrastructure for SMBs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars
