What do you like best about SBS CyberSecurity?

Although I now perform most of the CISO functions for the bank's Information Security Program, it’s beneficial to have a dedicated resources at SBS to guide me through the complexity of managing the governance, risk management, and regulatory & compliance requirements around InfoSec and CyberSecurity. We are in our 2nd year with the vCISO service, but are now at a “mentor” level vs Pro when we were initially creating a new and improved Information Security Program for our "new" bank/

Additionally we utilize SBS’s TRAC cybersecurity Risk Management solution developed to simplify cyber risk management. It helps with the completing tedious risk assessments and produces customized results that align with regulatory requirements, best practices and the bank’s strategic goals. To build a strong Information Security Program, the bank must have strong risk assessments in-place that help make informed decisions.

They are quick to respond, kind and always treat you with respect. I never walk away feeling silly for asking a simple question that may be well known but I do not understand. I have had moment of panic throughout this transition and they have always been able to ease my fear and concerns into a learning opportunity. When our ISO retired, and I assumed those duties we had a limited amount of time and a wealth of informaion to cover. Being a small organization in an ever evolving cyber space, we needed expertise, guidance and a partner to help us continue to be proactive in our programs while continuing to offer a high level of security. Through their VCISO program, we were partnered with a consultant that has been istrumental in the tranisiton. We have gained valuable guidance, learning, and growth through these conversations. SBS CyberSecurity identified some areas that needed improvements as well as needing additional details in our policies. SBS offered documents to help with this task. Our team struggled with using two different platforms . One area was using TRAC and the other area was using Field. Field was not easy to use and we didnt know all the steps. We had no guidance on what to do within that program once we uploaded our documents. We were not aware to mark complete once we uploaded. It would make it easier if all assessments used one system and a short step-by-step document was given on how to upload and what to mark. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you are having several assessments completed by SBS I would request a list of individuals who will be handling each assessment along with contact information from your rep once the contract is signed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SBS CyberSecurity?

They are very knowledgable, and their TRAC products are great although they take time to get off the ground. They partner with KnowBe4 so that makes it easier as far as billing to have one less vendor to work with directly all the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SBS CyberSecurity?

They can't keep good sales representatives. We are on the forth one right now and counting because he is only temporary until they find a replacement in our area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SBS CyberSecurity:

While their TRAC modules don't cost too much in a dollar sense, it takes a lot of time to do it right. The benefits are worth it in the end. Their help desk is great and training on those services, but realize you are committing to a lot of time and effort for most of the modules.

Their audit services are great. Be open to suggestions. It doesn't mean you have to accept everything they say, but they are almost always going to have a solid reason they are making the suggestion.

One thing we have regretted a little is that they don't resell the top tier option for KnowBe4. I don't have pricing on that so I can't say whether it wouild truely be worth it, but it doesn't make sense to only offer one or two tiers and not their highest level. They are helping with IT Audits, External Penetration Tests, Comprehensive Network Testing, Virtualization Audits, Wireless Audits, and more. We are using five of their TRAC modules, and have contracted one of them as a vCISO for over 6 months. We have met some of their employee at the Ohio Bankers League meetings. We contract with SBS for several services including vCISO and vulnerability scans. The vCISO service has elevated our overall ISP with the expertise of our vCISO and the tools he uses and training and guidance he provides our team. We have a much better BIA and BCP/DR policy as well. The vulnerability scans are completed like clockwork with results available to use within a day of the completion of the scan.
