**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2024

**What do you like best about SAS Viya?**

The optionality to build pipelines visually or hard coded. Also, the openenss of the platform to integrate with other solutions in the market.

The power of the platform really comes with combining different modules. SAS Model Manager, Intelligent Decisioning, Visual Analytics etc. The whole suite makes it more valuable.

**What do you dislike about SAS Viya?**

SAS Studio tends to be quite laggy, which can be frustrating. I frequently have to clear my cache to try to improve its performance. Another issue is that whenever I click on nodes in Studio, a frame immediately appears, and I find this very annoying.

**What problems is SAS Viya solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAS Viya provides the ability to conduct more in-depth analyses compared to other analytical software. It also allows customers to engage directly with the data, rather than simply receiving static datasets.

  ### 44. Viya Powers Through Massive Workloads with Ease

Python/R integration is good — but not perfect
Yes, Viya supports multiple languages, but:

Some features are SAS‑first

The Python/R APIs can lag behind

Debugging outside the SAS ecosystem can be clunky.

**What problems is SAS Viya solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No more jumping between tools

Faster iteration

Fewer handoff errors

Clearer governance and lineage

  ### 45. Analytics Without Limits: My SAS Viya Experience

Its intuitive interface and powerful APIs accelerate deployment and reduce time-to-insight. For organization aiming for enterprise-grade analytic without compromising agility and SAS Viya is a game-changer.

**What do you dislike about SAS Viya?**

Although SAS Viya supports open-source integration, connecting it seamlessly with existing enterprise systems can be complex. More out-of-the-box connectors would simplify deployment.

**Reviewed by:** Sneha G. | Senior Executive | Events Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2023

**What do you like best about SAS Viya?**

Recently, I’ve found SAS Viya’s integration with AI/ML workflows much smoother and more intuitive. The platform has continued to evolve with improved model deployment and monitoring capabilities, making it easier to operationalize analytics. I also appreciate the enhancements in its data governance and lineage features, which provide greater transparency and trust in data-driven decisions. The user interface feels more responsive now, and the tighter integration with cloud services has made collaboration and scalability even more seamless.

**What do you dislike about SAS Viya?**

Although the platform is improving, the breadth of features can still feel overwhelming for new users. Documentation has expanded, but more hands-on tutorials, guided workflows, and in-platform learning aids would make the adoption curve less steep. Also, while Viya is powerful, some advanced customizations require significant technical expertise, which might challenge smaller teams without dedicated data engineers.

**What problems is SAS Viya solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scalability: Handling large volumes of data efficiently is a common challenge. SAS Viya's distributed computing capabilities enable processing and analysis of massive datasets, allowing for insights that might otherwise be difficult or impossible to uncover.
