"Interactive Matrix Programming"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAS/IML?

This is an excellent proc step to write your statistical concept in which we can run SAS/STAT and leverage the statistical ideas to analyze and display the data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAS/IML?

As of now, we don't see any features that we should dislike about the procedure. I would highly recommend that users actively use this, get the logic, run your analysis, and present the data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Handy to be able to perform matrix calculations, annoying that it is a separate (expensive) package"
2.5/5
What do you like best about SAS/IML?

Being able to perform matrix calculations can be necessary for certain statistical analyses, and you can only perform these with SAS IML. You can also call R using IML, which can make advanced calculations easier than trying to do it solely in SAS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAS/IML?

It's very frustrating how expensive this separate package is. I am not sure about the exact pricing, other than that my organization is not willing to pay for it because there are less expensive alternatives (R, Python, etc.) that can perform these calculations. "Provides both a matrix language and an interface between SAS and R"
5/5
What do you like best about SAS/IML?

The fact that it provides an interface between SAS and R, thus enabling users to accomplish various data mining tasks without additional expense Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAS/IML?

Cost. Since it is a separate module one can only enjoy its capabilities by purchasing it. I think that its interface with R should be part of base SAS Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
