The SAS BI suite of clients work well together to set up an accessible BI framework. In my experience users have been able to make modifications easily, reducing the burden on the BI staff. It looks like it would complement the rest of the BI clients, especially in the first stages of an analysis. It is very important, as it is with any BI system, to carefully develop the granularity of the objects made available to users. It can become very easy to generate garbage results if this isn't done. SAS BI combined with the underlying SAS compute engine makes the tool a jack of all trades. Using the stored process feature combined with information maps and the portal, I can build a web-site to do just about anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about SAS Augmented Analytics & Business Intelligence? As a system administrator, I dislike the lack of an established work-flow for managing content and data in SAS BI. Aside from the built-in security of the Metadata and the underlying OS security, there seems to be very little to help promote governance, consistency and 'a single view' of data and information. The SAS-user mentality has traditionally been every-man-for-himself, and this seems to translate into SAS BI as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. If you can pick up your stored process and run it, with little-to-no modification, in any of the SAS App Servers in your environment, you have maximized the availability of your business process to as many users as possible. Basically working on all the Business Metrics which are previously created manually on excel but we have automated it till the visual reprsentation on the BI dashboard and ID Portal. I now have an alternate path of developing online dashboards and reports without relying on my core vendors. We also validate our systems to general ledger daily in a few minutes. We are deep diving into our data more so than we ever did before with the commercial report writers.
