My favorite aspect of SAS was the power behind it. Macros were extremely useful while working for a contract research organization. I like the Data Visualization features in SAS Business Intelligence. It is very helpful to have a visual representation of data, especially when creating reports or presentations. SAS solution is robust and comprehensive as compared to other products in the Business Intelligence industry. The end to end solution offered by SAS BI, which includes platforms ranging from performing bulky ETL work to providing power users to create informative dashboards, packs a neat punch. Further on SAS Business Intelligence platforms does a great job to use robust metadata management, effectively screening out the semantic layer from actual data structures. What do you dislike about SAS Augmented Analytics & Business Intelligence? SAS/Access Interface to Hadoop. Since Hadoop is a relatively new technology SAS/Access to Hadoop is not stable. Base SAS along with other packages cover almost the whole gamut of statistical analysis and techniques.SAS programming syntax can be considered as a high level language which is intuitive and easy to learn compared to other softwares like R.The extensive library of pre defined functions and user defined gives it an edge over other softwares. I handle large volumes of retail transactions and need SAS for various statistical procedures like univariate , multivariate, ANOVA, ANCOVA and lots of others for various analyses.The benefits of working with SAS are in terms of time saved if no data manipulation is required and a huge library of pre defined and optimized functions to be used in data and procedure steps.
