"Detailed Oriented Team Delivered"
5/5
What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

The flexibility. I enjoy having access to a system that allows us to design digital workflows that work with our labs. In the past, with much more rigid systems, it was more re-work of laboratory practices to work with a system. Not with this ELN! In addition, utilizing agile workflows, we were able to test and implement individual workflows as well as to test integrations along the way! Couple this with a great team at Sapio - it makes all the difference! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

Obviously having a more open software leads to the introduction of bugs. This is more of a fact of life, then a downside of this particular ELN. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yuri de Lugt of Sapio LIMS

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're excited that Sapio ELN's flexibility and agile workflows have made a positive impact on your lab. It's great to hear our team's support has been a highlight for you! We appreciate your understanding of the challenges with open software and remain committed to ensuring the best experience. "Customizable LIMS System with Good Customer Support but Poor Documentation"
4/5
What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

Sapio comes with a lot of good to decent apps out of the box that work within our system. What's especially great though is the fact that we can add our own plugins and webhooks that interface with our other information databases and accurately map out our experiments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

I really dislike the documentation of how Sapio Apps work. Most of the App Setup backend is obtuse and can require either a lot of trial and error or multiple demos to fully grasp, and that's just for 1 user. If we have to train another user then we have to rely on our own documentation or try to refer to the barebones Exemplar End User Documentation.

Thankfully, over the last year there has been a concerted and much appreciated effort from Sapio to expand their documentation and simply our ability to ask questions. The Sapio Sciences Support Portal is a great step forward, but still lacks much of the necessary documentation for specific apps. I look forward to more pages written within it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Richard Halton of Sapio LIMS

We are so very glad to hear that you are taking advantage of the out-of-the-box apps, plugins, and webhooks within Sapio. As you know, we continue to focus on improving our documentation—we are moving fast. Stay tuned for many more improvements. Thanks - The Sapio Team.

What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

Sapio provides a foundation - the platform that guarantees the reliable storage of records. There is a ton of tools they provide on top of that for keeping track of experiments, materials, and data. The tools are inherently customizable so that we get process tracking to match our specialized workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

Sapio documentation does not provide best practices for the use of their tools. In fact we have to try and test things to figure out what practices to adopt. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Richard Halton of Sapio LIMS

Thanks so much for your kind review and rating. We continue to invest heavily to improve our documentation, so your feedback is very useful and timely - Sapio Team.

"Sapio LIMS Review"
4/5
What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

The web-based access allows access from any instrument in the lab. This is great for rapidly uploading data at the point of creation into the database. The fundamental ability of the system to represent complex biological workflows is the single most important and attractive feature of this system. Combined with the ability to tune it to our specific needs, this makes data tracking for large numbers of entities very easy in the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

Building views and generating reports is a little too dependent on the support from the team. While we appreciate the rapid turnaround and fantastic product support, features that allow us to glean data as is from the system would be nice to have in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yuri de Lugt of Sapio LIMS

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback! We're thrilled to hear how Sapio's web-based access and ability to represent complex workflows have streamlined your processes. Your note on improving self-service reporting capabilities is invaluable, and we'll pass this along to our product team. We're glad Sapio provides the robust backbone you need for high-throughput and insightful data analysis!

"Sapio: The All in One Platform; Jack of All Trades"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sapio LIMS?

Sapio is one of the most customizable platforms I have ever had the opportunity to use! Our current use is pushing the platform's capabilities to its limits, and it is succeeding at delivering our ELN needs. My experience using this platform is pretty positive thus far. However, there is a steep learning curve when it comes to learning the fundamentals and the features available for a particular solution. That being said, customizing how your data is stored, related, and found is extremely useful. Finding data is very easy once you understand the search functionality. I would recommend this platform to anyone who needs high customizability when it comes to an ELN solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sapio LIMS?

The biggest issue I have with Sapio is the lack of training documentation. It took me nearly three months of constant trial and error before the system started making sense to me. What elevated my understanding of the platform was being directed during support calls and tickets. If you are considering Sapio as your ELN of choice I would make sure to have ample time to learn the platform and what features will be available to you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Richard Halton of Sapio LIMS

Thanks for taking the time to review Sapio Sciences, we appreciate it. Sapio is actively addressing the training and documentation issue; with new hires in that department, we will soon provide you with an array of news education resources to take advantage of.
