"Essential for Accurate Sustainability Insights"

What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

I find the Footprint Calculation and Scenario Analysis tools in SAP Sustainability Footprint Management super valuable. Footprint Calculation helps accurately measure emissions and other impacts based on activity data. Scenario Analysis lets me model different strategies to reduce footprint, like switching suppliers or optimizing logistics. These features help businesses make data-driven decisions for sustainability goals. I also appreciate the seamless integration with tools like SAP EWM, SAP S/4HANA, and third-party systems for streamlined data flow. Users often combine it with Power BI or Tableau for advanced analytics and visualization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

One area that could be improved is the integration with non-SAP systems. Sometimes getting data in from external sources can be a bit tricky, requiring extra effort for data mapping or formatting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful SKU-Level Footprinting That Drives Better Product Decisions"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

Most tools stop at overall emissions, but this one lets you calculate footprints per product or SKU. That’s powerful because decisions (pricing, sourcing, design) happen at product level, not just company level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

Setup is heavy and not beginner-friendly

This is probably the biggest pain point.

• It’s not plug-and-play

• Requires deep SAP knowledge + backend integration

• Takes time before you see value

Users consistently say the initial setup is “unnecessarily complicated” and requires significant effort to integrate data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong ERP Integration and Solid Scope 1–3 Drill-Down with Audit-Ready PCF"
4/5
What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

For me, ERP integration is the best point. For already S4 Hana, huge data = BOMs, Procurement records, logistics is already there and can be easily utilised. Pipelines is simple. Product-level Scope 1, 2, and 3 drill-down is solid, and when a customer asks for the PCF of a specific part number, we can now produce it with an audit trail. What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

UI is classic SAP, it's functional, but not delightful. Onboarding new users requires a lot of patience. And lastly, Pricing is for big enterprises which have minimum 150,000 records, and thus smaller organisations have to rethink and consider multiple times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Deep SAP Integration That Unifies Finance, Supply Chain, and Sustainability Data"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

Deep integration with SAP ecosystem

If a company already uses SAP S/4HANA or other SAP tools, data flows directly—no messy manual consolidation. Finance, supply chain, and sustainability data connect in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

Too dependent on high-quality data

The tool is only as good as your data.

• Needs accurate supplier data (Scope 3 especially)

• Requires complete ERP + emissions datasets

• Data gaps = unreliable insights Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Carbon Emissions Tracking, User-Friendly with Setup Hurdles"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

I really like how SAP Sustainability Footprint Management provides clear and easy-to-understand data about which products are creating more or less pollution. This clarity helps us significantly. I also appreciate that we don't have to type every detail manually because it works seamlessly with the current SAP data we have, saving our team a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

I noticed some of my colleagues found it a bit complex at the start to set up things. I believe the structure of setting up should be much easier for those not much tech-savvy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SAP Integration Makes Product Carbon Footprints Clear and Actionable"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

What I found genuinely useful is how it calculates carbon footprint at a product level and not just at a high level. That clarity really helps when you want to understand where exactly the impact is coming from. Also, since it works on top of existing SAP data, it avoids a lot of manual work and duplication. The emission factor handling and footprint breakdown across production, transport, etc., gives a more complete picture instead of fragmented insights. In real scenarios, this makes decision making much more practical rather than just theoretical reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

The biggest challenge is the complexity. It is not something you can just start using without proper data readiness and understanding of sustainability concepts. Integration with other modules or external systems is not always smooth and sometimes requires extra effort. Also, there are gaps in areas like scope 1 and 2 coverage and some limitations in reporting flexibility. UI and usability can definitely be improved, especially for business users who are not very technical. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Integration, But Complex Setup"
4/5
What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

I like the native SAP ERP integration, as it flows directly to procurement and production orders, which is quite useful. The strong scope 3 traceability for CSRD compliance is also something I appreciate. Using SAP Sustainability Footprint Management alongside SAP S/4HANA Analytics Cloud gives me end-to-end traceability, which is beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

The configuration overhead is significant, with emission factor assignment and product footprint rules requiring substantial consultant time to configure correctly. A more guided setup wizard could help reduce the time to value. The out of the box dashboards are limited, and the licensing costs are a concern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Automation Features Shine, but Data Migration Needs More Flexibility! #Notarocketscience"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

We use SAP and SAP affiliated product since last 3 years. We were introduced with the SAP sustainability model by one of our old client in the last quarter for automated emissions reports or AER&D. It has reduced hours of traditional workflow which ultimately sourcing our skills in other area of current project. There are a lot of features to pick as the best about SAP SFM, however automation features tops the list. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

Since the last update, a lot of issues were resolved by SAP. However while migrating the data, it should have more options to allow the users to play with current set-up instead of the limitations bound to the features. As there are new updates rolling out each Quarter, I believe it will ease up soon on current configuration on user interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Sustainability Insights, But Complex Setup for Smaller Businesses"
3.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

What I like best about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management is how it connects sustainability data with the actual business data. The dashboards help visualize data and track progress and help to show management long term and short term improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Sustainability Footprint Management?

The system is unnecessarily complicated, particularly during the initial setup. It is far from plug and play, since it requires backend data integration. If you are not utilizing all the SAP environments, it becomes even more challenging to use, and its design seems to cater mainly to large enterprises. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
