The dashboards simplify complex architectural data, which in turn supports more effective strategic planning. **What do you dislike about SAP LeanIX?** SAP LeanIX may initially seem daunting, particularly for newcomers working with extensive environments. Certain features demand considerable setup, and the customization options are somewhat restricted, which can make it challenging to perform more in-depth analysis or make specific adjustments. **What problems is SAP LeanIX solving and how is that benefiting you?** SAP LeanIX addresses the challenge of fragmented and ambiguous IT systems by bringing all architecture data into a single, centralized platform. This centralization enhances transparency, makes it easier to spot redundancies, and enables more effective planning. There's a clear purpose and use case for each feature, which helps us to achieve full impact and value. It has great reporting and analytics and very clean executive-level dashboards, which enhance storytelling and narrative aspects for non-tech stakeholders. I really appreciate the clean UI and the draw.io integration, which makes creating complex diagrams easier with industry-recognized shapes and notations. **What do you dislike about SAP LeanIX?** I would say that the metadata model is a bit complex, which sometimes leads to multiple entries and confusion around what already exists and what does not. I have also noticed some performance issues where it is slow to load, refresh rates, save and pick up where you left off, etc. Its integration with other tools is sometimes one way and not bidirectional. It is a good documentation tool but it doesn't go beyond that. It is hard to conduct complex analysis within the tool and make decisions. Initial setup was very barebones and generic. There was no good way to kickstart our adoption of the tool. Some ready-to-use templates or standards and best practices would have gone a long way. **What problems is SAP LeanIX solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use SAP LeanIX to map out our technology landscape, gaining real-time visibility into our tech stack and understanding areas for reassessment. It solves the problem of visualizing our enterprise-wide system level view and ties together underlying processes for strategic, innovative, and modernization efforts. ### 3. It doesn’t take months to get up and running you can start seeing meaningful insights and reports within just a few weeks. The platform makes it easy to visualize complex IT landscapes, which helps both technical teams and business stakeholders make better decisions. It’s also built for collaboration, allowing different departments to contribute and maintain data without needing deep technical knowledge. **What do you dislike about SAP LeanIX?** LeanIX is quite expensive. The data modeld are also be a bit confusing at first terms like “Application” and “IT Component” aren’t always intuitive, and that can lead to mistakes or duplicated entries. Builtin integrations and diagramming tools a bit limited often needing to rely on external software for more advanced use cases. Lastly, since it uses a proprietary structure, migrating to a different tool later on could be challenging. **What problems is SAP LeanIX solving and how is that benefiting you?** SAP LeanIX helped us gain clear visibility into our application portfolio and overall IT landscape, which was previously fragmented and hard to manage. It allowed us to identify redundant systems, streamline our architecture, and align our applications more closely with business needs. This not only improved decision making but also supported cost saving initiatives and made it easier to plan for future transformations. ### 5.
