"Nice product for Ecommerce Developer"

What do you like best?

It great configurational tool allow developers to code less and develop more. It covers almost all ecommerce needs such as Order management, Front End configuration for Marketing team. It has various modules and all are required to satisfy Ecommerce need, Such as Omni channel support for Responsive design. One good thing is you can use any frontend technology to design its storefront.

What do you dislike?

Documentation is not easily available. Until you are not tied up with organization/partner, you cannot learn this tool. Cost wise also it is bit high as compare to other Ecommerce tool. Few are open source as well. So this demerit I found. Apart from this everything is good, I like this product.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I will encourage other to learn Hybris to grow their Ecommerce needs and solutions and also try its various modules like Order Management System, Omni channel support and payment processing. Its been 3 years working on this tool. I did not find any difficulty on its functionality. surely recommend this others.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Working for client and develop the whole Ecommerce solution for them on SAP hybris. We have implemented Order Management System module successfully for our client within 2 months and did not face any major production issues after that. So it's simply great. Thanks to Hybris team for this awesome product.

"Stable product, but still SAP need to understand Cloud business"

What do you like best?

Is a friendly platform, with several options and alternatives to create your web page and create mobile app communications.

What do you dislike?

You need to review the terms and conditions when hou create a module into Hybris, because could be a SAP property if they develop something for you even with their consultants

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Improving direct communication with our customers (we attend to mum & pops and the volume and alternatives are huge). With a mobile APP, with send the most important information and warrant the right message.

"Good E-commerce solution for larger businesses "

What do you like best?

- Large scale product and user data management.

- Out of the box support for common eCommerce functionality.

- Robust platform that is supported well and consistently by the Hybris team who are available for direct support if needed.

- Integrates well with other services if Hybris does not meet all business needs.

- Localization for multi-national support was easy to implement.

What do you dislike?

- Though there is an online community presence for support, it is not as strong as other platforms I have used. And the need for having certain requirements to be able to login to view the support doesn't help either.

- Needs quite a lot customization in order to adapt to the own business

- huge cost and time.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is not something that can be done within few weeks, lots of planning needs to be done and customization's for business needs.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- ASM(assisted service module) which provides customer agents with customer like website experience was a great benefit.

- WCMS system allows flexible management of your content with different personalisation rules and preview mode.

"Flexible eCommerce platform with implementation issues"

What do you like best?

hybris offers a very flexible commerce platform, and it can be customized endlessly to accommodate customers' requirements.

What do you dislike?

Often times hybris sells functionality that they claim is out of the box, but it either requires significant customization/configuration, or is planned for a future dot-release, or is buggy. Given that it is not a SaaS solution, bugs can only be fixed via patch, and the turnaround time is not great.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you're willing to make the investment not only in the software, but also a quality implementation and ongoing maintenance, then hybris can be a very good option. However, if you looking for a simpler platform that is easy to maintain, update and author on, you may want to look into other platforms targeted at SMBs

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I've implemented hybris for customers that are looking to replatform onto a more robust commerce platform. Hybris definitely does meet the goal of a more robust platform.

"Digital Project Manager"

What do you like best?

It has all the features for the creation and management of a omnichannel ecommerce system. Catalog Management products, management and order fulfillment, customer service management, content management and other ...

What do you dislike?

The content management system can be improved. The learning curve for developers is quite long

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Complete Engagement & Customer Platform: OmniChannel eCommerce, Marketing Automation, Sales and Analytics

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With accelerator tools it was possible to establish an ecommerce omnichannel system in 5 months integrating warehouse management system, dispatch system, payment, accounting, returns and customer support

"Strong B2C and B2B e-Commer Platform"

What do you like best?

It is a powerful platform for developing both B2C and B2B e-commerce. It allows having an initial and functional site in a few steps and then extending the particular functionalities.

Another strong point is that it is developed with spring, a really well know framework; so, this is an advantage for Java developers.

As far as this, it has many options to manage contents, products, ... It is possible to add extensions, create add-ons, ...

What do you dislike?

A problem of this tool possibly could be the fact that it is an expensive one; so, for little companies, it is unthinkable to get it.

Also, the interface that presents to manage the site, contents, products, catalogues... is complex and difficult to learn.

Another point that I don't like is the fact that it uses ant instance of maven.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is important that developers have a good knowledge in Java and Spring and the computers that they use for developing must have good performance (ram, HDD, CPU, ...); in another case, the speed of development will be penalised.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With this tool, we can develop powerfully e-commerces with all the requirements that the clients need.

"Thoughts on Hybris from over half a decade experience with it (3.0 to 6.0)"

What do you like best?

Most complete and comprehensive set of features available in a single stack off-the-shelf product

Powerful set of abstractions to drive enterprise as well as mid-size businesses

Robust foundation layer built on modern Java stack

Vetted by premium IT vendors and rating agencies like Forrester and Gartner (although comparison is a good place to start, one has to vet the product for individual solution needs very carefully)

Now a SAP solution with a solid roadmap that's fully integrated

Ready to show a demo or proof-of-concept any day, any time!!

What do you dislike?

Measuring configuration vs. customization is not a trivial problem to solve. Most system integrators are not dialed into the roadmap of latest features.

May be prohibitive to some medium size enterprises

Accelerators are not fully baked and ready to use with UI-driven configuration

Roadmap is too broad in some areas

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Talk to as many consultants and implementation vendors as possible

Get the best price for licensing as it can vary widely from region to the rep

Get strong referrals and validate the implementation stories

Always ask for a proof-of-concept and don't rely on the readymade vendor showcases

Ask for references where the person has direct operational experience with the product

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Traditional and digital ecommerce for retail (apparel, cosmetics and other finished non-durable goods)

B2B and wholesale distribution (durable, industrial and heavy goods)

Micro-services and other in-app transactional businesses like digital games and software

Groceries and supermarkets

"Good option to investigate if wanting to have a more holistic omnichannel & distribution view"

What do you like best?

Really helped our team focus on more data than we had in the past. Trying to determine the cost solution and how well it's working for us but so far so good. When working with our distribution partners - there was hesitation but the real-time inventory view was an important factor to help us move forward.

What do you dislike?

Somewhat cumbersome to drill down to the level of detail we wanted to when trying to determine if we wanted to expand to the cloud package.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Streamlining our customer databases and being able to link our retail content management system with inventory management to have a real-time view and limit customer frustration in the purchase funnel. So far, we are noticing a better uptick in our product availability view.

"It takes time getting used to it"

What do you like best?

I like that it is easy to get navigate. Although there are a lot of components in the program, it is pretty straightforward once you've explored to content.

What do you dislike?

I do not like that I have to memorize certain codes to find exactly what I need. I tried finding items that I needed at the store, and it was a bit more complicated than just typing the term into the search box.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am figuring out the needs of the business and how important it is to keep track of what the store needs from the non-retail perspective

"Hybris Commerce "

What do you like best?

Hybris is a comprehensive Commerce platform offering B2B, B2C and Services with multi languages

What do you dislike?

The Hybris Commerce still has not offered the integration with SAP DQM Microservices (Cloud) for Address Validation, Geocoding and Reverse Geocoding. The Cybersource is still the default offering out of the box for Address Verification.

"Solid B2B eCommerce Platform"

What do you like best?

From a functional standpoint, hybris takes a starring role in quite a few areas including B2B digital commerce, web content management, and (extended) product content management. From a more technical standpoint, the ERP-agnostic platform and service-oriented architecture has allowed us to integrate with SAP and other internal systems in a fairly straight-forward manner. Because of the fact that the technology stack is comprised of recognizable, open-source components our developers and operations teams have had a fairly smooth transition. It's by no means perfect but, as the latest Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce shows, it's clearly a Leader in the field and a choice that we are happy with thus far.

What do you dislike?

1) Online training is costly and available for 30 days only -- wouldn't they want their users to be as well-versed in the product as possible? 2) hybris-trained resources have been difficult to locate and hire due to the booming demand of the platform. 3) It remains to be seen how viable the DataHub solution will be -- lots of promise but still too early to tell. Also would like to see it introduce some stronger digital marketing capabilities to compete with the basic functionality found in solutions like Adobe Campaign or Marketo.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Hunt for and select right integrator. Train your key internal resources early. Stand up and test environments as soon as reasonably possible. Configure, don't customize where possible.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are nearing our launch of hybris implementation so nothing yet realized, however, we are solving for a variety of things including the replacement of a fragile yet heavy home-brewed platform and the introduction of true WCM and PCM tools. Our goals are not uncommon: enhance wallet share, attract new customers, create scalable/sustainable competitive advantage etc.

"Hybris is the right concept."

What do you like best?

Ease of installation. Scalability. Extensibility. The leveraging of Open Source technologies. Customizability. The concept that you can buy what you need and add on as your business grows without the peril of breaking your maintenance agreement.

What do you dislike?

There are some aspects of the accelerators that require enough customization to warrant creating them from scratch. While no eCommerce platform is perfect in every way, this is an area where most SIs make the mistake of assuming the template will be applicable and meet the client need thereby underestimating the capabilities. Especially in the UI.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Since the recent acquisition of hybris by SAP, there is the usual shakeout and restructuring. If you have SAP, great. If you're considering hybris, work with your business partner to determine the specific problems you're trying to solve. Some modules are licensed separately and it's important to have the right solutions architect to guide you along towards the optimal configuration.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The consolidation of disparate data sources to enable businesses to realize the extent of their intellectual assets and digital properties in order to determine the best way to disseminate information to their multiple customer bases while being able to manage this centralized data through a single user interface,

What you get are streamlined processes and workflows, minimized redundancy and a more holistic view of digital assets so businesses don't have to re-create the wheel every time.

"SAP Hybris platform"

What do you like best?

The B2B and B2C accelerators. Using one line of code and a fully featured b2b or b2c store is installed and ready for customisation.

What do you dislike?

For developers it has a very steep learning curve.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you are buying a Sap Hybris license, you will need to work initially with a partner to setup and build your . first store.

"The future is now!"

What do you like best?

Great, reliable technology stack with key components perfectly poised for growth and flexibility. The product works, scales and contorts when needed for an omni-channel solution.

What do you dislike?

Rapid growth in last two years has diluted the intimacy within the partner ecosystem. There is a learning curve that must be appreciated. The hybris training and certifications go a long way to help Quality Assure teams. But best to work with the Partner Managers to get the best collaborative support.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Definitely keep the overall "cost of ownership" in mind - it may be one of the best in the space. Flexibility and breadth of capability bodes well that this can meet most solution demands.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Initially focused on b2c we're seeing many more b2b implementations now. Global branding challenges and regional differentiation - especially in 3rd party solutions like payment and logics partners tend to be under appreciated and under estimated by some providers. Omni-channel is a discipline that can take time, this product does foster best practices across many disciplines.

"One of the best eCommerce platforms offering flexibility to handle complex business requirements"

What do you like best?

Hybris accelerators enable quick roll out with essential eCommerce features. The product is customizable to suit all the requirements of the retailers. Hybris also offers lots of inbuilt B2B features that can be configured and customized to suit almost all the businesses.

What do you dislike?

Using the platform can be pretty challenging initially, especially the cockpits. But once you become familiar, its a robust platform.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having worked on two B2B implementations, I can say that mapping the retailers organization structure can be pretty challenging. Hybris handles this effectively using the concept of B2B units. Similarly, Hybris also enables customizing the products and restricting the products and catalogs to users and groups very effectively.
