"Powerful Campaign Automation but Interface Could Be Improved"
4/5
What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I appreciate the ability to create automated and personalized customer journeys on SAP Engagement Cloud. This makes it possible to send targeted communications based on user behavior, improving the effectiveness of campaigns and saving operational time. I use the platform to manage my eCommerce, particularly for marketing automation activities that help me segment the customer database and send relevant and targeted communications. I automate flows like emails and abandoned carts, reducing manual work and optimizing conversions and engagement. Additionally, the integration with Shopify was simple and allows me to automatically synchronize customer and order data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

The interface may seem unintuitive at first and requires some time to master. Some configurations are complex and training is needed to make the most of all available features. It was not immediate as it takes some time to set up integrations and workflows. Some features could be more intuitive and quicker to configure. I would suggest templates and guided configurations. "Intuitive Campaign Setup, Needs Multilingual Flexibility"

What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I like the drag-and-drop system in SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys) for configuring and setting up campaigns. It's a very dynamic tool, with modules and blocks that make it a nice environment. Everything integrates easily, allowing for easy edits and saves. It's a very nice environment and I like it. What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I don't like having to create a new campaign for each specific language. It would be great if I could create just one campaign with different options to automatically set up all needed languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile Tool with Room for Improvement in Design Features"
3.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I like that SAP Engagement Cloud offers a structured platform with a lot of possibilities, including multiple communication channels. It provides big opportunities for data analysis and is a very intuitive platform. The great support is another aspect I appreciate, and it allows us to only need one tool that offers it all, thus avoiding a long onboarding time since everyone can easily use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

The process of creating email designs is a bit more complex and could be improved by making it easier to build blocks, perhaps with more templates from the community. The same goes for the forms, the webchannel, and the data dashboard. They are outdated and it is not possible to design them individually without a big effort. "Real-Time Data Automation with SAP Engagement Cloud"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I use SAP Engagement Cloud to handle customer engagement using real-time operational data, which lets my customer messages update automatically based on backend events like delivery issues. I appreciate not having to write cron jobs, webhooks, or ETL flows just to keep campaigns up to date. The real-time connection to ERP data automates complex problems like reduced ML infrastructure needs, less custom algorithm tuning, and no need to maintain recommendation engines. The system reacts instantly to operational events like inventory changes or delays because it's connected directly to SAP's core systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

There's no deep, code-level debugging like we have with custom microservices, CloudWatch metrics, message tracing. This makes it harder to identify the root cause of failures, slowing development cycles. The initial setup wasn't hard but definitely not plug and play. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Communication with Compliance and Automation"
4/5
What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I appreciate how SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys) unifies client data and automates compliant, event-driven communications tailored to the capital markets industry. It centralizes investor profiles, transaction history, and engagement touchpoints, which helps eliminate data silos and reduces manual coordination across our team. The built-in compliance framework aligns perfectly with GDPR, BaFin, and MiFID II requirements, allowing us to execute institutional outreach, IPO updates, and fixed-income announcements confidently without heavy legal review. Its reliable workflow automation scales personalized client engagement efficiently, maintaining strong relationships with institutional investors, asset managers, and family offices without sacrificing quality or consistency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

The reporting and analytics feel somewhat limited for capital markets-specific use cases. Custom dashboards for tracking institutional client engagement alongside deal performance require extra manual configuration. The native integration with our trading and portfolio systems works, but it often needs additional IT support to fully sync client and transaction data in real time. "Effortless Campaign Personalization with Robust Automation"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I love how SAP Engagement Cloud personalizes campaigns at scale and automates customer journeys using real-time data and AI insights. The segmentation, AI recommendations, and event-triggered workflows make the campaigns personalized and effective. I also switched to SAP Engagement Cloud from Adobe Campaign to benefit from its simpler automation, better AI personalization, and easier omnichannel campaign management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

It could improve its ease of use for beginners and make advanced reporting more intuitive. It could be easier with a simpler setup and navigation, and reporting could improve with customizable dashboards and drag-drop reports. The initial setup of SAP Engagement Cloud was a bit challenging at first but became easy once we got familiar with the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Marketing automation without hassle, but complex setup"
4/5
What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I like that SAP Engagement Cloud is constantly being improved in line with the latest trends, making it user-friendly. It is not just a product for developers, but also for marketers and anyone without technical knowledge. The ability to add personalization and integrate with third-party databases for subsequent use of this data within the platform is also impressive. This ultimately allows the client to transform emails into profit, which I find the most interesting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

It was quite difficult for me to set up SAP Engagement Cloud. You need to understand the technical documentation and interact with the manager who needs to activate something. This takes a lot of time and requires coordination, especially if several teams are working. I wish this process were simpler. I noticed that it would be useful to add more AI integration and simplify the automation interface, as many people get confused with it. AI solutions for simplifying programming and technical aspects, for example, in the template editor, would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Marketing Automation and Stellar Support"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I love the simplicity of use and appreciate how easy it is to create automations and campaigns with minimal time spent on learning and fixing issues. The dashboard is simple to use, making building reports and breaking down data straightforward. The platform is essentially 'plug & play,' which is really convenient. The team at SAP Engagement Cloud is amazing to work with; they are super responsive and very helpful, especially in developing segments and automation programs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

Some reporting, like year-on-year comparisons, can be a bit timely to create. It would be helpful to add functions for reporting on things like customer contact growth year-over-year, month-over-month, and quarter-on-quarter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy In-Interface Configuration That Feels Like a Real Upgrade"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I like being able to configure settings directly by clicking within the interface. That’s something I wasn’t familiar with in the old SAP system, so it feels like a helpful improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

Sometimes I can’t find where to adjust a setting. I work with artificial intelligence, and I often run into cases where the description doesn’t match what I’m seeing. I understand this is partly due to the internal settings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Segmentation and AI-Driven Insights"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

I find SAP Engagement Cloud very easy, user-friendly, and fast. I like its user-friendly interface and how it allows things to get done faster than our previous system. The AI analytical tool is great for easy access to performance data, and I appreciate the engagement event segment builder which is excellent for creating specific segments without needing a template. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?

It's not as easy to see where the segments are used - campaign or digital ad. Only when you click delete, you can have an overview. You cannot delete segments within the segment either. You have to search it up from the overview to find it and delete it there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
