When a sales order is placed, the system automatically triggers inventory checks, updates the general ledger, and can even initiate production schedules. This eliminates the "silos" that often plague large organizations. **What do you dislike about SAP ECC?** Compared to modern SaaS applications or even SAP S/4HANA, the SAP GUI is often seen as clunky and non-intuitive. The learning curve for new employees is steep, and it lacks the "consumer-grade" feel that users expect in 2026. **What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?** The Problem: Before ECC, departments like Finance, Manufacturing, and Sales often operated on separate systems, leading to conflicting data and manual reconciliation. The Benefit: By providing a single source of truth, it ensures that a transaction in one module (like a Goods Receipt in Materials Management) immediately reflects in another (like Accounts Payable in Finance). It seems well established in many large corporations with 10000 users or more (like the one I work for) but had no chance to evaluate other alternatives. The software was implemented company-wide about 1 0 years ago. **What do you dislike about SAP ECC?** Dislike pretty much everything about it... The user interface is clunky with many options. Software is complex to use and unintuitive. It is overall working as expected and can do things that we were unable to accomplish well in the past (such as bringing back sales figures around the world in a timely manner) but I imagine they are today much better options available on the market. **What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is used at my company to aggregate sales info around the word ### 3. These standards set the parameters for adequate and unsuitable exchanges. basically, it saves our organization a lot of cash; this remaining part is true for both small and large businesses. **What do you dislike about SAP ECC?** A LOT. the complexity built with the software product. Also, if you type anything remotely wrong when inserting the inventory it is hard to tell what you messed up. That is normally when you have to start your count all over and backtrack. Most organizations execute one component or capacity of the product at any given moment, enabling representatives to pick up familiarity with the product before pushing ahead. The total usage procedure may take several years. **Recommendations to others considering SAP ECC:** Simplify the system! It runs slow on some of our desktop computers in our sales office also **What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?** Problems we solve with SAP are issues with our inventory count on sunglasses. It helps us keep track of how much we have of a product. ### 7. Clunky, not intuitive or user-friendly **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2019 **What do you like best about SAP ECC?** SAP is a powerful software in that it can handle a lot of data and brings together every step in a manufacturing business (i.e., from component purchases through customer billing, etc.) **What do you dislike about SAP ECC?** SAP is ridiculously difficult to work with. To start, the standard GUI is not visually appealing at all, and is often not even functional (i.e., a screen will only show 6 line items, a dialog box will be too small to show all text so you have to scroll right, etc.) In order to work in SAP, you need to know tons of "technical" language such as transaction codes and other specifics that are not intuitive or available to see in the software. Additionally, field names/column headers in SAP are notoriously vague or sometimes will appear differently in different locations even if they are pulling from the same user-entered data. While SAP is a powerful software, it is light years behind the software of today with regard to ease of use. **What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?** As I mentioned, SAP is powerful and does allow our organization to bring all aspects of our business together. I appreciate that we do not have a separate system for accounting, etc. ### 8. When I add T-Codes they are neatly stored in my home page. **What do you dislike about SAP ECC?** I dislike the prompts telling me to check for uploaded documents. If I need to check for attachments I would go into the order and make sure they were there. **Recommendations to others considering SAP ECC:** SAP ERP is an efficient way of entering orders. I have used other systems in the past that are more intuitive and user friendly. It is nice to use one system at Samsung and SAP ERP seems to fulfill all of the necessary requirements. **What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our company uses SAP ERP to enter customer orders from salesperson to shipper. It's great because all team members can reference the purchase order number and track orders relatively easy. ### 9. The look and feel is outdated (though that could be due to my firm still using an older version?), and it is quite a pain even to input my work hours. I don't think it's intuitive at all. **Recommendations to others considering SAP ECC:** Useful from a business perspective, but not very enjoyable or intuitive for users. **What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am currently working on a project that involves reporting on FTEs, and SAP makes it very easy to collect data and report on the workforce. This makes reporting and planning on workforce growth much easier. ### 10. The user interface that was developed is decently user friendly, but has many bugs. I have used SAP in a previous position for corporate tax reporting and found it easier to use and output of information was successful. **What do you dislike about SAP ECC?** too much customization can lead to performance issues and bugs in the back office. Our version of SAP was far too customized to the point that we were only able to get a trial balance and not fully integrated financial statements from the system. **Recommendations to others considering SAP ECC:** TEST TEST TEST before Go Live. Also, SAP did not train us very well, so a lot of my learning is by playing around. **Recommendations to others considering SAP ECC:** Get extra training. **What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?** This is our primary AP/AR/PO software - in conjunction with ReadSoft.
