### 1. Unlocks SAP Data Seamlessly for Analytics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Datasphere?**

I like that SAP Datasphere can handle a large volume and can read pretty much all CDS views on SAP S/4. It's great that it can identify incremental or delta data, which makes it a pretty good comprehensive data fabric tool, especially for performing all the reporting within the SAP ecosystem.

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

It works very well within the SAP ecosystem, but it has limitations on connectivity with other external databases and data warehouse environments like Snowflake and Oracle. Some technical adjustments are needed.

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Datasphere helps us unlock data from SAP to our data platform like Snowflake for analytical reporting.

 ### 2. Seamless Setup and User-Friendly Design

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Datasphere?**

I like SAP Datasphere for its ease of organization and ease of use. The user experience design is quite simple and nice. The initial setup was seamless with no problems at all. The customer support is impeccable. Moreover, it is our go to tool, and is frequently used in our daily operations. The UI/UX makes it very easy to integrate in our daily operations.

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

There is nothing to dislike about the SAP Datasphere platform, specifically because it solves all the major organisational issues related to all kinds of data needed for smooth operations.

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Datasphere helps me organize individual projects according to different stakeholders and understand the project status and overview, with exact and quick data

 ### 3. Effortless Automation and Seamless Integration with Datasphere

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sree K. | Software Development Engineer III in Test, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Datasphere?**

What I appreciate most is the ease of integration. Since I work with automation frameworks such as Python and Jenkins, I need tools that can interact seamlessly with my scripts, and Datasphere does this very effectively through its CLI. I don't have to manually navigate the UI to deploy changes or set up a test space. I simply run a command and it's taken care of. This also contributes to the ease of implementation. Moving a new data model from development to a QA environment is straightforward because we can automate the entire upload process. It saves us a significant amount of time. I use Datasphere constantly, pretty much every time a developer commits code, and it manages the frequent updates without any issues. Honestly, what I value most is being able to skip the manual steps and manage the infrastructure as code.

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

Honestly, the documentation for specific CLI commands can sometimes be a bit sparse. For example, when I encounter an unusual edge case while scripting a deployment, it often takes considerable effort to track down the exact flag I need. Additionally, when automation fails, the error messages returned by the CLI are often vague. Sometimes, it simply reports 'failed' without specifying which part of the JSON model was incorrect, which means I end up spending extra time debugging or combing through logs. Once everything is set up, it works very well, but troubleshooting during the setup phase can be frustrating.

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main challenge this tool addresses for us is the manual effort and risk involved in validating data models. Whenever a developer updates a complex view, such as our profitability model, there is a significant risk of breaking calculations or mappings. Manually checking these changes is not only slow but also highly error prone. With this tool, I benefit from fully automated regression testing. By scripting deployments with the CLI, I can immediately run my Python tests against the updated model. This process helps catch issues like incorrect gross margin sums before they reach production. Ultimately, it saves me hours of manual work and gives us greater confidence in the accuracy of our data.

 ### 4. Great Integration with Snowflake, But S/4 Customization Needs Work

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vinit K. | Sap Basis administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Datasphere?**

Available as a service, this solution does not require dependence on the traditional BW system from SAP. It allows data to be transferred to multiple targets, and I found the integration with Snowflake to be straightforward and effective.

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

The CDS views and customization options on the S/4 side still feel somewhat immature. Additionally, the note analyzer, which serves as a backbone for addressing bugs in S/4, is updated too frequently and requires a significant amount of ongoing maintenance.

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In our current legacy system, we use a variety of reporting tools, and data from SAP is transferred to these tools through complex processes. This not only increases the cost of investing in multiple tools but also adds to our liabilities.

 ### 5. Seamless Data Integration and Governance with SAP Datasphere

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shabarinath R. | Senior Product Security Specialist, Telecommunications, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Datasphere?**

What I like best about SAP Datasphere is how seamlessly it brings together data from SAP and non-SAP systems into a single, well-governed semantic layer. The unified modeling experience, strong business context, and built-in governance make it much easier to maintain trustworthy data across complex landscapes. Its ability to virtualize data without heavy replication also saves time, reduces overhead, and keeps data fresh. Overall, Datasphere lets teams get to insights faster with far less integration effort.

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

While SAP Datasphere is powerful, a few areas still need improvement. The performance can slow down when working with large virtualized datasets, and some advanced features require additional configuration or licensing, which increases complexity. The UI, though improved, can feel less intuitive for complex modeling tasks. Integration with certain non-SAP sources also requires extra setup, and debugging data flows isn’t always straightforward.

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Datasphere is helping us solve the challenge of fragmented data across multiple systems. Instead of managing separate data silos in SAP and non-SAP applications, we now have a unified data layer that allows consistent modeling, governance, and sharing. The semantic modeling capabilities preserve business context, reducing rework and improving data quality for analytics.

It also simplifies data access through virtualization, which means we can analyze real-time data without heavy ETL jobs. This has reduced our data preparation time, improved reporting accuracy, and accelerated how quickly business teams can make decisions. Overall, it provides a more scalable and governed foundation for enterprise analytics.

What I like best about SAP Datasphere is its seamless integration with core SAP applications combined with the ability to preserve business semantics and context in data models. This makes it much easier to create trustworthy, business-ready data products that can be used consistently across analytics and planning solutions. In addition, I value the flexibility to connect SAP and non-SAP data sources in one governed environment, enabling a holistic view of enterprise data without losing performance or control.

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

What I dislike about SAP Datasphere is that it can feel complex and resource-intensive to set up, especially when integrating large volumes of non-SAP data. Some features are still maturing, and performance can vary depending on the data source. In addition, the cost model may become challenging as usage scales, which requires careful planning.

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Datasphere solves the challenge of bringing together data from SAP and non-SAP sources while preserving the business context. Instead of spending time rebuilding SAP semantics or duplicating data into separate warehouses, I can work with trusted, business-ready data directly in one environment. This reduces complexity, accelerates analytics and reporting, and ensures that business users have consistent and reliable insights for decision-making.

 ### 20. Good for mostly SAP-based companies, but still maturing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samandar B. | Data analyst and engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Datasphere?**

Best about SAP Datasphere.
I like that it connect very smooth with SAP systems. I worked only once with this product, one of our clients using S/4HANA, and Datasphere made it easier to bring sales and finance data together without building so many ETL flows. Also the business layer is helpful, because we can show data in more “business words” not only technical.

Most helpful about SAP Datasphere
For me the most helpful thing is we can centralize SAP + other data in one place. In BigMoney Analytics, which is our small company that works with automation analytics of small and medium businesses, we don’t need to spend too much time building custom pipelines, because Datasphere already handle part of it. That save us time and help us deliver Power BI dashboards quicker to clients.

 Upsides of using SAP Datasphere
Easy to connect to SAP sources, less headache.
Business friendly modeling, not only for IT guys.
Combine ERP operations with finance reporting.
Faster time to deliver analytics, which our client like a lot.

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

I only worked with SAP Datasphere one time, in a project for one of our clients. From this limited experience, the main thing I didn’t like was the performance when data stay virtualized. For bigger tables the queries was slow, and finally we needed to replicate part of the data which made the setup more heavy. Also the licensing and cost is not so clear, it looks like it can get expensive fast when you scale. Since it was just one project, maybe I didn’t explore everything, but I also felt non-SAP integrations are not so strong, we had to do extra work to connect other systems. It looks powerful, but at this stage I think the product is still maturing and missing some advanced functions compared to older SAP tools

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I told above that I only used SAP Datasphere in one project with a client, but even from this limited case it was clear what kind of business problems it can solve. The main issue for the client was that their sales and finance data was inside SAP ERP, while some operational and external data was outside SAP in other systems. They wanted to combine everything into one reporting view, but before they did it mostly manual with Excel which was slow and error-prone. Using Datasphere we was able to connect directly to SAP data and also bring in some external data, then model it in a way that management could see the same KPIs across departments. This reduced confusion between sales and finance teams, and it also saved time for reporting. For us at BigMoney Analytics, the value was we could build Power BI dashboards faster and provide a more trusted version of the numbers for decision making.

Excellent for SAP-driven enterprises, nice SAP integration, good retain of business applications, I find it easy to explain to my stakeholders the value of their data and why we need things such as the verticals etc

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

Complicated setup, and missing some connectors I'd like to have, maybe more modularity to calculate KPI directly inside the platforms instead of exporting then re importing data

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralizing the data from the multiple source of data inside my company ecosystem, aligning all of the data together, mainly simplifying my work/life

 ### 39. Very well integrated

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Datasphere?**

Integration with SAP and Non-SAP – Strong out-of-the-box integration with SAP ERP, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and also connectors for external databases and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, etc.).

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

While it’s more user-friendly than traditional BW, the modeling concepts (spaces, views, data products) can still feel complex for newcomers. For large or complex queries across multiple sources, performance can sometimes lag compared to direct access in a dedicated data warehouse.

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before, SAP and non-SAP data lived in separate systems, requiring heavy ETL to bring them together. Datasphere provides virtual access so you don’t need to copy everything.

 ### 40. A Handy Tool for Data Integration, but Not Without Its Quirks"

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshay Y. | Software Developer - 2, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2024

**What do you like best about SAP Datasphere?**

To be honest, want to pull in data from different places very easily, especially from SAP sources like S/4HANA and SAP BW, Iyou should definitley go for SAP Datasphere. The built-in connectors save a lot of time. The data modeling tools are also pretty straightforward, and we can create views without writing tons of code. Also, the business data layer is handy for keeping data terms consistent across different reports, which makes things less confusing. But yeah, you need to be really have more patience.

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

I think, this is very beginning for me, but so far, what I have felt is that the interface is okay, but it can feel limited if you’re used to full ETL tools.

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The data replication option is really good when we need faster access to frequently used data. We can connect with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, and third-party cloud sources saves us from constantly switching between tools. Also, being able to create views and transformations visually speeds up data prep, especially when building reports in SAP Analytics Cloud. It will take time initially, but trust me, you can do a lot of stuff even combining more SAP tools.

A unified platform for data modeling & analysis & a low-code to no-code interface for data preparation & analysis.

 ### 43. User Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aman R. | Process Manager - Data & Strategy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Datasphere?**

I recently started using DataSphere. I can say That It is a powerful tool that really helps us use and maintain our data effectively. Also, DataSphere is really fast with heavy data loads. Airflow can be created with Python

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

In creating the Python airflow I think the code as the error message you'll get is very limited. I tried to execute a SQL query to look at a table. I couldn't find an editor (except for SQL View. But I don't want to create and deploy a view). So is it just me or is it impossible to write simple SQL queries, execute them and see and download the result?

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have found the best use cases right now are as a middleware / data collector for handing off to Azure/PowerBI or Databricks.

Without DS, doing this isn’t easy going, but with DS, it handles the delta and object transfer well. Compared to just ripping out tables on mass and having to glue it all together outside.

I've been using SAP Datasphere for a while now, and honestly, it’s a pretty solid tool if you're already working with SAP systems. It makes connecting with SAP S/4HANA, BW, and other SAP products way easier, and I really like the Business Data Fabric approach since it cuts down on unnecessary data duplication. It’s not perfect, but honestly if you’re deep in the SAP ecosystem, it makes life a lot simpler.

**What do you dislike about SAP Datasphere?**

SAP Datasphere is great for SAP integrations but pulling in non-SAP data can be tricky. Little bit costly.

**What problems is SAP Datasphere solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use and Security
