"Powerful Features, Steep Learning Curve"
3.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?

I like that SAP BTP brings everything under one roof—data, integration, and app development. Instead of relying on multiple disconnected tools, we can connect our systems, build apps, and analyze data in the same environment. The flexibility of using low-code for quick solutions and pro-code for more complex projects is a big plus. It also feels secure and scalable, which is important for enterprise use. What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?

The main challenge with SAP BTP is the learning curve - it can feel complex at first, especially if you’re new to the SAP ecosystem. Some of the documentation could be clearer and more beginner-friendly. Pricing can also get tricky if you’re not actively monitoring usage, so cost transparency is an area that could improve. "Reliable platform that supports integration, analytics, and process optimization"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?

From my experience with enterprise systems, SAP BTP stands out for the way it combines a large set of features with an interface that is still approachable for daily use. The ease of integration with both SAP and non-SAP systems meant teams could quickly connect design, production, and reporting tools without heavy manual intervention — something that is very valuable in fast-paced projects like the ones I have handled in manufacturing and engineering. I also found the number of features impressive, from real-time analytics to automation capabilities, which allowed us to monitor KPIs, detect process deviations early, and make data-driven improvements. Its ease of use meant once the team got familiar with the layout, tasks could be completed quickly, supporting higher frequency of use in day-to-day operations. What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?

While the platform is user-friendly overall, ease of implementation can still be a challenge in the first stages, especially if the project involves multiple system connections or custom workflows. In some cases, I found that advanced features required additional configuration and sometimes extra licensing, which could slow adoption in smaller teams. Documentation is available and detailed, but it can be scattered, so you sometimes have to search across multiple resources. That said, customer support has generally been responsive and helpful once contacted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A flexible and developer-friendly platform that supported our cloud transformation journey"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?

During my internship at Tata Consultancy Services, I had the opportunity to work on an AI-based solution for the financial sector, and SAP BTP was one of the platforms we used. What stood out to me was how easy it was to get started and how well everything was organized. The user interface was clean, and the onboarding documentation guided us through setup without needing constant support.

We were able to deploy intelligent workflows quickly using Business Application Studio. I really liked the fact that we could connect different data sources and systems using Integration Suite without writing a lot of custom code. Features like the SAP HANA Cloud database and workflow services helped us scale and automate tasks efficiently. The real strength of BTP is in how it brings everything together under one roof, from development to deployment, with strong governance and security features in place. It made working with enterprise-level data much simpler than I expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?

Some parts of the platform, like setting up entitlements or working across multiple subaccounts, were not very intuitive at first. Although the platform offers excellent documentation, it can feel scattered and sometimes hard to follow when dealing with complex implementations. Also, monitoring the cost and consumption across different services required some manual effort, especially when working in teams across different regions or projects. Once we became familiar with the environment, it got better, but the learning curve in the beginning was a challenge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible platform that brings data and applications together"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?

What I like most about SAP BTP is how it brings everything. Data, applications, and services into one platform. It makes it easier to build, extend, and integrate applications without needing to switch between different tools. The pre-built services, especially for analytics and integration, save a lot of setup time. I also found the real-time data access and connection with SAP systems to be very reliable, easy to implement, which helps keep everything aligned across teams. What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?

One downside of SAP BTP is the complexity when you're just getting started. The learning curve can be steep, especially if you're not already familiar with SAP’s ecosystem. Some services and tools aren’t always clearly documented, which can slow down development or integration work. It’s powerful once you understand how everything fits together, but getting to that point takes some time and effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined AI-Driven Healthcare Data Pipelines with SAP BTP"

What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?

During my time at AGS Health, I was part of a team focused on building AI-powered systems to analyze complex healthcare data. We integrated SAP BTP into our cloud infrastructure to enhance our data engineering workflows. What stood out to me was how SAP BTP simplified the orchestration between data ingestion, transformation, and modeling.

The flexibility of the platform allowed us to connect our AWS-hosted pipelines (Glue, S3, EMR) with SAP HANA services for real-time analytics. The pre-built connectors, especially for healthcare systems and EMRs, were a major time-saver. Also, the way it integrates with machine learning workflows using SAP AI Core made experimentation and deployment smoother.

Overall, BTP gave our ML pipelines a scalable, secure, and business-aligned foundation that supported both rapid iteration and governance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?

The learning curve was initially steep, especially for developers like me coming from an open-source-heavy background (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.). Understanding how to efficiently navigate the SAP ecosystem — from managing authorizations to deploying on SAP AI Core — took a while and required dedicated ramp-up time.

Additionally, some services felt overly abstracted, limiting our ability to fine-tune certain pipelines compared to tools like Airflow or SageMaker. Lastly, pricing transparency and forecasting could have been better — understanding the long-term cost of data storage and compute usage wasn’t always intuitive. What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?

While SAP Business Technology Platform is powerful and feature-rich, some challenges I’ve noticed relate to ease of use and ease of implementation, which can require a steep learning curve for new users. Additionally, integration with certain external systems can be complex, and navigating customer support can sometimes take longer than expected. The frequency of use may be affected by these factors, despite the platform offering a wide range of features.” Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This is one of the best offerings from SAP. We use it in our SaaS platform, and it comes with many out-of-the-box connectors, such as AWS. It also supports multiple programming languages, including Java and Python. easy to use as it requires less code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?

There isn't much to say, but I do find the learning curve to be a bit steep, so you need to invest quite a bit of time at the beginning. The initial setup also takes some time, but once that's done, everything becomes much easier. I've heard that the cost is high, but my organization is handling that aspect.
