"Great Data Centralization, But Steep Learning Curve and Complex UI"
2.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Business Data Cloud?

where do i even start. the implementation was a total nightmare, took months longer than they said and we had to hire super expensive consultants just to get it off the ground. and the ease of use is a joke. the interface is so clunky and non-intuitive that we had to create our own internal guides for our team just to do basic tasks. we're supposed to use it all the time but people avoid it because its so frustrating. What do you dislike about SAP Business Data Cloud?

it's got a million features but it feels like they just threw everything at the wall. half of them you can't even find and the other half are so poorly designed they're useless. yeah it plugs into our other sap systems okay, but try connecting it to any non-sap tool and good luck. the ease of integration with anything outside their world is a mess.

and dont even get me started on customer support. you submit a ticket and wait forever just to get a generic response from someone who clearly hasnt read what you wrote. its a constant battle to get to someone who actually knows what theyre talking about. it's just a huge bottleneck. "Powerful Data Unification with SAP Business Data Cloud, but Complex Setup and High Costs"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Business Data Cloud?

What I appreciate most about SAP Business Data Cloud is its ability to unify data from both SAP and non-SAP sources without the need for replication, which helps maintain business context and governance. It enables seamless access, integration, and analysis of reliable data throughout your entire landscape, all centralized in one location and prepared for analytics and AI. Intuitive for SAP users but complex for newcomers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business Data Cloud?

SAP Business Data Cloud's primary disadvantages include a complicated setup process and a significant learning curve, which can be particularly challenging for those who are not already familiar with SAP products. Additionally, the platform can become expensive when used for large-scale deployments, and its performance is sometimes inconsistent when integrating with non-SAP systems. While the integration options are fairly flexible, they are not as smooth or effortless as those offered by specialized data lake or data warehouse solutions. Reliable and responsive, though resolution times can vary by issue complexity. High for organizations deeply integrated with SAP; moderate for hybrid data environments. "Powerful Data Integration with SAP Business Data Cloud, but Steep Learning Curve and Complex Pricing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Business Data Cloud?

What I like best about SAP Business Data Cloud is how it simplifies access to unified, real-time data across SAP and non-SAP systems. In my role managing data replication from 24 OPCOs to Central Finance (CFIN) for Heineken Europe, this centralized and governed platform helps streamline integration, reduce manual effort, and ensure consistency. Its semantic layer and AI capabilities make data more actionable, while seamless connectivity with SAP S/4HANA and Datasphere supports our financial operations efficiently. It’s a future-ready solution that aligns perfectly with large-scale data harmonization initiatives like ours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business Data Cloud?

What I dislike about SAP Business Data Cloud is that it can be quite complex for non-technical users, often requiring significant support from IT teams to fully leverage its capabilities. Integration with non-SAP systems can be challenging, and the platform’s pricing structure is not always transparent, which can make cost management difficult. Additionally, the learning curve is steep, and training requirements can slow down adoption. Some users have also noted limited flexibility in reporting and analytics compared to other BI tools. "Reliable enterprise-grade cloud for unified data and analytics"
4.5/5
What do you like best about SAP Business Data Cloud?

SAP Business Data Cloud offers a unified and secure environment for managing, analyzing, and sharing enterprise data across departments and ecosystems. What stands out most is the seamless integration with existing SAP tools like S/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud — it reduces data silos and improves real-time decision-making.

The platform’s governance and lineage tracking capabilities help ensure data consistency and compliance across complex workflows. I also appreciate the scalability and automation options, which make it ideal for large enterprises managing multi-source data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business Data Cloud?

The setup process can be quite technical for non-SAP users, and initial configuration requires a good understanding of the SAP ecosystem. The UI, while functional, could be more intuitive for new users. Also, licensing costs and training requirements can be significant for smaller organizations.

Some integrations outside the SAP ecosystem (e.g., with niche third-party analytics tools) require additional configuration or middleware. Finally, customer support response times could be faster, especially for custom integration issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SAP Business Data Cloud: Powerful Integration and Context, but Complex Setup"
5/5
What do you like best about SAP Business Data Cloud?

What I like best about SAP Business Data Cloud is how it bridges the gap between raw data and real business understanding. Unlike traditional data lakes, it preserves the business context — so data isn’t just numbers, it’s tied to concepts like customers, orders, or materials. This makes analytics far more intuitive and useful. It also integrates smoothly with both SAP and non-SAP systems, which is critical for hybrid environments. Add to that its built-in data governance, enterprise-grade scalability, and tight connection with tools like SAP Analytics Cloud, and you get a platform that’s genuinely built for large, complex organizations. It’s not trying to be flashy — it just works where it matters most Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Business Data Cloud?

SAP Business Data Cloud (formerly SAP Datasphere) offers powerful capabilities for data integration and management, but it also has its drawbacks. One common criticism is its complexity—many users find the platform difficult to navigate, especially without prior experience with SAP systems. The learning curve can be steep, requiring significant training and onboarding. Additionally, performance can be inconsistent when handling large-scale data operations or real-time analytics, particularly if the infrastructure isn't properly optimized. Some users also report limitations in customization and flexibility, especially compared to other modern cloud-based data platforms. Lastly, the licensing and cost structure can be confusing and expensive, making it a less attractive option for smaller organizations or those with limited budgets.
