## Sanity Reviews
  ### 1. Amazing for both developers and content editors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Head of software architecture, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Everything about Sanity is easy. Once we got the hang of it we are continuosly adding value to our websites and our content editors with low effort

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Some components are a bit rigid and we find ourselves having to make custom components to fit our needs. It would be helpful if components were a bit more flexible or easier to extend functionality

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing content for our multi-tenant, internationalised websites. It benefits us by being very user friendly to the editor and by being very developer friendly. We can easily make changes and deploy new schemas

  ### 2. Best content platform I've ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew R. | Technical Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Maintaining your content schemas alongside your application codebase. Easy to release together. The Studio application is so customisable. I honestly haven't seen anything like it on the market.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The documentation is pretty good, but maybe some more information on customisation using the Structure Builder. Need to get v3 out the door more quickly!

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving from a 'legacy' CMS was made possible by the solution that Sanity offers. We could reshape our content model, which had suffered from years of piecemeal updates and then repopulate using the relevant APIs. Previous attempts to alter content schemas were challenging, even within the same CMS.

  ### 3. Data driven dream

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Inge F. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I love the robust core that can built upon in every imaginable way. This is what I've been looking for. Simply brilliant.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

I did somewhat dislike the way plugins was built before, but version 3 makes that more familiar.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity takes care of my content and relationships between content in a simple yet powerful way.

  ### 4. Beginners friendly Sanity.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suhas C. | Aspiring Data Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

It is not messy like other backend technologies, very user friendly for beginners. Its interface helps to upload and delete the data easily. Sanity helps us to keep track of data and can interact with it tension free.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

There is nothing to dislike about this awesome technology but when I tried to order the data in sanity it pretty much acted weird and it was difficult. Fixing this bug will make Sanity even more awesome.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was creating a portfolio website consisting of my projects and skills, for this, I was required to upload many text and pictures in the backend, as well as I also wanted to update frequently my skills as I learn new skills. Sanity helped me to update my new skills or projects without changing my code and it can be done within a few seconds.

  ### 5. Great CMS for small to larger websites

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cat M. | Senior Experience Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Excellent documentation and ease of set up.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

It can be a bit slow and tedious in the actual CMS editor portion, though that could be the way I've set it up.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gap I felt existed for people who didn't need a full on CMS but needed some flexibility in terms of adding content.

  ### 6. THE best CMS out there - a perspective from 5 years

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan A. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Because Sanity uses a code based scheme to create the CMS interface, it's inherently a much more flexible and scalable solution. This is important because when it comes to building websites, a lot of intricacies relating to link resolving are easily solved with extending the slug functionality.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

GROQ queries need a prettification tool for VS code. Currently we use esLint and Prettier and this is the one issue we find occurs on every project. It also compounds the problem of relational queries having to be expanded.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

Don't be daunted by the initial learning curve. The end result of this CMS is unmatched by any.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this CMS in our "Stack Trifecta". This consists of Sanity, Next.js & Vercel. It allows us to rapidly build websites and bring JAMstack to the lower budget thresholds in the midlands UK area.

  ### 7. Smooth sailing at work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa A. | Digital Communications Adviser, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity's modern interface that is not only easy to navigate, but pleasing to the eye as well. Everything just works! I especially like the version history.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

In the content picker, we only see a very small preview of the page we're trying to link to. One idea to fix this could be a side panel that opens to the right, where we see an extended list view of the the full page name, image, date, etc., of each article.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have connected DocRaptor with Sanity to produce PDFs. It's been great!

  ### 8. Excellent customization and easy configuration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jory T. | Senior User Experience Designer, Design Systems & Frameworks, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity is super is super easy to create a custom schema for, I love the ability to customize and add fields, features, and functionality that matches my use cases. I'm easily able to map my schema to components and UX while making content easy to update and scale.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

By the nature of the tool, it does take longer to setup at the initial config. As such, it has a higher learning curve and isn't quite as plug and play as other CMS's, though id argue that this is also a benefit coming from a developer lens.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Robust customization of content for complex use cases; my specific use cases requires tying content objects and documents to musical content and educational material. Sanity allows me to create exceedingly custom types to express complex content easily to the user.

  ### 9. Great, flexible CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin A. | Freelance Web Designer/Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I love how Sanity allows me to quickly set up a CMS for free, that's flexible, cheap, and comes with all the features I need in a CMS. Plus, it has awesome plugins, a powerful API (both GraphQL and a custom query language) and great docs. It's the best option I've found so far for an easy-to-configure headless CMS that's cheap and doesn't require me to self-host.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Occasionally, the Sanity schema can be annoying to work with, and the editor doesn't come with features such as single page types (singletons), which are needed on almost all sites, enabled by default. However, it's very easy to configure this so it's not a huge downside.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity helps me rapidly develop sites for clients without worrying about setting up or hosting a CMS or content storage system.

  ### 10. Amazing experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johan P. | Développeur front-end, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I like the freedom i got for content modeling

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Honestly not much, documentation is great, DX is wonderfull, maybe the UI could be improved.
I would love to get more plugins.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I came from Wordpress, and it was hard to customize, Sanity is really helping creating content.

  ### 11. Hands-down the best headless CMS I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glen H. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

There's so much to love about Sanity… the documentation is excellent, the community (particularly on Slack is amazing, but Sanity Studio, its flexibility and customisation is the icing on the cake.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Hard to find anything to write here – I really find the development workflow a breeze and the pricing scales well from small projects to larger ones without the big jumps in some other platforms.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving to a cloud-based CMS frees up a lot of time – I don't have a server to manage or databases to backup and the content lake dealing with media means to S3 buckets to worry about.
My clients find the editing experience in Sanity Studio far superior to more traditional CMSs like Wordpress.

  ### 12. Sanity is great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeslen B. | Vice President, Senior/Lead Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Pretty much everything I think of has already been thought of by them. It's super useful that everything is in Javascript and can be committed to git. Way better than WordPress, that's for sure.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The learning curve is a little steep but worth it. Configuring the desk views is complicated. There's probably a better way to do it other than with chained functions.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

Once you breach the learning curve threshold, this thing becomes a scalable beast. The biggest issue I have is that every couple of hours I come up with another hundred ways to make my life even easier.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Headless websites and applications. I was going to build out a relational SQL database and do everything manually for this next big project, but Sanity handles all of that for us.

  ### 13. Good dx but rigid and feature lacking for content editors if used as cms

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Combined with nextjs and Vercel the time from idea to deployed studio is super fast. Groq is also very neat.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The documentation. Or lack there of. Studio design system choices (f.ex using opacity instead of hex values when coloring buttons). I mean.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I really enjoy using groq. The way it lets me do the manipulation of the response data I want before returning anything and the fact that I don't have to write undefined catches for the response json♥️

  ### 14. Super flexible product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Remi S. | Frontend lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I love how super flexible the product is. From the GROQ queries to the image scaling functionality. The built-in document types take you far, but it's when you start fitting Sanity into your organization's needs the product starts to shine. Really good documentation and great developer experience.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The built-in image manager could have been better. Searching, tagging, organizing, etc. is needed when working with tens, hundreds or even thousands of images. I'm missing more flexible role management on the lower price plans.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

Go all-in. Have a dedicated team with ownership of the product. Tailor it around your organization.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time-to-market. We have made MVPs and PoCs in no time. I love the "structured content" approach. We produce content with Sanity for both wall-sized monitors and small mobile screens. And everything in-between!

  ### 15. Elegant, flexible headless CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan G. | Full-stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity gives you complete control over the structure of your content, so there's no wrestling with existing structures. The docs are very good and make it very easy to get up and running quickly. GROQ is great, collaborative editing is useful for teams and the image pipeline (love the ability to specify a hot-spot on an image) makes it very easy to handle media-rich sites.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

No dislikes as such. Only negative I can think of is that migrating data from other CMSs is not hugely straightforward. Would be great to have a slightly easier process.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity gives us a great developer experience and lets us provide clients with a simple editing interface that has only what they need, with no extraneous information that may get in their way.

  ### 16. Great developer experience and useful tool for businesses of all shapes and size

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob C. | Senior Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The developer experience and ability to create easy to use CMS content

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The Desk structure builder isn't always the most straight foward thing to work with and can be a little confusing at first.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building out client website CMSes quickly and efficeiently

  ### 17. A Great Headless CMS with a Ton of Customization Options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Subha C. | Full Stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The clutter-free editing environment is the first thing to notice on Sanity. Sanity also offers excellent pricing and a generous usage quota. Its competitors like Strapi or Ghost charge a lot more or lack features like deploying the studio to the cloud for free.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Nothing till now. The only thing they could have added to the free plan is the Review changes option for like fifteen days would have been great. Currently, they offer seven days.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am hosting my personal blog with Sanity. Other solutions require me to deploy to my cloud instance or use the cloud option they provide for a lot heavier price. Whereas I can deploy my Sanity studio for free with a single command line, and Sanity will take care of the rest.

  ### 18. Always reliably customizable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

It's endlessly customizable. The schema required for each item makes it easy to Create a scaffold for structured content, that I as a developer can grab for use any time i need it.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

With great customization comes great boiler plate and set up. Everything is dependent on an API call. Which is a blessing and a curse. For Speed, and for mobile use.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love what they're doing with structured content use case examples

  ### 19. Great UX and great DX

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The best part about sanity is how quickly you can have a project up and running. All you need to do is define a javascript object and you're good to go.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The only issue we've had with it is there is no baked-in solution for ordering content and the ones available fall short in terms of UX.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity allows our team to move fast and focus on more important things than the technicalities of content entry

  ### 20. Awesome to work with marketing pages, ecommerces and etc

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Renan P. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Developer friendly, easy to build and maintain.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Not type-safe, in V2 has the massive chunk of javascript config files.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating marketing pages, SEO-friendly pages, content as data. I'm using to power up my team with full customizable content

  ### 21. The most user-friendly CMS I've encountered

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity's UI is very user-friendly. The ability to drag and drop and schedule content has been incredibly helpful to our content marketers

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

As of now we haven't created a way to easily export dev data to a production environment. Likely just a us not being mature enough with our implementation to date.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've never been able to schedule content with our previous content management systems. Something so simple is so helpful!

  ### 22. Managing content through sanity is very easy and highly customizable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joice T. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

We can manage text, images, and other media with APIs.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Sometimes data change does not get reflected.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Implemented sanity on an eCommerce site so that anyone who had access can easily edit the page's static contents and messages

  ### 23. Sanity: a flexible and scalable headless CMS tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Ability to modify and add custom validation on top of our Sanity CMS

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

One of our biggest problems is the lack of validation capabilities and checks that can be run when content is modified. We manage our entire menu via Sanity and when the content team makes mistakes in production it can result in costly outages.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity solves for us the ability for our brands to quickly and reliably modify and maintain our menus for our brands.

  ### 24. Easy system to understand after a while

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna E. | Bingo operations manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The best is clarity of how you set up a banner, promotion, and promotion texts.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

For my part not easy to see a overview for repeated schedules

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manual work is now scheduled instead.

  ### 25. Finally a robust but totally customizable platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aymeric W. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Such a great ratio between ease of use out of the box, and ability to code for specific use cases.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

There's not muh to dislike here, everything is really smooth and robust.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We finally have a really simple CMS to use everyday whatever the technical ability of anyone, while still being able to account for specific business use cases. Everyone is more productive and way less time is used in development and maintenance.

  ### 26. Very User Friendly.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason M. | Senior Frontend / UI Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity provides great documentation. It is easy to use and quick to launch for immediate use.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

There is not much I dislike about Sanity. Sanity enables one to add and manage content out of the box and customize content if needed.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have a business where I work with various branding teams to build websites for mostly small businesses. Sanity provides a quick and easy to use content management system.

  ### 27. First line of code to production in 2 days with NextJS and Sanity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I am trying to follow a serverless approach with every application I build and Sanity has been a big help so far. I used it twice with NextJS and it could not be easier to get up and running. Sanity has a great documentation for NextJS as well.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

It would be good to have a self-hosted Sanity Studio.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't need to worry about setting up a DB and maintaining it.

  ### 28. Extremely intuitive CMS platform, with a great developer experience and an amazing community!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Excellent documentation and flexible pricing make Sanity my CMS solution of choice. It's easy to customize and build an intuitive interface for clients - which is already great out of the box, thanks to the effort put into making it responsive and clean.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Owing to their thorough test and review process, it took relatively long for essential features like conditional fields to be available in production. Sanity also does not provide a drag and drop UI builder tool, like some other platforms, which I think might be helpful.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have built content-driven sites such as blogs for my clients, and Sanity proves to be a convenient way for them to manage the content that goes on the website. The ease of use is especially evident from all the positive feedback from clients.

  ### 29. Very Powerful and easy to implement database solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel J. | Full Stack/Blockchain Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I love how easy it is to set up specific queries utilize GROQ principles. Makes it very powerful and light on my applications by allowing me to provide it only with the needed data at that moment in time. Definitely plan on learning more about Sanity io

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

My only dislike is the time it takes to set up a sanity project on my computer. It could be just a computer issue but it does take quite some time just to set up but once it's ready to go it is a very smooth experience and I really enjoy it!

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A very powerful database solution I have been using for personal projects as it is very lightweight allowing for a better experience when loading in data to a website. One of the biggest benefits it has provided me is with unique https api request links based on my defined query I love it! saves so much time on structuring the url to fetch the required data. Love the cors security on the api settings. ensures only my site can make request to the database. provided ease of mind on security. and love the schema concept. makes it very easy to structure how documents are structure and such its a great experience

  ### 30. The Best CMS for Entrepreneurs.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** marc jherico s. | FullStack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Developer Friendly, Fast, and Cost Friendly

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Realtime Draft Editing Sometimes have connection Issue

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developer Friendly, Fast, and Cost Friendly CMS compared to others i have used before.

  ### 31. Sanity erases the need of any custom backoffice solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

It doesn't take long until you can give editors control over any content or feature in your digital solution

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

There's a lot of creating custom code that you must maintain for features that should be built into a CMS

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity is lightweight and gives you control over exactly the content you need to control at that time in a few minutes. No need to do massive migration projects

  ### 32. A flexible and lightweight CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Farming | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I like that it's very flexible in defining the structures for your content and that it can be hosted in Sanity Studio online without needing to spin up my own server.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The user interface seems a little boxy to me. But I guess that can be changed with custom CSS.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing me to add custom content to my products from my Shopify store.

  ### 33. Sanity has totally changed our CMS game with clients

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity allows us to provide a super-dynamic CMS experience for our clients that is easy to use, fool proof, both developer AND content editor friendly and scalable.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Portable text editor could be even more dynamic than it already is. We have utilized lots of aspects of the text editor's functionalities BUT out-of-the box solution to distinguish between text elements and sizes would be appreciated. We are currently developing our own solution but support for this from Sanity's side would be nice. We currently have a solution that allows conettn editors to select h2/large, h2/medium, h2/small, h3/large, h3/medium etc to allow for SEO optimised text content. Resently we needed to add one more variable to the mix, which was text boldness. In effect this went h2/large/regular, h2/large/bold, h2/large/thin etc > this means there are a lot of heading options and it's getting complicated. Annotations can be used to mitigate the complexity - but only to a point. We use annotations to a lot more than just text boldness. We add spacing, text color... Adding two or more annotations to one block of text starts to get funky and results in some ugly html and sometimes even problems we could not foresee. Out-of-the-box solution to this would be awesome.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a dynamic CMS solution that allows us to provide a foolproof editing experience for our customers with varying degrees of technical expertise from tech kids to fax-era boomers with a super dynamic website system. Sanity has allowed us to do this on a level we've only dreamed before providing also a developer friendly working environment.

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Our team loves everything about Sanity.io, but our favorite and most used feature is Sanity Studio. We are so much more efficient with our time and communication ever since making the switch to Sanity.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

I cannot think of anything that I dislike about Sanity as a Sass product/service. The only slightly negative thing that I can say is that we have to spend extra time educating clients on the benefits of moving to Sanity when they are used to using WordPress.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity has helped us solve numerous communication issues centered around content creation and launch. Sanity also helped us improve page load speed which in turn helped our clients see better search engine results.

  ### 35. It's just simply the best headless CMS experience I have ever used.

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Connecting Sanity to my Gatsby site was as easy as adding 7 lines of code in my Gatsby config. This meant all my content could be managed with a fantastic UI, dead simple to design data schemas, and connect it all in ways I couldn't have imagined using a flat JSON file. My data (content) had fewer errors, was easier to update, and was far easier to manage than I ever thought possible. Honestly, I don't know what I was even doing before I started using Sanity.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

There's not much I dislike about Sanity. I have found that some of the documentation pertaining to editing the look of the Sanity Studio editor was outdated. Also, I wish the hotspot & crop functionality in the Sanity Studio editor provided the ability to add custom preview aspect-ratio values, as it only supports 4 sizes out of the box. eg. If I know images are always going to be shown at a specific aspect ratio, it would have been nice to add that aspect-ratio as one of the preview options available.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

Check out some of the tutorials on YouTube to see how easy it can be to get started with Sanity!

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I run a blog that catalogs retro wrestling events from the 80s & 90s, with hundreds of events that all have loads of data (eg. name, tagline, date, promotion, location, venue, card, wrestlers, etc...) and assets (eg. images). The site itself is pretty simple, using the same template layout for each event, so the biggest hurdle in maintaining the site is managing all of that content.

Previously, I was using flat JSON files with an object for each event. As you might imagine, that meant tons of errors in the data entry, making any changes to the data schema meant updating a hundred different places, and updating any content meant I had to manually open my text editor and edit line-by-line. It was not fun.

Switching to Sanity allowed me a much easier way to manage all of that content, connecting pieces of data together in ways I didn't think were possible, all while providing an online editor that I can access with any browser on any machine. Uploading content is as easy as filling in the appropriate fields, I get hints as to what is expected and can use data validation when required. Working with images (I have thousands) is a breeze. Any changes to the data schema are done once in one place. The integration with other products like Gatsby is literally magic.

Perhaps the best part is that if I decide I no longer want to use Gatsby as my front-end framework, my content exists on its own! Separating the content from the framework means I can BMOC (Bring My Own Content) to whatever latest trend I decide I like better going foward. It's that simple with Sanity.

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

You can create your database in just few minutes where in mongodb and all u have to spend a lot of time to make your database. I'll recommend everyone to try it and you really gonna love that

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Till now i don't find any . Everything goes smooth for me.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

If you have to go for creating database and linking it to your frontend without wasting a lot time then you are good to go with sanity.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I want to create a backend with database without spending a lot time in creating database and sanity solved this problem. Now i am able to add database to my website in few minutes of time.

  ### 37. Finally I feel that I control content and that content doesn't control me

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity makes it super simple to define my content structure in an amazing way. Love being able to control and define the content through schemas.
The GROQ query language support it's absolutely amazing.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Make migrations easier.
Being in a startup, we are changing a lot of our structures continuously, and sometimes it feels hard to change structures and fill data.
It would be awesome to have nested filtering as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

Filtering nested queries and better migrations on schema updates 😎

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pfff.. Lots!!
Now we are able to give our product team a nice tool that they can use to update content instead of open issues for use.
Also, it makes our application way faster, and being able to manage content per client it's absolutely amazing.
Also, translation support has been wonderful. We are able now not just to handle translations but even give our clients specific configurations to make our solution feel like theirs.

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The ease to set up a new project, the generous free tier to get started and the great developer experience and docs.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

I'd love to see the option to create and update two-way references in Studio.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity enables me to quickly iterate on new products and prototypes while providing clients with an intuitive environment to control content from day one.

  ### 40. Easy to setup and manage

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunniva H. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I really like how easy it is to get started! Another thing I enjoy is the design and the user experience. It is simple to understand how to publish, what is needed to publish etc.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

I found it somewhat difficult to create my own schemas and how to implement for example things like blocks in them. (Since i am quite used to episerver). But there are good resources both on sanity's page and other pages so i have managed!

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am making a simple page to learn both sanity and next at the same time. I have found that extracting data from sanity to my frontend has been easier than expected.

  ### 41. An excellent headless CMS for Jamstack development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stef L. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I've tried out several of the main headless CMSes and Sanity has just the right balance of being very simple to use for non-technical people and having a good data structure for developers.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The initial setup took me a while to get my head around, but once you've worked out how it all fits together it makes a lot of sense. I'm also not sure that I'd use it if I had very complex data structure / user interaction needs.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

Make sure you're thinking about your data model early and how it connects to what your authors will find easy to work with.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Sanity on a couple of projects where I need data to be well structured in a Next.js app, and I have non-technical folks providing the content. I don't want an interface that means I end up with support questions. It just needs to work, which Sanity does!

  ### 42. Excellent and super versatile headless CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrik A. | Front End Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Love that I have full control over all the fields and can store my configuration as code. I have built a state government web app using nextjs and sanity and it was a great experience. I started building out a second page with it and just love that I have complete control over all the fields and their behaviours in the CMS. On top of it all, the free plan is super generous and works really well when using a nextjs SSG build. Thanks for enabling web devs to use it that way.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

While the documentation is huge, I found it hard at times to find solutions on their page, through searches or on Stackoverflow. Spent a fair bit of time digging through code/issues on github to get an answer.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

Could get quite expensive if you use a lot of data, api calls, need more users. There is no inbetween the free and expensive plans. However, the free plan is very generous and should get you a long way for smaller projects.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Built a web app with auth using firebase and nextjs. Also building a boardgame club website pulling information from meetup.com to serve our members. Both are using the SSG method of nextjs.

  ### 43. There is no end to what you can build with Sanity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edwin B. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

I have used Sanity to build simple business websites all the way to building a Web3 Blockchain NFT games. The flexibility sanity provides is amazing. It's easy to understand how to build with it due to being a simple JSON object. I highly recommend giving it a try. They give you a generous free tier to get started.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

There is not much to dislike, but if I were to choose, it would be nice if a npx script could replace the cli. There have been times updates broke my production site but the team at sanity patched it rather quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

It is a great platform provided you want your data database to be managed by Sanity

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed to provide a JAMstack architecture for my clients and my clients have loved that there is no server they need to manage and starts free and they begin paying reasonable fee as the traffic begins to grow. Sanity really shines in this architecture and many others as well.

  ### 44. Increased productivity for clients and developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The editor and developer experience is good. We can easily create and reuse content and modules.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Documentation is lacking. Getting started is easy, but many details for more advanced use has to be inferred from source code and trail and error

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We reduce developer time building specifically tailored sites.
Editors save time and can reuse content easily.

  ### 45. Love the schema-based set up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph C. | Associate Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

With so many headless CMS out there, I had found I would get halfway through setting up a project, mapping out my content types, etc., then run into something that the platform didn't support. With Sanity it's great because using custom schema types, I'm able to create basically any content structure I like, making content editing and mapping content to my components on-site way easier. Headless CMS are great, but this one really has all the flexibility you'll need.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Initially setting things up can be a bit more involved than other solutions, with the extended customisation available. But once you get over that hurdle it becomes much more powerful. Asset management could be a bit better as well – there's a good media library plugin to help with that though.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used it as a CMS for my dev/design portfolio site. My site has some relatively complex components which I wanted to be able to edit in the CMS environment, which is where the custom schema options with Sanity came in handy.

  ### 46. best for mvp and easy to maintain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ajitesh M. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

it gives us power to build web apps fast.without loosing customisablilty, we can use any kind of front end technology and don't need to worry about backend. it is scalable and fast, we can create MVP of our product (if it is not saas or something completely based on technology). eg. e commerce store, market places, social media etc

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

when I run sanity on my local host it slows down my pc(my pc suck tho) but it's realtime data binding ability (whatever it's name is) really solve it if you host it in our free sanity hosting.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it is fast so we can create MVP asap without worrying about scalability and customisation. we can create any kind of web apps until is doesn't require full root access, most of the cases we don't actually need root access, so it is suitable for most of the cases.

  ### 47. Changes the game for our clients and developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew C. | Principle, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity decouples content and presentation, our clients can focus on creating and managing content without worrying about layout and design across delivery platforms.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

You have to (and should) change your mentality around how content is organized and managed. We find that there is initial resistance in decoupling the presentation layer. Once that is overcome we fine that SMB clients especially will rapidly adopt the approach and publish a lot more a lot faster once they understand.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Typically our clients have content all over the place across multiple systems. From blogs, to e-commerce, to support articles locked in templates or multiple systems (eg Wordpress for web and Shopify for e-commerce etc)

Sanity allows us to centralize everything in and organize in ways that make more sense.

We can integrate across multiple platforms and create a consistent and DRY approach with the flexibility to deliver anywhere, from landing pages, static sites, kiosks, and e-commerce.

Our time to launch complex multi-language and multi-region websites has gone from 2-3 months to 2-3 weeks with far less client onboarding time while creating a lot more creative flexibility in the way content is presented and used.

  ### 48. Our Clients Love Sanity As Their Content Solution.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan M. | Freelance Developer, Designer, Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Once content is moved to Sanity.io it can be seen on any frontend scenario. This means you can shift with the times regarding what user experience is winning the race without restructuring the content that populates the project. This saves a ton of time by allowing you to restructure projects without restructuring content.

Sanity.io also doesn't create an opinionated model for your content. With each project, you decide what is needed. Anything you don't need doesn't exist. This frees up a ton of time either removing, hiding, or updating content editing scenarios that were never in use in the first place.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Tools/Solutions/Tutorials to simplify the migration from popular CMS's could be more abundant. While the migration process helps you leave broken methods in the past, it still would be nice to cherry-pick small tools/tutorials on a case-by-case basis.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

Moving to Sanity.io is an opportunity to bring structure to scenarios that have seemed chaotic and unmanageable in the past. Read the documentation, follow a few short courses, and you'll be thankful for Sanity's refreshing way content be controlled as data.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sanity.io has provided a unified (yet inclusive) content layer for our client projects. Clients reaching out with requests nearly never ends in a 'Sorry that's not possible. When we handle the development of their request, it's incredibly fast and logical to build out.

What we didn't realize the appreciation we'd get for migrating our client work to Sanity.io. To date, every client we have migrated to Sanity.io from their previous content solution (mostly WP or WebFlow) has said something similar to: "I know I would have to stop using my current solution at some point to keep up. I'm relieved at how easy and fast it is to work in the Sanity studio." or: "I feel like I can't break it which makes it way less stressful to work with"

As an agency, Sanity.io has relieved us of feeling like custodians of their content management solution. We spend less time cleaning up things that have broken.

Working with content within the Sanity Studio and migrating page content to Portable text offers so many benefits we never realized possible. So much that after 10+ years of using very established solutions at enterprise levels, we can't even justify continued support moving forward.

  ### 49. Brilliant and powerful Tech, amazing community and support!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saskia B. | Front-End-Entwicklerin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

The simplicity with which such a versatile headless cms can be built. At the same time there is a big and active community that shares, helps and empowers together with an amazing divers team of devRels! There is always a solution nearby and a new idea a talk away.

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

Actually nothing. Whenever i think, that something might be an issue, I can find or code a solution for it. But most of the time the team @ sanity will solve it by listening to the devs inputs in the multiple touch points created in the user/dev journey.

**Recommendations to others considering Sanity:**

Join the community and participate. It is a safe space for everyone and monitored very well. And that's why it is so much fun!

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it as a headless cms for statically generated nextjs sites (for speed and simplicity! If you never tried, DO!) . I am also working on a secure login server-side next application for one of my projects which will also run on sanity.io as a separate dataset, but since content is data ;) I am really looking forward to implementing that!

  ### 50. Sanity gives an amazing editor and developer experience that make structured content a breeze.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roewyn U. | Taekwondo Instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Sanity?**

Sanity has been most helpful with my experience as a developer communicating with content writers/non-developers. Anytime the content model changes, it so easy for me to modify the model schema in the code and that change can be seen immediately. I also love the plugin ecosystem from the Sanity Community like the OG:image generator, code-input, and so many others that have made content and studio configuration so fun to work with. If I want something in my studio, there's a content model that already exists or there's a guide to do what I want (document preview on website, SEO preview).

**What do you dislike about Sanity?**

The Sanity Studio may have some unforeseen issues that affect more of the editor experience than the developer. One that I hear comes up is not being able to copy and paste objects/array values in the editor. Having a special copy/paste button for certain content types may be nice for editors to save time on their work. Another issue I've heard that I know is being worked on is the authentication experience on certain browsers with a google log in. This issue can be a big problem for clients that have trouble accessing the studio. Fixing this problem will help me use Sanity for client projects without worry that they cannot access the contnet.

**What problems is Sanity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Sanity to easily spring up content editing experiences for my jamstack projects. Since using Sanity with Jamstack sites, I can display different content models easily to my audiences and edit them quickly. Sanity's schema structure makes it so simple to take my content from idea to distribution quickly. I like Sanity as it benefits my experience as a developer and editor to best deliver content to users without too much of a hassle.
