"The Most Flexible and Scalable Telecom Solution"
5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Switchvox is a highly scalable, standards-based VOIP solution. It has all the hallmarks of a truly great product, including: support for modern and legacy technologies, a robust API for application integration, an intuitive administrative web interface, comprehensive reporting tools, a highly customizable IVR, programmable event triggers, call log and recording archiving, virtual appliance options, and one of the best support teams available. And because it's based on Asterisk, the gold-standard for VOIP technology, it has a very mature and proven code base. Switchvox was a critical component in the success and growth of our organization. What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Due to it's flexibility, I haven't encountered a need that our Switchvox couldn't fulfill. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy config for our office"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

User interface, I've delegated tasks to others who want access and control over call queues and changes to the system. I don't need to be the point of contact for everything. There is an ease-of-use factor that should be considered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Licensing for updates seems high, especially since I don't realize the benefits and I never need to contact support. Also the licensing can be a challenge when updating hardware. Also, there is no call attendant in the version we're using. This is something we're looking at. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for us"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

For us, Switchvox strikes a good balance of being easy to use and configure while still offering all the features we need. It was easy to setup calls flowing the way we needed. Digium phones configure very easily, and adding some Polycom phones was only slightly more complicated (and well explained in their knowledgebase). Users find both the phones and the web interfaces easy as well.

The Switchboard offers a great way to monitor how calls are flowing and what your phone team is up to in real-time as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

It could have better data export features. You can schedule emails that give summary data - number of calls, talk time, etc. - but you cannot automate exporting full call logs (who called who, for how long, was the call transferred, etc.). A cloud PBX we used previously would email complete call logs as CSV attachments, which was super helpful for us.

It's a fairly isolated system. There really isn't an ecosystem around it to integrate with CRMs, ERPs, BI tools, and so on. There is API support if you have those capabilities in-house but if you're looking for out-of-the-box integrations you'll be left wanting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Made the Switch!"
5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Switchvox gives you powerful VOIP tools in a no-nonsense system for a price that is very reasonable. We are able to serve multiple offices from one location and the admin tools make it a snap to add items into our VOIP ecosystem or make changes. Our salespeople in the field love the flexibility and it is easy fro them to switch calls from their desk phone to their cell phones. You can manage it all yourself without relying on a third party administrator. The web interface is intuitive and easy to get around. It is very easy to see who is on the phone and how many incoming customer calls you are having at any time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Learning to master the system does take some time. More specific videos on each feature and how to program would be helpful. There is not anything I really dislike about the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"E510 review"
4/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

The Digium Switchvox E510 is an easy to configure and use, and the administration is very straight forward. For the money I think they provide a good product and have not had that many issues since we installed it. I like the build quality of the unit and the phones themselves and overall and very happy with it so far. I also like the video phones, they are very good quality and are nice to use. What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Sometimes phones do lock up and require a reboot, luckily most issues have been resolved by restarting the phone and the issue tend to then go away. I also do not like that you cannot easily downgrade the Firmware, or choose which version of the firmware to apply. It would be nice to be able to choose a version to download and apply. "Standard End User Review"

What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

None of it. If it wasn't for Greg Didier, you guys would be out of business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

The user interface is simply terrible and not user-friendly. I've used 100's of digital platforms and dashboards and honestly - this may be the worst. VOIP is a technology that should be scalable and simple for the leyman to understand. Instead, I'm constantly having to call support for simple things like changing user account settings, or data management. Stop trying to use proprietary terminology like "Switchvox". Nobody knows what that is or what it means. Create a central "Digium" login. What is PBX? What is Switchvox? Why is my access denied to the admin portal when I'm an admin? Why do I have to "Login" to each individual extension. The tangled web you guys have created was build in a cave with no reference to any other digital dashboard I've ever used. My advice - Visit callrail.com and copy their platform visuals, ux, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable and Knowledgable"

The service works and I don't have to pay any attention to maintaining an Asterisk box on premises any more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

The web interface is clunky for some features and tries to hand-hold others too much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"PBX is great - Support, not so much"
3/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

PBX has many features and options. Great for small to large companies. Call routing, IVR feature, dashboards, etc. You do not have to use their phones but does offer many features if you use their phones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Support is subpar and Digium does not seem to care about flaws in their system and will try to call the flaw an "enhancement request". There are no productivity type of reports in this phone system. Basic call reports are all that is offered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Modern phone system with quirks"
4/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

As the person who answers most of the incoming calls to the office, the Switchboard has become indispensable. Knowing who is on the phone, and with whom and for how long, gives me a huge boost to handle calls efficiently and professionally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Just like any other piece of tech, there are occasional "blips" in function -- e.g. silence on one or both ends of a call, incoming calls not making it to voicemail, internal calls not connecting. Because our phone provider, Digium, doesn't offer network support, it can be very difficult to diagnose and address the lapses in performance. Essentially, if an issue doesn't happen exactly the same way, multiple times, on demand, then it just becomes something we have to live with.

There are also many functions (pick up, monitor, and intercom in particular) that require you to wait for your phone to ring before you can proceed to the actual task, wasting precious seconds.

The Switchvox app has a lot of potential in allowing our users to not be 100% tied to their desks by taking and making calls from their cell phones as if they were at the office. This benefit has not been fully realized because the app is incredibly finicky (requires very stable wifi or data connection to receive incoming calls, and often will not receive calls if the app is not open on the screen, limiting the ability to multi-task), and is sometimes more trouble than it's worth. "It works as it should"
5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

The ease of use when provisioning users and devices. I've used several different UC solutions, and hands down Digium's Switchvox is the best of them all. The dashboard provides a very intuitive experience for both novice and expert. Not sure about what to do? The Digium knowledge-base tools have helped answer all questions I've had. If you need more in depth help, I've found their customer service and technical support to be second to none. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

There really isn't much that I can say that I dislike. We had some challenges early on with upgrades and how upgrades needed to be applied. This was our own mistake in that we did not upgrade firmware on our devices in a timely manner. Its crucial to keep on top of updates to ensure a smooth upgrade path.
