"Best Cloud VoIP"
5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

The complete solution. Digium gets you out to a great start with their wonderful onboarding team. While there's plenty of training available, the system is so intuitive you don't need to spend a lot of time on training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

This is no fault of Digium's, but porting numbers is always a pain. If Digium could find a way to make this painless, they'd own the industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid Easy to use PBX; Support lacks most.."
4/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Its easy to use and built on a solid system (asterix); out of the box does just about everything you should need and we don't often have technical issues. Config is easy, especially if you have their digium phones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

One huge issue, is call recording cant always be relied upon. If a call is transferred a certain way it may end the call recording. This has been a long standing issue and i'm not sure if it has ever been resolved. The call recording options are pretty weak. You can limit call records to a number or GB; then you have to offload it to a FTP or delete it. Support is lacking; i always get standard cookie cutter answers; but thankfully i dont need to contact them often. It does seem like they have given up on supporting 3rd party phones. "Very stable and scalable system"
5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Switchvox is a very flexible, stable and scalable system that we've had for the last 5 years and we are very happy with it. Before Digium we tried 4 different phone systems but all of them had big stability issues that we couldn't solve.

Also, since Switchvox can be installed in a virtual machine, we can easily recover from any faulty update or bad setup using snapshots.

The interface is very intuitive for our users, it didn't take us more than 1 month to fully deploy and start using switchvox at our office.

Having an API is a big plus because we have a customized CRM that connects to the phone system and we're able to control all calls or even call from our CRM using swithchvox Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Sometimes the biggest updates come with bugs, and usually it's nothing big. Even with this issue is the most stable system we've had so far.

Also their iOS app is not very stable and we haven't been able to use it yet. We've tried Bria instead that seems to be working fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Call Center Focused PBX"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

The ability to use web browser plugins to dial is very convenient. The PBX overview "Switchboard" has great value for visualizing the current call status of various employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Switchvox is developed with the mindset of call center solutions. For small businesses with more phones than users, the concept of having phones scattered around an office with a ring-all setup means every phone will list a missed call. I've discussed this issue with tech support and was recommended to submit a feature request.

Additionally, the D80 flagship desktop phone has been littered with glitches and issues (can be viewed in the firmware update change logs). Additionally, the phone is not nearly as feature rich as many of the touchscreen phones on the market at this time. With a phone of this caliber there should be no reason to have the Switchboard open in addition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Switchvox works for us, it can work for you too"
4/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

We are a small office of <30 employees and we were able to setup and configure our VOIP phones with no issues. Switchvox has great features that allow our employees to work from home or travel and not miss any phone calls. Having our own built in conference number has been a big help as well, reducing our total costs for meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

In some regards, this phone system is more advanced than we need, as we do not use the dashboards/presence nor softphones. However the management of extensions is fairly simple and we are able to rotate on-call extensions with no issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Switchvox made sense from an in-house IT perspective."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

The ease of setup for basic functions was great. It didn't take us long to get basic VoIP phone functionality configured. We were then able to add on extras to our appliance so that we could remove fax lines from our phone contract. The Digium D70 phones work really well and allow us to have a customized list of contacts on the side panel for different buildings and departments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

There is so much to Switchvox that deep diving into the system menus can get overwhelming. If you're new to the system, finding things can take a bit, outside the normal configuration stuff for setup. However, that isn't really anything to dislike as it HAS that many options that it takes a little time to acclimate oneself to the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great service , great product , until.."
4/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

We love our cloud-based voice over IP systems and switch Vox digium cloud. It comes in highly handy in the event that employees need to work from home do the weather related issues couple with the flexibility a virtually any future we really need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

The only issue that we dislike is that once the phone systems go down you can literally be offline up to a couple of hours without no real method of recovery in the event that it is a server related matter. At these moments we wish you had redundant servers

That can immediately pick up a dropped service so the end client is not affected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Game changer for SMB"
5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

We have 35 users and I have to say, the best feature is the use of soft phones. Many users are away from their desk so having the ability to receive calls on their mobile is essential. It also allows us to restrict personal phone numbers from being released to customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

The IVR is my biggest complaint. It is difficult to build and manage more complex IVR setups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Incredibly easy to configure and deploy, would like to see more post-sale value effort."
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Ease of setup. Migration to Switchvox Cloud was painless with the preconfigured phones and intuitive admin UI. The Switchvox admin interface makes it easy to perform many tasks that are difficult or impossible to achieve in other systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?

Troubleshooting tools are not available to the customer. In fact, many basic administrative features are visible in the interface but are completely locked out or restricted. It can be difficult to solve problems without engaging customer support.

Support agents will often not investigate a problem unless you can call and initiate a trace log when the issue is present, and for a very small timeframe (60 minutes). In conjunction with the crippled troubleshooting features in the admin UI, this makes solving transient call quality or connectivity problems almost impossible. Get used to using Wireshark and your own internal trace tools.

Though it is claimed that Switchvox works with Outlook, this has not been the case for a long time as development on the add-in apparently ceased years ago. Integration is a bit lacking all around.

While service outages are rare, communications regarding these incidents is even rarer. Don't bother asking for an estimated time to resolution or for regular status updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
