**What do you like best about Samsara?**

Driver communication through the mobile app makes it easy to give immediate feedback on driving issues and to pass along route changes without needing to call or text the driver.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

There are almost too many features, and it comes with a pretty steep learning curve when you’re trying to figure out everything it can do. On top of that, a lot of the features don’t end up getting used because they aren’t needed, but they still can’t be disabled or removed from the interface.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking drivers and monitoring driving behavior has been very helpful. It allows us to provide reliable ETAs to customers and give drivers immediate feedback when there are driving issues.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I use Samsara to keep in contact with our drivers and technicians. I like the real-time alerts on all my employees, which help me know when they are being safe or if they are the ones responsible for their actions. It helps my drivers stay alert and ensures that all employees are safe. The initial setup was really easy.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I don't like how the seat belt acknowledgment isn't reliable when they are worn properly. Also, the sensitivity of the eye movement monitoring can be problematic, especially when drivers are using the Bluetooth setting on the radio to answer phones. I'd prefer there to be better awareness of when seatbelts are actually being used and more caution before triggering alarms for the drivers.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara to maintain contact with drivers and technicians, ensuring they stay alert and safe. Real-time alerts help me know when they're being responsible, enhancing overall safety.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I enjoy the fuel efficiency and idle time tracking. The code reader is very helpful when a check engine light comes on. Documents are easy to customize and allow me to create any digital form I need. Creating routes and saving addresses is simple and easy to teach to new staff. The code reader reduces downtime for our technicians and drivers by allowing me to quickly identify potential issues and guide them to a speedier resolution. Customizing documents enables our technicians to efficiently fill out parts requests and diagnostic sheets on site, directly uploading required photos with ease. This reduces processing times and minimizes missing crucial information. Route creating is straightforward, which is beneficial due to our seasonal nature where staff may have little to no experience. Simple route creation and location adding help reduce mistakes and training time.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

We are unable to use the Work Flow procedures as they are more geared towards HOS compliant drivers and logistics. I would like to see a more open field of creation for work flow. An integrated check-in on the Samsara Driver App would be amazing for employees working alone. Scheduling and customizing alerts should be more straightforward. Similar to how the custom documents are created. We have no integration with any of our other apps. It would be very helpful if we could integrate our Co op Fuel card and Petro Can Pass locks in order to track fuel purchases. Potential integration with attaching stops to work orders would be an excellent feature for us.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara solves paperwork issues with digital forms and step-by-step customization. It optimizes fuel costs by tracking idling time and improves customer updates with geofences. It streamlines route planning, reducing errors and training for new staff.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like that Samsara is an all-in-one solution because it means I don't have to use multiple different applications. It's very useful for the day-to-day tasks that I do, especially when I'm running reports or helping a legal department determine compliance or safety situations.

You know, there's a lot of red tape on my end from my company because we're such a big utility company. So I can't really speak on a whole lot of what can be improved.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara to ensure accurate driver records, correct mileage and trip utilization, and visibility of our trucks. It helps with DVIR submissions, GPS status, utilization patterns, compliance, safety details, and more, consolidating everything in one place.

I like that Samsara offers an all-in-one platform that is easy to use. Having GPS tracking, dash cams, vehicle diagnostics, and reporting integrated into a single system gives us a comprehensive, real-time view of our fleet. The safety features, especially driver insights and video footage, are incredibly valuable for coaching, incident review, and claims support. I also found the initial setup of Samsara to be straightforward and well supported.

While Samsara is a powerful platform, some aspects could be improved. With the depth of features available, there can be a learning curve—especially for advanced reporting and configuration—so new users may need time and training to fully leverage everything. Some customizations and reports could be more flexible or easier to tailor to specific operational needs.

Samsara solves fleet management challenges by providing real-time visibility into vehicle location, driver behavior, and vehicle health. The all-in-one platform offers GPS tracking, dash cams, diagnostics, and reporting, which are valuable for coaching, incident review, and claims support.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I enjoy using Samsara for tracking all of my fleet vehicles across multiple southeastern states, including Georgia. It's very easy to input all my data and set it all up so I know when maintenance is scheduled for the trucks. The mapping system is great; I can quickly find my trucks across 8 to 10 counties for any repairs or concerns, and it also helps me keep track of my off-road equipment. I really like the mapping and maintenance scheduler features—they're easily accessible from my phone, tablet, or computer, and I can view everything clearly. Overall, Samsara has been a very good choice for both small and large businesses, and I'm extremely pleased with it.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I think the notifications for when some of my PM's and DOT inspections are due could be improved. It would be better if it could notify both myself and my driver one month and two weeks before the due date.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara for fleet tracking across multiple states, making maintenance scheduling easy, replacing paper records. The mapping system helps quickly locate vehicles for repairs. It simplifies tracking mileage and engine changes, making it great for small and large businesses.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I really like the user interface as a whole. Their website's very easy to navigate. And it provides a lot of different functionalities and new features and new innovations all the time. It's always improving and growing and getting better. Having the ability to just know what's going on at all times, not just seeing what's going on with my drivers, but also knowing the weather conditions in the area, the traffic, the construction flows, really everything around all of our drivers gives us a full picture. It's not just a little blip of a camera. I've actually come to like the Samsara interface much, much more than our other GPS options that we have, so I do plan on fully switching to Samsara. The Samsara customer support team was a major help when getting everything set up. They stepped in, helped design our dashboard, walked us step by step through everything, and continued to really check-in and work with us until we got to a point of just pure operational efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I think the in-cab audio features, while they are controllable and manageable on our end, they're very difficult for our employees and drivers to deal with, of just the constant reminders and the sensitivity on some things are a little overly sensitive. So it's led us to have to turn off some features due to the oversensitivity.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like that Samsara is a plug and play solution for most makes of equipment, no matter how unique they are. We use Samsara on a variety of brands including Ford, GMC, Chevy, Mack, Cat, Hydramaxx, Vermeer, and many others. It helps us track everything from pickup trucks, skid steers, dozers, and dump trucks to our side-x-sides, which is essential for GPS tracking and general fleet maintenance. Samsara also helps keep up with preventative maintenance, track equipment usage and idle time, and monitor asset locations at different projects. The initial setup was relatively easy, although we made adjustments over time.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

The small asset tags have not worked the best for us, especially for what we would call the non-powered assets like an excavator bucket or trailer. I also wish we could use it with our Estimating/Field Reporting software to automatically calculate how many hours/miles were used on a job to reconcile our true job cost.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara to track our fleet maintenance and GPS locations, solving issues with preventative maintenance, equipment usage, and project location tracking.

I like Samsara for its real-time location tracking of assets and the ability to monitor and review video footage of trips. This helps us keep a close eye on whether our guards are alert during their shifts, like if they are falling asleep while driving.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Sometimes the drowsy detection doesn't really work. It picks up on officers or drivers who are not drowsy, and it fails to detect those who actually fall asleep, causing crashes. The crash detection can be unreliable because it may not catch actual crashes depending on the g forces hit. There are also issues with the connectivity of the camera, such as upload or download issues, which should notify the admin immediately.

Samsara helps us sometimes prevent severe accidents and provides footage for court if there's an accident. I like its real-time location tracking and ability to monitor and review trip videos.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I’ve been using Samsara for our fleet, and it has quickly become much more than just a tracking tool. While the GPS features are rock-solid, the real value for us has been in the integrated diagnostics and safety features.

Proactive Maintenance: The software doesn’t just tell us where the trucks are; it helps us identify mechanical issues before they become major breakdowns. Having the system automatically send us fault codes directly from the engine is a huge time-saver. It allows us to address repairs precisely and keeps our specialized trucks on the road longer.

Complete Visibility: The camera system is top-tier. Having both forward-facing and driver-facing cameras provides a full picture of what’s happening in the field. It’s been an essential tool for exonerating drivers in "he-said, she-said" situations and helping us coach our team for better safety.

If you are looking for a platform that combines telematics, real-time maintenance alerts, and driver coaching into one dashboard, I can’t recommend Samsara enough. It’s made managing our fleet significantly more efficient.

One major problem it addresses is operational inefficiency. With real-time tracking, route optimization, and automated workflows, Samsara reduces unnecessary delays, improves dispatching, and increases overall productivity. This translates into smoother day-to-day operations and better on-time performance. 

It also tackles high operational costs, particularly around fuel usage and vehicle maintenance. By identifying inefficiencies like excessive idling, poor routing, or unsafe driving behaviors, Samsara helps reduce fuel expenses, prevent costly breakdowns, and extend vehicle lifespan—delivering measurable cost savings over time.

I like how easy it is to navigate through the Samsara dashboard and how easy it is to train others on pulling reports and monitoring safety events. I also enjoy the live features, especially when in the middle of an operation. It was easier to navigate than other tools we used before, and we can pull videos right away. The initial setup was also very easy.

I think being able to have the GPS and the routing on the live map will assist us better.

I really enjoy using Samsara and have had a positive experience with it. Samsara has been a great tool for managing our hours of service and has significantly helped us with our claims, especially in identifying when we are at fault or not, and resolving those issues quickly. I find the camera systems particularly useful for video feedback and reporting. The setup was easy, and any small issues we had were addressed quickly, making everything run smoothly. I also appreciate how quickly Samsara addresses any concerns. Overall, everything's been going great.

I really like Samsara's location, safety, and maintenance features. It's really easy to operate. The app allows our field technicians to locate equipment quickly, getting them within five feet of it, which is super helpful. The initial setup was very easy and time efficient, taking our team no time to install.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Maybe a little more on the customer reporting. And the data. We only get a thirty day window. So if we were able to go back a year and have the data actually load, that'll be beneficial.

The safety features are great because they enable us to see what our drivers are doing correctly and incorrectly, allowing us to train them on proper driving procedures. The installation of the hardware was very simple and straightforward, and the software setup, along with the interface UI, was very easy to learn and navigate. I attended several of Samsara's live training courses and most of the recorded webinars, which helped me effectively train lower-level users on using the dashboard correctly.

I would like for there to be the option to add an SD card or USB micro flash drive to enable onboard recording and store the entire feed from cameras or peripherals. Sometimes we want to see more than the 40 minutes provided and would like to see the entire driving period. We also want the ability to add an external battery that auto-enables when the vehicle is off and the battery voltage drops. We had to make modifications to the supplied ODB2 Y interface cable as it didn't fit several vehicles. Maybe have a means to purchase vehicle-dependent adapters.

This is really helpful for auditing our time clocks since some technicians forget to clock in or out, especially during lunch. There's a spot where you can look at a specific day, view all their stops, and look at their pictures, which helps us determine if they were really at a customer's home or not. For example, if someone stopped at Chick-fil-A, it indicates they should have been clocked out. It really allows us to make sure that we're not overpaying any of our technicians.

I like the ease of the Samsara app and find the updates awesome and user-friendly. I really enjoy that the app now reflects the same information that I have on my desktop because I'm not always at a computer. Samsara has now kind of gotten as close to being a desktop operating experience as it could, which is great for my small business where I'm not normally at a desk and I'm often running around trying to get things done. I like the movability that it offers me, and my drivers seem to have no issue with it either, as some of the other apps are not as driver friendly. Additionally, I have to say that my drivers are happier with the smaller format in terms of footprint inside the truck. The actual device, the ELD itself, is much more friendly for spacing, so that we like. The initial setup was very easy, very user-friendly, and super simple.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I have a really hard time changing the duty status, like if the driver needs to refuel, I can't change it to off duty if they forget to put PC. It's really difficult to click a segment to then change it to personal conveyance, fueling, or off duty. I think the editing process for timing or the truck's use could be a little more user friendly. I had Motive before Samsara, and Motive was very easy to edit without messing up my HOS hours. The system sometimes thinks the driver's driving at odd hours, messing up the hours of service. Also, it sometimes lags when trying to find my asset, and some of the reporting can be a bit difficult to navigate. Motive had great tutorial guides on how to run specific reports. I'm not sure if Samsara has that, or maybe I haven't come across it.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like that customer service is always available and the AI answer tab where I can receive instant answers to questions. I like the ability to monitor my crews and to get notifications in real time to events. The initial setup of Samsara was great, and we switched to it from Lytix because of the customer service and the additional options Samsara offers.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I am frustrated with the coaching process because employees are given too much time for self-coaching. I do not like being limited on my streaming. I wish I could stream more, without a time limit. The camera not recording when the unit is not in motion is another issue for me. I'd prefer if the camera could monitor even when the truck isn't running.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara to monitor driving habits, secure wheelchair bound patients, manage fuel use, address unsafe driving, and enhance timeliness. It alerts us in real-time and ensures employees receive needed training.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

One of the most useful things about using Samsara is the ability to easily track both our work trucks and equipment in real time. At our company, we use it to monitor things like fresh air trailers and radius gas monitors. Having that visibility helps ensure that important equipment doesn’t get misplaced or accidentally left behind somewhere in a plant or job site.

Another major upside is the convenience of having everything in one platform. It makes it easy to quickly check where equipment is located and confirm that it has been returned or moved to the correct location. This has improved accountability and helps our team stay more organized when managing multiple pieces of equipment across different sites.

Overall, Samsara has been very helpful for asset tracking and fleet visibility. It gives us peace of mind knowing we can quickly locate our trucks and critical safety equipment when we need it.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

A minor challenge is that GPS tracking can occasionally have slight delays or location updates that are not perfectly precise, particularly in large industrial plants or areas with limited signal.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara helps us solve the problem of keeping track of our work trucks and important equipment across multiple job sites. In our line of work, equipment like fresh air trailers and gas monitors can easily get moved between facilities or different areas of the plant. Before using Samsara, it could sometimes take weeks to figure out exactly where equipment was located if misplaced. 
 
Samsara helps save me time because employees don’t have to search around job sites trying to locate equipment.

Overall, it improves organization, accountability, and efficiency. Being able to quickly locate our assets ensures we always have the equipment I need for the job and helps keep operations running smoothly.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I love the ease of use with the Samsara platform. As a daily user, routing is one of the easiest features to use, from creating a route to editing a route. It is very efficient for maintaining fleet maintenance records. Adding admins, users or drivers is a breeze when using the platform. Implementing the company telematics policy with our company has been great due to the safety features. Integrating new users into the samsara platform to use on their daily routes has been an absolute breeze. The few times I have had to use customer support, they have been more than helpful and always solved my minute problem.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

The only downside I have found is the inability to change the maps from car routes to trucking routes.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main issue I was dealing with was driver safety. Our new company telematics policy, paired with safety scores that are broken down by department and by driver, has helped make our drivers much safer on the road. With the new implementation of Samsara Maintenance, it’s also much easier for me to keep track of my fleet.

I find Samsara fairly easy to use, which makes it straightforward to manage our fleet. I like that it works well with Fleetio, because it integrates seamlessly with the tools we already use. The ability to customize is a big plus for me, as it allows me to tailor the software to better fit our needs. The live streaming cameras are quite helpful because they enable me to track drivers and see exactly what they do, which adds a level of oversight and security I find valuable. Also, the initial setup was very easy, which made transitioning to Samsara a smooth process.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I can't stand how they continue to take things away and make them a subscription-based service. We used to be able to store employee documents in Samsara and had access to far more training videos.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara solves IFTA reporting, enhances safety programs, and provides tracking. The live streaming cameras help me track drivers and see exactly what they do.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I love the truck tracker share link in Samsara. It lets me share with customers, so they don't keep calling me every twenty minutes asking where the truck's at. I can set the link for however long, and they just check it themselves. It really cuts down on guesswork and making excuses, and the customers can see the truck live. They can go run errands or whatever they need to do, knowing exactly when the truck will arrive. Samsara was so good, I praised it and managed to get our district and HR on board, and we switched over almost immediately. The interface is easy and intuitive, which was a big deciding factor for the switch. Also, the initial setup was extremely easy with great support from their reps, even across time zones. They are always a pleasure to talk to and easy to get a hold of, shipping out any needed parts quickly, which makes me feel like a priority. It's just fantastic, really.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Samsara has a lot of features that I don't really tap into as a location manager. We have a person in charge of more detailed transportation items, and Samsara is super useful for him. But I don't get into it as much as maybe I need to. While it's very helpful, I don't access those pieces of data all the time, and when I do, it's crucial they are accurate. I wouldn't say these aspects don't work well for me, but I don't work with certain aspects as much as I should.

Samsara solves the guesswork of truck locations and ETAs, allows us to locate non-powered assets, and reduces customer calls with the truck tracker link, enhancing our logistics management and communication with customers.

I really like Samsara for its constant reminders that help with distracted driving and speed reduction. It reminds me to put on my seat belt, which is great for safety. As a supervisor, I appreciate the access to videos from the workers to keep an eye on adherence to safety practices, like not wearing seat belts. It's been a great asset installed on our company vehicles at Junior Davis Construction, providing a lot of safety for us who drive every day. The transition has been smooth and beneficial for the company, and I think it's going to provide great benefits, especially during the crazy traffic in Orlando, Florida.
