It picks up on officers or drivers who are not drowsy, and it fails to detect those who actually fall asleep, causing crashes. The crash detection can be unreliable because it may not catch actual crashes depending on the g forces hit. It's great to check engine lights and all kinds of different things. It also helps that I can look into a check engine light before the equipment comes back to the shop, so I'm ready to fix it. It's still a work in progress. The program also seems to be frequently wrong about speed limits, which then lowers my score. This is true in the desktop admin and the app. If I wanted to look at the camera for Vehicle 01 you would think, click on Vehicle 01. Nope. For some reason it's ONLY under Safety. It's probably the biggest thing for us, and the ability to set up harsh events for round-the-clock monitoring is valuable. Having around-the-clock alerts if someone is involved in an accident allows me to follow up promptly. The ability to customize reports and the driver app are very useful. **What do you dislike about Samsara?** We've had several representative changes; I personally could not tell you now who is over our account. We did finally have a meeting with our sales represenative who is going to be offboarding from our account in February. I'm not sure who our next account representative is going to be. But I definitely would like more communication and kind of more catering to our size of a fleet. Why would anyone ONLY want to look at it one day at a time? And why only 500 meters? It takes 5 minutes to walk that distance, someone could very easily park a vehicle outside that range and walk to a location. Also, the placement of the interior camera. It's decently easy to use. They store a lot of storage for footage. **What do you dislike about Samsara?** Pulling the footage takes a long time and it's not always known if you're pulling the correct footage because the system doesn't let you scrub to see what it is you're pulling, the cameras turn themselves off if the trucks are left idle for more than 7 days and our field slows down drastically in the cold months, the cameras have been unplugging themselves and reactivating themselves at random and don't have a wide field of vision. Support mostly sends links that are on their website for help until you manage to get escalated and that takes a while. **What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?** Pulling accident footage and refuting claims of damage that are not brought to the field employees attention and tracking drivers in regards to their location and jobsite. ### 19. It's helpful for knowing where the trucks are and tracking how long a route or job took. Additionally, it's good to see the status updates for each driver. **What do you dislike about Samsara?** I think the biggest issue that I have with Samsara is that it captures a lot of the incorrect detections, such as the seat belts. A lot of the times when I'm checking my queue, drivers are actually wearing seat belts, but due to the fact that they're wearing high visibility clothing, it gets kinda camouflaged in the camera, I guess, and it starts triggering off. Another issue I have is the fact that a lot of our trucks right now have tablets issued by the company, and there isn't really a distinguishable factor between the tablet and the cell phones. So Samsara keeps thinking that they're using cell phones while driving, but they're not. So those are the biggest kinds of issues we have. **What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?** Samsara helps me monitor triggers like distracted driving, seatbelt use, and harsh braking, which is crucial for fleet and driver management.
