The initial step is not that simple, although there are some SOPs provided by the platform,there are a quite few options that you often have to figure out on your own However, despite all that ,we consider it a Tpo platform in our company. In the past, gaps in our ability to retrieve and review video footage from a unit have cost us and impacted us negatively. What I really appreciate about Samsara is that it's very helpful. It allows me to access tracking for all the trucks at one time, which is super convenient. The geological and satellite tracking is great for keeping track of everything effectively. It also assists in managing the fuel levels and consumption, which is a fantastic feature to have. User-friendly, with ongoing improvements. It gives me everything I need in an ELD, along with safety and preventive measures I can use to cut down on safety issues. For example, if I have a driver using Personal Conveyance on his log, it would be helpful to switch to the map so I can see where he is, and also pull up the camera view. Super user friendly - you can easily figure out the basics yourself. Also the overall experience and the fact that you can integrate so much with Samsara, it is almost mind boggling. We STILL DONT HAVE AN ON TRACK OPTION!!! I have been begging for our Hi Rail vehicles that can travel on both the road, and the rail to have a special option or settings for when they set their vehicles on the Rail Road Tracks. Right now our drivers get so many in cab alerts (and ones we don't want to turn off) but its for things they don't have to follow while on track (i.e. cell phone usage is allowed, not wearing a seatbelt, distractions). We use it mostly for fleet management and drivers this is best in both we can track the assets on time and keeping records for maintenance and fuel management. AI not working properly in terms of report creation before publication we need to verify every time. I appreciate that Samsara provides security to our drivers and users with dash cams for our fleet. Samsara was very helpful during the RFQ process, being very timely in providing all the information we needed. They also provided specifics and helped us set up a demo to try the product, which was very beneficial for the company to understand how the product worked and verify it was the right purchase for our needs. The initial setup was very straightforward, just a matter of installing dash cams, and Samsara was timely and thorough in providing the necessary tools. The simple, highly customizable dashboard that can be tailored to provide employees with the information pertaining to their specific responsibilities is great. The intuitive onboarding process got that information to those employees immediately when we went live. When we signed the agreement, our primary objective was knowing where key assets were physically located, Samsara gave us much more. It provides real time locations of where assets are located, and we no longer have to play the game of tracking down who used it last and which property did they leave it at? We are able to allocate equipment expenses based on actual usage whereas before it was based on an arbitrary percentage or just divided out equally amongst cost centers. They are constantly updating and releasing new features, UI is user friendly and intuitive for the most part. The technology itself is powerful and works well. I work in Safety so i cannot speak on the technological integration aspect nor billing. The support can be lacking at times, sometimes follow up from Customer Support is slow or requires active pursuit from customer end. We had previous issues with Account Executives that didnt really do anything for us however we have since resolved that issue. AI seems to be ok for basic data requests, i have not used it beyond that capacity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Samsara? Customer support can be lacking at times (i.e. keeps kicking the can down the road to someones else, poor follow up on issue resolution) and we have had bad experiences with past account executives. It is solving our fleet management needs which benefits us through integrating it into our fleet policy so that all company drivers can be managed/monitored through this system, including training and some coaching. I find Samsara's cameras essential for safety, helping us maintain a strong safety program. The platform is great at ensuring our drivers follow traffic rules and watch their speed. It's particularly useful for our drivers to get load assignments directly through the Samsara app, without needing their phones. That convenience is a huge plus. Samsara is very easy for our company to use, and it's straightforward for the drivers too. They're able to log in easily, select their trucks, and receive load offerings throughout the day.
