Overall when we needed to make changes the customer support was on point, ready and willing to help. Needed to upgrade and they walked me through. I want playback with a map, but the map doesn't exist in playback. It was also installed on windows 10 when just a few months later 10 would be depreciated. Great product and Technical Support. We primarily use it as CompleteView as it integrates into Symmetry or can be used as standalone CCTV system. Salient integrates with so many camera models/manufacturers and offers such a wide range of options including intelligent video. Setting the system up and ease of use is a great benefit for us since it reduces our technician onsite time and reduces calls from our end users with questions. I like that all the people at Salient Systems are here in the United States. It makes Salient Systems a great business partner when we're serving customers and helping them retrieve video. The initial setup was very easy, and the training that our technician received allowed him to acclimate quickly to the CompleteView software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Salient Systems? One of the challenges we found was the initial password was not written correctly. The directions for the latest server we purchased were that the initial default password was supposed to be case sensitive. I find Salient Systems to be an exceptional video surveillance and management solution. It performs exceedingly well and allows for tailoring the user experience to specific roles, such as enabling our main lobbies to access a manageable number of cameras with tailored permissions. The system is impressive in its ability to filter down individual needs and provide oversight perfectly aligned with our business requirements. What truly stands out is Salient's commitment to staying on the cutting edge of technology. This forward-thinking approach supports our environment significantly, enabling us to keep up with emerging technologies without the need for constant market research on our part. Additionally, Salient's software provides tools for efficient user management across various segments and subsegments of our vast organization, making it possible to operate with a single management server while still addressing specific regional and security needs with ease. The setup was straightforward, made smoother by their engineer's direct assistance, and I am fully satisfied with their offerings, enough to highly recommend Salient Systems to colleagues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Salient Systems? I wouldn't mind seeing the capability for the software to hold larger camera layouts without risking lag. We have large monitors in our SOC and some could benefit from larger camera counts in a layout, but once you surpass a certain amount, things may start to move a little slow. I would also like to see an improvement on the playback for dewarped cameras. That can sometimes move a little slow. I would love to see the Quicktrack feature be able to be used for playback video. For example, Quicktrack can stitch together multiple cameras into one video file, almost like editing a movie. But this is only if you see something in real time. I love how simple Salient Systems is to use; it makes my work incredibly easy and straightforward. The direct support from Salient Systems' team to the end user is a huge plus for me personally, ensuring that my issues are promptly attended to. Managing licenses through Salient Systems is amazing, and they offer a wide range of support that I can't find with any other vendors or systems. The Salient employees are fantastic; every time I reach out with an issue, they are highly supportive and quick to resolve my problems, never letting me down.
