Our requirement was simple on paper: when a rep touches a lead, advance that lead's cadence stage automatically. Every path we tried hit a wall. A record-triggered flow on the Lead using LastActivityDate as the entry condition builds cleanly, validates, activates, and then simply never fires. LastActivityDate is system-calculated and the background update is not treated as an edit to the Lead, so Lead-based automation is bypassed. There is no error and no warning. It looks healthy in Flow Builder and does nothing. Support's recommendation was to rebuild the trigger on the Task object filtered on WhoId. Reasonable in theory, but Einstein Activity Capture does not write captured emails as Task records. They live outside the org and surface as virtual records on the timeline, so there is no record for a Task-triggered flow to fire on. Emails are visible but not usable by automation. The Summer '25 sync setting addresses part of this, but it is conditional and does not backfill history. Separately, EAC authenticates against a single mailbox, so mail sent from a Google Workspace send-as alias does not get captured at all. We only found that by testing it ourselves. None of these limitations are surfaced in the product where you would encounter them. You discover each one after building something that quietly does not work. The ubiquity of the platform's use makes troubleshooting less challenging based on the community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Salesforce Headless 360 Platform (formerly Salesforce Platform)? The cobbled together nature of the various parts of the platform makes the ecosystem a nightmare to maintain. Elements don't integrate well together, with one of the worst offenders being SFDC to Pardot, with sync delays causing real issues for businesses of medium size or larger. Customer support is non-existant, and staff are only interested in extending and increasing contract size - not working with customers to find the right solution for their situation. If the price was competitive this may be fine, but given the combination of drawbacks it's clear that Salesforce is no longer the way to go. There are better alternatives out there now. Not dynamic or fluid... seems heavy and slow. Customising reports or pages takes forever. Far too many clicks required for simple things.
