"Salesforce for Higher Ed "

What do you like best?

I like that Salesforce offers a product that helps break down the silo's within higher education. Using the Salesforce Advisor Portal combined with case management, allows visibility into what is happening with a particular student at any point in the recruitment or student life cycle. From prospect to alumni, we can see where the student has been and their experience thus far.

What do you dislike?

Nothing, I love Salesforce Education cloud for higher ed.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Using SAL and case management together with Marketing Cloud offer a very transparent look into students within higher education.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving an issue with transparency among different departments and use cases. Our advisors use Salesforce differently than our recruiters or support staff but all of them have needs that must be met and configured to play nicely.

"Salesforce For Higher Ed is an Outstanding CRM Option"

What do you like best?

Salesforce for Higher Ed is finally just that, Salesforce that has been tweeked to work with higher education institutes. We came over originally before Higher Ed was built out and while it was good, this just makes it better and so adapt at higher ed needs

What do you dislike?

If you already had Salesforce set up in your org before Higher Ed was announced it can be hard to transition and keep all of your data intact. That said, it has a lot more benefits than minus at this point. It can be hard to administer and you will need a full time admin to make this work for you.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

There are really only two solutions out there now. Salesforce for Higher Ed or Slate. Slate may be easier initially but Salesforce is the industry leader in CRM technology and should be the main selling point. We are glad we switched and haven't looked back yet.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The ability for counselors to create tasks for themselves and log activities has been outstanding. This keeps counselors up to date and keeps from losing students that might have otherwise fallen between the cracks.

What Higher Education Student Information Systems solution do you use?

"Salesforce's Dynamic Tool for Higher Ed Institutions "

What do you like best?

The capabilities with each object in higher ed makes it easy for admissions and advancement to track the progression of student and alumni in one place. The ability to integrate with other software through the APP exchange is also a huge plus for any school that in not already running on one specific platform. Fantastic Customer Support as well.

What do you dislike?

Salesforce can be overwhelming for schools who are just learning about its capabilities and may be a budget concern for smaller schools looking to get a powerful all in one CRM tool. It may also be difficult to get entire institution to believe in the product, so starting in key departments may be helpful when initially implementing.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Great tool if a powerful CRM is needed for the Higher Ed institution.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Giving schools the power to track all aspects of their organization and ultimately provide a better experience for their students, faculty, visitors. Consolidating all of an organizations business processes in one place can allow for better long term practices, cut down on costs, and create an organization that is in sync.

When comparing feature by feature it clear that Salesforce in the highest cost product in the CRM SaaS industry.

"Great software with a reliable name"

What do you like best?

Salesforce offers solutions that allows my school to better connect to, engage and recruit students through 1:1 communication. We use this for thing such as the FAFSA and other communication needs. It creates a direct line of communication between the school and the student.

What do you dislike?

It is pricey to begin with. There are many other options out there that less expansive and have more features. It also changes the role of students into customers/clients instead of people and makes them into numbers.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Great software!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The problems that are bring solved with Salesforce for Higher Ed is that it is connecting students one on one. The benefit is that it is helping everyone to stay connected. It is beneficial for the school because it streamlines the processes.

"SalesForce "

What do you like best?

Its amazing. Its a one point of contact for everything. It lets me see perspective students and all their interactions, social media posts, and so on so that we recruit the right students from the start. Then it tracks and keeps up with all correspondence with the perspective student through the recruitment process, once they register, and throughout their time spent with us. It doesn't matter what media we use for communication it puts it all in one location. Also, because of cloud access when traveling or working from home all the information is accessible. I don't have to lug a laptop, my phone or iPad works great.

What do you dislike?

So far I haven't found anything that really doesn't meet our needs or that I find troublesome. It has been an overall great experience.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would highly recommend it. It makes everything so easy and simplifies your life. It allows work to flow so much smoother. When traveling it makes everything easy and accessible. It stores on the cloud so you don't have to have your desktop. You can use laptops, phones, tablets. IT works across windows and macs. ITs great.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Recruitment, management of communications for traveling and remote employees, keeps up with everything. It makes accessibility easy and communication. Its everything in one location.

"Salesforce HEDA "

What do you like best?

OOD allows connections across many different objects. Opportunities allow admission to track application through matriculation (and beyond for those who want to venture into current student enrollment) and more. Open source provides this platform with the ability to meet almost any requirement by Higher Education institutions

What do you dislike?

Some updates that should already be available, but have been taking time due to upvotes on the PowerofUs Hub (i.e. e-mail report .xls to user).

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using this platform to track throughout enrollment funnel from Lead to Matriculation. Tracking conversions and knowing what lead sources provide the best ROI is helpful is planning purposefully for each recruitment cycle.

"The Best"

What do you like best?

Salesforce is the absolute best. I use this to manage all of the leads coming into our school, then adjust each leads status to show who we've contacted, what class their interested in, if they've toured the school, and if they've enrolled!

What do you dislike?

I wish there was a way to automatically check for duplicate leads as they come in to Salesforce. We have to manually do this which is time consuming.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Download apps and ad-ins to improve your user experience.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keeping track of the lifespan of our leads. We can also see where each lead came from (our website, google search, social media page, etc.).

"Salesforce for Higher Ed"

What do you like best?

I really liked that software crm because it helped organize all students and faculty data into one centralized place vs before our CRM broke and didn't have the power like salesforce does.

What do you dislike?

I don't like the fact that salesforce for higher ed takes a backend employee to run and having to contact that person frequently to fix fields can be time consuming.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Used this to solve business problems such as storing all leads and contacts in one place and being able to mass email leads at a time.

Organization of information allowing for easy accessibility and clean data management. Easy to train and software offers many customization features to better fit a company's needs.

"Flexible SIS System "

What do you like best?

Salesforce is a great tool to organize all of our students information. We are able to track students through their different stages and making it easier to connect with them.

What do you dislike?

There is a very steep learning curve with Salesforce for SIS and taking time to learn how to use it is the most time consuming part.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Being able to see where each student is, whether is a prospective student, current student, or alumni we are able to track what stage they are in. This makes it easier for use to connect with them and send them the proper information they need.

"Game Changer"

What do you like best?

Using Salesforce for recruitment efforts has been a game changer. It is user-friendly and intuitive, increases efficiency and organization like crazy, and has opened up countless opportunities for us to refine our processes and offer applicants a better experience.

What do you dislike?

Honestly nothing; there is no perfect system, but Salesforce comes closer than anything else I've worked with.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One problem with managing a large volume of applicants is that people can easily slip through the cracks. By allowing us to create tasks for each step of the process (especially using if-then scenarios/conditional programming), Salesforce has allowed us to stay on top of each applicant.

What do you like best?

It’s easy to navigate. An entry level professional could figure it out within a day

What do you dislike?

It was almost too basic. I would have liked to see an accounts section along with adding contacts inside accounts.

It was hard to keep track of each individual contact especially having over 200 clients

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I answered that in the dislike section
