## Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud) Reviews
  ### 1. The Ultimate Architecture for Zero-Copy Data Harmonization and AI Grounding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jasjit s. | Technical Lead, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud)?**

The absolute best feature of Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360) is the Zero-Copy Data Architecture. Being able to federate data directly from external enterprise data warehouses like Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery without physically moving, replicating, or running heavy custom ETL pipelines is an architectural game-changer. It drastically lowers data storage overhead and integration latency. Combined with the Identity Resolution engine, it allows us to reconcile messy, disparate source data into a single, highly reliable 'golden record' profile that updates dynamically

**What do you dislike about Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud)?**

While the native integration features within the Salesforce core stack (Sales, Service, Marketing Cloud, Agentforce) are seamless, handling edge-case data integration pipelines with complex, non-Salesforce third-party legacy systems still requires substantial custom configuration. The 'Zero-Copy' data virtualization architecture is amazing for primary data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery, but for out-of-the-box native connectors to smaller external business tools, the selection is still somewhat limited compared to long-standing standalone CDPs. This often forces teams back into standard ingestion pathways

**What problems is Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Salesforce Data 360 effectively eliminates the persistent challenge of enterprise data fragmentation by harmonizing siloed structured and unstructured data across disparate systems into a single, unified "golden record" customer profile. By leveraging an advanced Zero-Copy architecture, it eliminates the need for costly, high-maintenance ETL pipelines by virtualizing and querying data in place directly from external warehouses like Snowflake or Databricks. This real-time data ingestion provides immediate, actionable insights across Sales, Service, and Marketing Clouds, enabling hyper-personalized automation and serving as a secure, accurate metadata foundation to ground autonomous AI tools like Agentforce. Ultimately, these capabilities benefit organizations by lowering data engineering overhead, significantly reducing cloud storage costs, improving cross-departmental collaboration, and accelerating time-to-value for enterprise analytics and AI initiatives.

  ### 2. Unified, Real-Time Customer Profiles with Powerful Identity Resolution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ameer A. | Salesforce Developer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud)?**

What I like best about Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud) is how it brings all of our customer data together in one unified view. Before adopting it, our customer information was scattered across sales, service, marketing, and external sources — which made personalization and segmentation really difficult. With Data 360, we finally have a centralized and real-time profile for each customer that’s accessible across the entire Salesforce platform.

The data modeling and identity resolution capabilities are particularly strong. They make it easy to merge duplicate records and maintain clean, accurate profiles without extensive manual work. This has improved the quality of our analytics and given our teams confidence in the metrics they use to make decisions.

Another major benefit is the real-time data updates. Campaigns and journeys now react instantly to customer behavior, which has helped us deliver more timely and relevant experiences. It’s also straightforward to connect Data 360 with other Salesforce clouds (like Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud), which has streamlined our workflows and reduced integration complexity.

Overall, Data 360 has significantly improved how we understand and engage with our customers, making data more usable and actionable across teams.

**What do you dislike about Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud)?**

One of the main challenges with Salesforce Data 360 is the initial setup and learning curve. The platform is powerful, but configuring data streams, identity resolution rules, and data models requires a solid understanding of both Salesforce architecture and data management concepts. For teams without strong technical resources, onboarding can feel complex.

Another drawback is cost. Data 360 is a premium product, and pricing can scale quickly depending on data volume and usage. For mid-sized organizations, this can become a significant investment.

Performance can also depend heavily on how well the data model is designed. If not structured properly from the beginning, you may face delays in processing or difficulty in creating segments. Additionally, troubleshooting data ingestion or identity resolution issues sometimes requires deeper platform knowledge than expected.

Overall, while it’s a very capable solution, it does require proper planning, skilled resources, and budget to fully realize its value.

**What problems is Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Salesforce Data 360 is solving one of our biggest challenges — fragmented customer data across multiple systems. Previously, our sales, service, and marketing teams were working with different versions of customer information, which led to inconsistent communication and limited personalization. Data 360 consolidates all that data into a unified customer profile, giving us a single source of truth.

It also helps solve identity resolution issues. We used to struggle with duplicate records and incomplete customer views. With Data 360’s matching and reconciliation capabilities, we can merge records intelligently and maintain cleaner data, which improves reporting accuracy and decision-making.

Another major problem it addresses is real-time engagement. Before, we relied on batch updates, which delayed campaign triggers and personalization efforts. Now, customer behavior is reflected almost immediately, allowing us to trigger journeys, segmentation, and communications in near real time.

The benefit for us has been better segmentation, more targeted campaigns, and improved customer experience. Our teams collaborate more effectively because everyone is looking at the same data foundation. Ultimately, it has helped us move from reactive communication to proactive, data-driven engagement.

  ### 3. The easiest way to ingest data I have seen in some time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack S. | Managing Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud)?**

The zero-copy functionality has proved its value time and time again. Allowing a seamless, cheap and easy way to bring data into your Salesforce instance for segmentation, analytics, AI, or any other purpose.

**What do you dislike about Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud)?**

The party identifcation DMO proves rather difficult to break down and understand, and a good technical understanding of this and the 360 model is needed in order to properly drive unification. At the time we implementated, the documentation was somewhat poor however since then, it has significantly improved, and the online communities such as Data Blazer proved a fruitful source of infomration.

**What problems is Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Integrations, particuarly using a connector or zero copy, are far easier, quicker, and require less resources to setup.

-Being able to show data from Data Cloud using the Copy Field/Related List has meant that adding new fields and allowing access for advisors has streamlined business processes.

- The future of the platform is being built on Data Cloud, and preparing it using connectors and Data Kits has been relatively seamless since the beginning and does not require a mass of resources to get in place.

**What do you like best about Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud)?**

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Suite is an extremely potent arsenal of tools that empowers us to seamlessly build hyper personalized, cross-channel marketing campaigns. Being able to segment audiences, build automated workflows and track our messaging in real-time has transformed the way we approach marketing. Syncs with other Salesforce products and provides easy to work data share options which further enrich our understanding of customer behavior. The amount of customization you can do with those services is insane and that is what helps tailor your campaigns to very specific customer needs.

**What do you dislike about Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud)?**

Onboarding new users to Salesforce Marketing Cloud Suite is challenging due to the intense learning curve. In addition, the user interface is powerful at getting specific data back into your hands but it feels clunky and to use features correctly its assumed you've gone through a boot camp of some sort. Finally, the complexity of the suite sometimes adds problems: degraded system performances and everyday bugs interrupting workflows. In addition, the platform can be quite expensive for smaller businesses or those with restrained marketing budgets. Continuous monitoring and management through a dedicated team also adds to the total expense

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Suite has solves multiple problems in our marketing operations. One, it allows us to consolidate all our customer data; across different platforms for a complete 360 view of each buyer. The suite's automation arms have also let us automate our marketing operations to save time and avoid doing things manually. It helps us do more interesting things and spend less time on the mundane. The elaborate analytics and reporting tools yield rich information about campaign performances, enabling us to arrive at data-driven decisions making process thus increasing the scope of bettering our marketing endeavors cumulatively.

In our organisation, we found Salesforce Marketing Cloud Suite to be really beneficial in terms of improving the efficiency of marketing operations and leading towards better customer engagement which ultimately results into a business success.
