"A great LMS System"
4/5
What do you like best about Sakai?

As a student user of Sakai, it provided everything I needed to be connected to my classrooms inside and outside of the classroom as well. It integrated everything students need to be successful in the classroom (grades, assignments, online examinations, etc.). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sakai?

There were frequent errors such as logging out of the system while submitting an assignment or miscalculation of grades. These errors always seemed to be at the wrong time as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Not bad, but I'm sure there are more user friendly tools"
2/5
What do you like best about Sakai?

It's easy to share information and documents. Individual pages are pretty customizable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sakai?

The layout is a little busy. It's sometimes hard to find things. I also had problems when trying to navigate back to previous pages. The software would not let the user visit past pages using the back button. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean, Easy-to-Use Course Platform"
4/5
What do you like best about Sakai?

It is convenient to see all recent announcements as soon as I log in. Also, it is easy to navigate from one course to another--once I am in one course, I can easily look at a variety of materials, announcements, grades, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sakai?

Looking for past sites I was a part of is difficult. Also, the display of grading is sometimes unclear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Used at Michigan as a student and instructor."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sakai?

I used CTools (powered by Sakai) at the University of Michigan as both a student and an instructor. The program served as an easy way to communicate important announcements between students and instructors, share documents, track grades, and facilitate collaboration between students. The ability to record and manage student grades using the tool was probably the most valuable feature for me as an instructor.

Overall navigation within the tool was pretty straightforward, which isn't always the case with similar tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sakai?

The tool worked well overall-- students had occasional glitches with forum and chat pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good but lots of problems"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Sakai?

It is fairly easy to navigate and the links to the pages you need are very accessible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sakai?

The site seems to have a lot of problems with crashing and there were several times I went to use it and it was unavailable due to either maintenance or problems within the site. It also seems as though teachers had some troubles posting things properly, but I'm not sure on who's end that fault is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I utilize the Discussion boards and homework submission boxes the most because of its simple operation and reliability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sakai?

I do not like how big the tabs are at the top for switching from course pages to course pages. I wish I could see one or two more tabs for my classes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Got the job done"
3/5
What do you like best about Sakai?

Sakai (CTools at the University of Michigan) was a great organizational tool for class readings, grades, assignments, etc. Easy to navigate, quick to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sakai?

Some of the features were extremely irrelevant. I didn't understand the difference between Forums and Chat Rooms. Seems like the features exist just to exist - not for any actual purpose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
