"Powerful and User-Friendly Financial Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

The best part of Sage Intacct is its usability. The system is intuitive, allowing users to quickly find the information they need and easily drill down into transactions to identify and resolve issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

One drawback of Sage Intacct is that many newer features are not included as part of the standard platform and require additional licensing or paid add-on modules. This can increase the overall cost as your organization's needs evolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth Transition with Sage Intacct: Easy Interface, Fast Reconciliations, Great Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

The interface makes everything easier. When we migrated to Sage, I was really worried I wouldn’t be able to understand how it works, but the layout and navigation made the transition much smoother. I could find what I needed quickly and move through the system with ease.

For reconciliations, it has improved the process a lot—especially for my accounts receivable reconciliations, which are usually a lot to manage. With a single journal entry, everything was cleared up, and matching bank transactions to the relevant accounts became much more straightforward.

It also integrates easily with JP Morgan bank and with Bill.com, including Spend and Expense and AP. I also appreciate that the reports I need are generated easily—literally just one click away. During setup, we were given practice accounts to review and learn from without the risk of making serious mistakes. Overall, I honestly believe moving to Sage Intacct was a good move for my company because it integrates well with almost all the applications we use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

It has not yet been able to integrate smoothly with Dental inteligence which was recommended prior to migrating to Sage intacct. That the only complaint l really have with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Multi-Dimensional GL and Streamlined Reporting in Sage Intacct"
5/5
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

What I like most about Sage Intacct is its powerful, multi-dimensional general ledger. It provides deep financial visibility and makes reporting more streamlined, without requiring an overly complex chart of accounts. The automation of routine accounting workflows also cuts down on manual errors and speeds up month-end close, which makes it a reliable tool for strategic financial planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

The custom reporting tool is highly detailed and powerful, but it can feel frustratingly rigid when it comes to visual formatting and overall presentation layout. Getting financial statements to look exactly the way management prefers for direct presentations often takes a fair amount of trial and error, and we frequently end up exporting clean data sets to Excel to make the final formatting tweaks. Finance Intelligence Agent (AI-powered finance assistant)

Sage is expanding beyond simple automation into AI agents that can answer finance questions in natural language through Sage Copilot. Instead of building reports manually, finance teams can ask questions and get actionable insights directly from their data. This is one of the more interesting steps toward "autonomous finance."

Close Automation and Close Workspace

Month-end close remains a major pain point for finance organizations. Sage has been investing heavily in automated close management, including Close Workspace, Close Assistant, reconciliation assistance, and variance analysis. These tools provide visibility into bottlenecks and help shorten close cycles.

AI-Powered Reconciliation and Variance Analysis

Automated subledger reconciliation and AI-driven variance detection can reduce a significant amount of manual review work. Rather than simply flagging differences, the system helps users drill into causes faster.

Advanced Ownership Consolidation

For organizations with complex ownership structures, the new Equity Method functionality for consolidation is a meaningful enhancement. It automates accounting for partial ownership and multi-level entities, which historically required a lot of spreadsheet work.

Cash Flow Prediction Roadmap

Sage's roadmap includes predictive cash forecasting and payment optimization based on historical customer payment behavior. For CFOs and controllers, this could become one of the highest-value AI features if execution matches the vision.

AP Automation Becoming More End-to-End

The platform is increasingly automating invoice matching, purchasing workflows, classification, approvals, and payments. Rather than treating AP automation as a separate add-on process, Sage appears to be integrating it throughout the procure-to-pay lifecycle.

AI Trust Label

One feature that doesn't get as much attention is Sage's AI Trust Label. It gives customers visibility into how AI features use data, handle compliance, and manage bias and accuracy. As AI becomes more embedded in financial systems, transparency features like this will likely become increasingly important. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

1. More Flexible User Experience

While Sage Intacct is powerful, some users find the interface less intuitive than newer SaaS applications. Common requests include:

Fewer clicks for common tasks

More customizable dashboards

Better navigation between related records

Improved mobile experience for approvals and reporting

2. Native Planning and Forecasting

Many organizations still rely on separate planning tools for:

Budgeting

Forecasting

Scenario modeling

Workforce planning

A more deeply integrated, enterprise-grade planning experience inside Sage Intacct could reduce dependence on external tools and spreadsheets.

3. Stronger AI Explainability

Sage is investing heavily in AI, but finance teams need confidence in automated recommendations. Improvements could include:

Clear explanations of why an AI suggestion was made

Confidence scores

Audit trails for AI-generated outputs

Better visibility into data sources used by AI agents

This is particularly important for auditors, controllers, and CFOs.

4. Easier Multi-Entity and Global Operations

Intacct handles multi-entity accounting well, but large international organizations sometimes want:

More advanced intercompany automation

Broader localization support

More country-specific tax capabilities

Simplified global consolidations

This is an area where larger ERP suites sometimes have an advantage.

5. Reporting Flexibility

The dimensional reporting model is one of Intacct's strengths, but users occasionally ask for:

More self-service analytics

Easier report design

Richer visualizations

More drag-and-drop reporting capabilities

Simpler ad hoc analysis for non-finance users

6. Workflow Automation Across Departments

Finance workflows are increasingly connected to procurement, HR, CRM, and operations systems.

Opportunities include:

More no-code workflow automation

Easier cross-system orchestration

Better exception handling

More AI-driven process recommendations

7. Faster Implementations for Mid-Sized Companies

Compared with basic accounting software, Intacct implementations can require significant setup and consulting.

Potential improvements:

Industry-specific templates

Guided configuration

Automated chart-of-accounts setup

AI-assisted implementation recommendations

8. More Embedded Operational Analytics

Finance teams increasingly want answers such as:

Which customers are becoming less profitable?

Which projects are at risk?

Which vendors are causing cash flow issues?

Moving beyond financial reporting toward operational intelligence could create significant value.

9. Ecosystem Simplification

Intacct has a strong partner ecosystem, but customers sometimes need multiple third-party products for:

Expense management

Revenue recognition enhancements

Planning

Procurement

Advanced analytics

Reducing the number of required add-ons could improve the overall customer experience.

10. Continuous Accounting Vision

One area where the industry is heading is "continuous accounting":

Transactions classified automatically

Reconciliations running continuously

Variances identified in real time

Month-end close becoming almost invisible

Sage has started moving in this direction with recent AI and close-management features, but there is still substantial opportunity to push further.

Overall, if I had to prioritize three areas with the biggest potential impact, they would be:

AI explainability and trust,

More powerful planning/forecasting capabilities,

Simpler and more modern user experience.

Those improvements would benefit both finance teams and business users while helping Sage Intacct compete more effectively against platforms like Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, and Workday Financial Management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Just switched to Sage, here's what we love and what we dont.."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

Automation has been a big upgrade for our accounting close. Prior to having Sage we had many manual processes that needed to be done but now with Sage, it's effortless and a lot of time has been saved by improving our workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

We were able to get AP processing to work which initially took a few months to get the ball rolling.. however, once this was all set up, we've seen accuracy and speed improvement in processing AP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Bethany McDermott of Sage Intacct

Hi Ailama,

"Highly Customizable Workflows with Smart Rules, Integrations, and Strong Intercompany Accounting"
4/5
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

You can customize pretty much everything, which helps the software work the way our business needs it to. We rely on a lot of smart rules to link data together, and that flexibility makes a big difference in day-to-day workflows. There are also a ton of integrations available. For example, we integrate Ramp for AP and Ripping for payroll. Lastly, the intercompany accounting is great: we can pay bills from any entity, and the intercompany engine handles the work of allocating expenses to the correct entity, regardless of where the bills are paid. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

The fixed asset module is not internally developed, and it feels clunky and not very intuitive. We are in the real estate business and have a lot of fixed assets, and we’ve struggled to find solutions that work well for our workflow. They also seem slow to roll out new features. I understand they are working on a new, internally developed fixed asset platform that will be fully integrated with the Sage workflow, but it hasn’t been rolled out yet, and I believe it has been well over a year—possibly two. What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

What I find most helpful is being able to manage multiple companies within one system and run reports across all of them. The onboarding process was also extremely easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

It’s a bit more expensive than other software. There’s definitely a learning curve, but it’s worth it in the end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible, Easy Accounting with Global Reach"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

I like that Sage Intacct is web-based and can be used anytime from anywhere without the need to log into a proper server. It's very easy to use, flexible, and runs smoothly with minimal requirements, which is great for my team. The software really simplifies the process of accounting and reporting, and setting up reporting is very easy and very useful for creating customized reports and dashboards. It also supports multi-currency, which is a huge help for my global team, allowing them to work effectively across the globe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

We have a long list of intercompany setups, and it doesn't work effectively for us. Also, when updates are brought into the system, it sometimes takes many hours, like three to four hours, which hampers productivity for our team working in India and other offshore areas. So, this time-taking activity creates issues for us sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sage Intacct Streamlines Multi-Entity Accounting with Powerful Dimensional Reporting"
5/5
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

What I love most about Sage Intacct is that it frees me from manual data entry and lets me focus on strategic analysis. The multi-dimensional general ledger is a game-changer; instead of managing a bloated chart of accounts, I can easily tag and slice data by project, vendor, or department with a few clicks. For multi-entity management, it completely eliminates the month-end spreadsheet shuffle by automating intercompany transactions and providing a consolidated view instantly. The embedded AI also gives me huge peace of mind by catching ledger anomalies early and allowing for a continuous "soft close" rather than a brutal month-end crunch. Finally, its open API seamlessly connects with our existing stack like Salesforce and Ramp, keeping all of our financial and operational data unified in one reliable source of truth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

While I appreciate Sage Intacct, there are definitely things that frustrate me. The initial setup and learning curve are incredibly steep; it takes a long time to get comfortable navigating the system unless you are already an expert. The custom report builder is also way too complex and rigid. Trying to create a specific layout feels like a chore, and exporting to Excel removes all the active formulas, leaving me to manually rebuild them. I also dislike the pricing model for add-on features. Essential capabilities like budgeting, advanced inventory management, or credit card processing aren't always native and require expensive add-on modules or third-party integrations. Lastly, the user interface can sometimes feel a bit dated, requiring way too many clicks just to complete a standard, everyday task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Leaps Ahead in grantor reporting, but needs to catch up on internal workflows (reporting, approvals)"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

Reporting capabilities are leaps ahead of the prior software we were using. the capability of creating custom dimensions and the project/grant module have streamlined so much of the work our non-profit was doing manually prior to the switch.

the interface takes some getting used to for anything beyond basic AP/AR/cash management, but once you are comfortable with the menus, it really opens a lot of possibilities, specially with custom reporting and dashboards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

I understand that the point of this software is to skip the use of excel, but we live in a world ruled by the worksheet and intacct lacks direct integration with microsoft excel unfortunately. and every report you download in excel form is not formatted correctly so excel believes it's a website and will try to save it as such.

additionally, not having basic fields like account name readily available on the general ledger as a field to be included on every line in an excel document means that General ledger downloads are really limited to CSV. if the report does not come out of intacct exactly as needed, then there is a lot of formatting that is required still.

Additionally, the dashboards lack a really print-friendly format, if your exces require dashboards but refuse to use the portal and want PDF/printed dashboards, it makes it really difficult to find the right formatting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
