Also, I've found the training that Sage Intacct provides to be lacking in clarity and overly confusing. I often found that after getting confused with a training explanation that the actual process is far simpler to explain to a new user. **Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:** Consider partnering with a company called Platform Transitions who, I believe, will make your migration to Sage Intacct from another system far smoother and faster. Also, ask Sage to appoint a project manager or someone that is very familiar with your current system (e.g., QuickBooks) to act as an "interpreter". A major problem that we had was not fully understanding the Sage Intacct terms being used which led to errors in the migration process. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** SaaS reporting as well as increased automation of day-to-day accounting operations. ### 9. I also encountered technical glitches like the screen freezing while working, the screen going blank while working on the sheets etc. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** it saves a lot of time. it can handle large amounts of data at once so it's easy to work with. it has organized our data which was a mess earlier. ### 11. I noticed that it's extremely slow at loading and RR. If they could fix some of their issues and work with larger accounts, it would be a good software/network for accounting. At my old company, we didn't have Intacct and we would have a more timely process to update the financials and send them out. Intacct helps with that. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** Doesn't work as well with outside programs. I can't add as much to the transaction details as we would like. We would like Intacct to do more with outside programs like Sisense and Certify. It can be restrictive at times. It takes a bit of time to get familiar with the reporting and dashboarding capabilities but overall its not the worst. . Some reports are great but some of them aren't as friendly. There are so many dimensions that exist in this software that you cannot run a report on. Intacct is also not the best with managing cash flow so we use excel still for that. The GL pulls you can't dig into live. I would also like a feature to be added to show simplified income statements and balance sheets so that we don't have to put it into excel to calculate. The bill register and grant sections of Intacct aren't up to par. There also seems to be a fair amount of glitches and errors. I also can't seem to save my GL pulls so that next time I can pull them faster without reentering all the report details and requirements. I also don't like how it logs you out often and freezes from time to time and makes you start over with reports. **Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:** Try it out first **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to generate income statements and balance sheet reports not in excel. ### 18. There is not an excellent support setup to quickly help with specific problems. I solved this for me finally by just trying one of the other codes and it worked. This error message was not a good one and took me 15 minutes to solve. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** I persoanlly am only a user/customer of the timecard piece of the system. the benefit realized is that when I know what codes to use for my project, it is consistently very fast and easy to use to submit my hours. ### 21. Key features I've enjoyed and appreciated are the following: sorting through pending tasks, establishing workflows with various stakeholders, and a very robust audit trail. Varying user access and permissions via groups is great. While I'm not responsible for creating custom variables and workflows, they appear to be flexible and have the ability to really save our staff time. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** Unable to automate certain things without some external tools, plugins, or developing web-hook tools, namely disabling a user's account when they are offboarding automatically on their last day of employment. Being unable to update a username to respect a preferred name or surname is a bit archaic and disrespectful. Establishing templates for user accounts would save a lot of time to get new users the permissions they need immediately. **Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:** The learning curve to getting familiar can be steep, as it's functions and use case are very much determined by a user's role and department. Once you understand the Sage Intacct environment, it's pretty easy to complete your specific tasks quickly, however navigating to new or unfamiliar functions of Intacct often requires additional training or time. Take your time to understand how to navigate between the different menus and be sure to "star" your most heavily used items so you can quickly get to what you need. I'd also like to point out that our instance of Intacct, and I'm sure most, require you to fill in three different fields to sign in, all of which are case sensitive. Due to the sign in being three different fields, saving your password may not always work, or may experience issues whenever you opt to update your password. If your organization utilizes Single Sign On (SSO) you won't experience this issue as often. Get your Intacct Admins to make custom workflows. Test them heavily, and update them regularly. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** My use case in Sage Intacct does not really address or solve any problems. In my role I primarily utilize the platform for understanding how much time off is available to me, my timesheets, however the organization relies on the systems within Intacct to handle invoicing, payments, and all accounting needs. As an IT admin, I simply create new user accounts and disabled outgoing staff accounts within the platform, not any actual accounting. ### 24. Since all of it is managed in one software we are less reliant of compatibility with other software. Import and export of data makes transfer of large amounts of data easy and quick **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** Navigation can be confusing at time and the utilization of fields not working or carrying through. No proper place for tracking equipment and utilization. which can make it almost impossible to know what equipment was being used and by who. amount of users able to perform certain actions is limited and can be bottlenecked at times. **Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:** Make sure that it has all the features you need and utilize a good training program. A lot of out users were not given a compete training program making implementation much more difficult than it needed to be. Because we did not have a complete **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are a service contractor in the Oil and Gas Industry and need to track/charge for different types of equipment sometimes multiple pieces per employee and there is no way of tying those assets together and the invoice detail is lacking. so we are constantly have to go back to the physical documents to verify information and should be able to be found in Intacct. We have to track all of our equipment like it is an employee and are not really using the software as it was intended because there is no equipment tracking module that would allow for us to simplify this ### 25. Having to void and redo the entire process is a little aggravating. **Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:** There is a little learning curve to Sage Intacct but overall it has made my job a little easier and most helpful when having to do reports. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sage Intaact has made it helpful for me to show my Controller what i need to pay by sending a report thru Sage Intaact via Excel. The reporting is fine but not going to alter your world from a Finance perspective. They have a SaaS dashboard you can use but it doesn't look all that good but the content is alright. The recurring report and memorized reporting tabs are better than competitors. Easy integration with Salesforce, albeit not as flexible as it can be but I foresee this changing over the course of time. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** At times the customer services is lacking - we experienced a significant issue with the environment due to a new update release for over a month that stalled our entire operation. They fixed it eventually, but only after some 30 days. The model we use isn't optimized for Intacct which creates friction in processes and procedures. Setting up reports and a reporting infrastructure can be a little clunky at first but once you have the knowledge and done it once or twice you will find ways to optimize. The rollup for departments could be easier to manage and rearrange. The rules of users are not always clear and you will have to find the right mix through trial and error. **Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:** Get a thorough understanding of the day-to-day using Intacct because that can be more onerous than the demo(s) will show. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** Scaling up as a company, we needed more sophisticated software and features than what QuickBooks and SaaSOptics offered. Intacct rolled those into a single environment for contracts, ASC 606, invoicing, etc. We definitely are better with Intacct than prior. ### 27. It's easy to navigate without much training. I like the usage functionality within the contracts module. It saves me quite a bit of time. Intacct is great for small businesses or nonprofits who use only one currency and remain with the states. The functionality seems to handle really well for a one currency, one entity company. It's easy to use. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** I don't like the length of time it takes to fix errors within the system. It can take months to fix revenue issues that impact closing and requires us to open books back months which creates a major risk factor. I do not like the fact that Intacct has issues regarding multi-currency, multi-entity companies. There are many issues regarding allocating funds across multi-currency, especially when trying to allocate bills. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are trying to get Intacct to solve the issue regarding Multiple Element Arrangements and how the revenue is moved between the six buckets. Currently the system does not move the amounts as they should be. It only moves revenue from the lines that have an amount to bill. Once those are exhausted then it starts moving revenue from the lines without and amount to bill which is not correct. I responded the next day with my time zone and that I was available all day. Didn't hear anything back. There is finally a message dated 7/22 in the community, but it was not sent to my email so I am just seeing it now because I went in to get the correspondence trail to send this message. I was getting ready to call Andre, my account rep to see if he could help. I like that I can upload my usage in as little as 30 seconds for multiple clients without having to enter each one manually. I also like the reporting functionality. It allows for a lot of flexibility. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** I am severely disappointed in the revenue aspect of the Contracts Module. Every month I have issues where I cannot post revenue and have to log a ticket. Intacct has said multiple times it is not a user error, but an issue within Intacct itself. It can take months for the issues to be resolved and when they are resolved, we are forced to open our books back months in order to have them apply the fix which is always extremely risky. It doesn't matter how urgent we list the ticket, it can still take months. It is very frustrating that the same issue happens over and over again and yet there isn't a solid fix for it. Additionally, it is frustrating that Intacct is aware the individual revenue buckets are incorrect but currently there is not a fix in the pipeline for this. It can take days to put together a deferred revenue total that is correct. It also sucks we aren't able to cancel a contract with MEA as we have many contacts who alter or cancel their contract and we need the functionality to be able to do so. **Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:** If you are a small business or nonprofit, I would highly recommend this product. If you are a large, multi-entity, multi-currency company with complex revenue, I would not recommend. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** The system works well if you are a small nonprofit or privately run company with only one type of currency. However, if you are a large company with complex revenue and or multicurrency, then the system doesn't work very well. The reporting is nice and allows for a lot of flexibility. Custom reports take a day or two to learn, but after you learn how to create custom reports and custom fields, you can quickly export to Excel and perform lots of great analyses. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** Prepaid, PP&E and contracts modules are lacking and lose some functionality if you have entities with different base currencies. Customer service is kind of poor - case resolution is slow and some seemingly simple functionality (like freezing the columns on HTML reports) is not available in some cases. **Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:** Avoid Intacct if you have multiple entities with different base currencies and avoid the contracts module (for ASC606 reporting). Be aware the Prepaids module and fixed assets module are lacking - though they do a decent job, it was like they were created by someone who never had to account for either of these types of transactions. We can tell they weren't part of intacct originally and seem to be added on after the fact. The prepaids, fixed asset and purchasing modules will work most of the time, but sometimes there is a glitch and it doesn't work at all which create a headache that I don't need, and takes me extra time trying to communicate with support what is wrong. The multiple currencies was not up to par as well. We use 4 different currencies besides USD and it seems to us that this software was not developed with multiple currencies in mind as some areas and modules show up in USD instead of the originating currency. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** I like the ease of use in running the G.L for specific queries. I find it easy to search for what I am looking for and nail down to the specific entry or invoice etc that I am looking for. WE used to use Quickbooks Enterprise, and over time it slowly degraded, so we decided it was time for a more robust software. With Intacct, we are able to perform tasks for all entities without logging out/logging in all the time. The rollup of all the entity financials is very helpful, vs exporting several reports and combining them manually. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** Some abilties seem very random; you can enter bank accounts at the top level and select them from each entity, but a charge card needs to be assigned to a specific entity and you can only see it at the top level or the entity it was assigned to. You can import credit card charges, but not checks. You can see and create invoices for all entities at the top level, but you cannot create a deposit at the top level (combining payments from a customer for clients/invoices in two entities). Definitely rooom for feature improvements. **Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:** Do your research and definitely do a trial environment first to see if it works for you. Also we specifically asked if Intacct connected with Connectwise, as we would not purchase a system that didn't sync with Connectwise. We were assured that it would, and DataBlend could make it work; sure, but it took several months and it appears they want about $30,000 to design something we were assured would work and that they can now use for other clients.
