You shouldn't have to log in to a system to submit a case and to see the last communications. Additionally, 90% of the time they try to pon you off on the technical team that charges $250/hour and most of the requests are basic, should be standard within any accounting system. Also, once in an agreement, and at renewal, they are sticklers about removing things you had never used. Last, they continue to cancel partnerships and make the customer convert to a new partner which is a headache, creates more work and at times its more costly. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** None that I am aware of ### 2. Sage Needs Smarter GL Filtering and More Complete Exports **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026 **What do you like best about Sage Intacct?** To be honest I am only passive towards Sage - saying what I like best about it would give off the impression I really enjoy a certain aspect of it, which is not the case. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** I think the filtering in Sage needs work. for example if I want to search for a specific GL account, I can only start from the beginning, I cannot type in a word in the GL account name. Additionally when a GL account has no activity for the year even if it started/ended with the same balance, the GL export just doesn't include this account. Why would I want a GL export with accounts missing, even if there is no activity in the year? it doesn't make sense. I also get logged out if I stay away from my computer for a bit of time. The GL filtering I mentioned above is also the same when I want to look up entities - I have to look it up from the beginning otherwise it will not work. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is a large platform than quickbooks and allows us to quickly view all of our entity data ### 3. I really find the multi-entity consolidation feature to be the best part. It efficiently handles consolidation and currency conversion in real time, which is perfect for companies with multiple legal entities and different currencies. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** The back end support is really poor in my experience. It's very hard to get ahold of the team, and every question requires a one hour development call, which is an add-on cost. I really don't like the support. The support is a bit lacking from a people perspective in the beginning. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Sage Intacct for real-time consolidation and currency conversion for our multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. Implementation process through Sage was a horrible experience that we are still paying 3rd party vendors to fix. The dimensional structure scales better than the row-based reporting we came from. AP automation and the approval workflows have also matured nicely since our last review, and the audit trail and role-based permissions have made our close and audit prep noticeably cleaner. Integration into our broader stack has held up well. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** As we've grown, a few limitations have become more pronounced. Report building is still harder than it should be — anything beyond the standard templates takes real effort, and we've hit a practical ceiling on the number and complexity of custom reports. Performance also degrades when we run large data volumes or heavier consolidations, which slows the team during close. Cost is the other piece: per-user licensing plus the add-on modules add up faster than we expected as headcount and scope grew, and it's hard to forecast the all-in number. Updating historical data — the pain point from our last review — is still cumbersome. None of these are dealbreakers individually, but together they're the reason the rating slipped. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sage Intacct is solving the disconnect between Sales and Finance. Since we've integrated Intacct with Salesforce, it has been much easier to identify discrepancies and abnormalities regarding bookings numbers. ### 6. If someone is off sick or on holiday leave, it's very manual to change the PO approver department, rather than being able to put them on 'holiday' and getting it to go to someone else. The initial setup was quite time-consuming, and the test system wasn't quite usable to be able to test properly. There were a lot of things Sage Intacct didn't tell us about setup, which caused a lot of problems which we are still having to fix two years later. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sage Intacct solves cloud-based system challenges with consolidated functionality. It is nice only having to do one single journal entry instead of multiple to balance transactions across our 18 entities. It also helps streamline a lot of the other accounts payable and receivable processes. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** The implementation process. They were partnering with NPact at the time of our implementation. We had 4 different representatives throughout the process. I do believe they are using a different company now... Npact did not listen to what we needed. When we met with the new rep and had to explain our business processes again, we were told what our previous rep advised us on wasn't possible and had no effort made to rectify the situation. They did not show us fully how to use the features needed that were included in our package to be trained on and also marked off that they imported our customer records on the implementation checklist but did not do it until we requested multiple times. We were also handed off to Sage support without signing off that implementation was complete and only found out after emailing our representative about issues and being told they could not help us and we needed to contact support. We also have not had a good track record with Intacct customer support. They push you to look in the community or help articles that do not give entirely accurate steps to resolve the issue. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** Intacct solved our multi entity reporting. ### 13. We implemented it earlier this year, so have been using it less than a year. Once I figured it out, it is fairly easy to submit expense reports. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** I definitely had a pretty steep learning curve when trying to figure out Sage, specifically when we first switched over from our prior platform. I couldn't really figure out where things were. I still have a bit of a difficult time accessing prior expense reports that I have submitted. With frequent usage it still takes a lot of getting used to. I like the feature "Enchanced List" **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** With the New Release, I no longer have access to use the "Enhanced List " on "Posted Payments"; this made searching for a payment so much easier, especially when looking for a check # specifically, there was no more back and forth to see the information just had to select my client, then select the split screen to be able to see everything that I needed and now I don't have that opinion? Entities, classes, items, any dimension you want to create. You can create very customized reports. The UI is somewhat customizable to show you the information you'd like to have at the ready all the time. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** Navigation is difficult. There's not one screen you can see all vendor or all customer information on. Figuring out which module controls which setting is tough. The customized reports and balances have to checks to ensure all your P&L accounts are added or that your balance sheet balances. It's expensive and to really get the features you want for automation and efficiency, you have to pay for add-on modules. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps us separate lines of business and prepare reports for department budgeting. ### 29. It is not easy to integrate with outside programs you have to go through a complicated process anytime you want to integrat someting into Sage Intacct. Sage is not easy to use it's contracts module is overly complicated and cumbersome, the canned financial reports available in Sage intacct are mostly useless and usable ones are hard to format. Lastly the implementation process was a very painful experience. Usin Sage intacct every day is helpful but that doesn't change what I dislike about Sage intacct. **What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?** We out grew our prior accounting software and needed something more robust, we had a good subsctiption management package but we needed an underlying accounting package hence we went with Sage including their contracts module. honestly the data we can get out of the accounting module is more robust but the contracts module not so much. **Official Response from Bethany McDermott:** > Thank you for your honest feedback. I do like the Sage community as it gives several avenues to solve a problem yourself before submitting a ticket. The contract module for automated revenue recognition is very effective and runs well on it's own when set up. **What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?** It is not as user friendly as it could be and there is some reports that should really be pre-loaded instead of making you build them. Specifically there is no P&L report preloaded that allows you to run custom date ranges, instead you only can pick from a dropdown of preset periods. Software implementations always have issues but I feel it could have been better.
