## Sage Intacct Reviews
  ### 1. Avoid Sage Intacct

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel C. | CFO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

There are very few user friendly aspects of Intacct, the ability to consolidate multiple financials quickly is something they do well.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

1. You never know what's not going to work next. Every month Sage has a new issue when trying to produce AIA style billings.
2. They claim there is one standard cost code for all jobs, this is beyond a lie. Every single job in the system has its own set of cost codes that you have to manage. We have around 400 actual cost codes but have to manage over 800,000 thanks to how they have this set up.
3. The GL interface is extremely clunky and slow for user input. They don't allow you to copy the job or the entity down so you have to input on every transaction line. Their default setting doesn't work unless ever line item is going to the same project because every job has it's own set of cost codes.
4. Researching in Intacct is slow and difficult, if you've used Sage 100 in the past this will be a huge down grade
5. The Interactive Custom Reports are a joke. Who designs a report tool that you cannot display what information was pulled in the report? What job is this, what time period, any cost codes excluded? You'll never know once you hit print.
6. Naming conventions are not consistent; there is no consistency between the names used on the Object list and what is used in the Custom reports which makes trying to build out your own reports difficult. Which is a major issue as the system comes with no stock reports.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Causes lots of problems, doesn't really solve any.

  ### 2. Difficult Setup and Cumbersome Payment Process

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I appreciate Sage Intacct for the 'create and matching rules' feature, which removes a step in the process for me, especially with recurring transactions.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Overall, Sage Intacct is cumbersome to use, and the implementation was difficult. Below are the main issues, grouped by area. Usability and screen limitations: Many screens do not let you widen or sort columns to view all details or export to Excel to check for errors (the OE transaction definition screen is one example). Columns should be adjustable and sortable everywhere. Transaction editing: The system locks down transactions at various points, so you cannot edit a GL account, department, or other dimension without creating a separate GL Entry that cannot reference the original transaction via hyperlink. Once you have paid a credit card statement, you cannot edit any of the credit card transaction's GL account, location, or department. You must create a GL Entry that cannot reference the original transaction, which risks duplicate correcting entries and a clunky audit trail. The prepaid module cannot generate prepaids from credit card transactions and thus must be created manually. The financial reports set up by the implementation team are layered with unnecessary account groupings and classification. Users have to map items to item groups to GL account to GL groups to financial statement groups...high likelihood of error. When you add a new GL account, you tell the system what kind of account it is and where it belongs. But if the financial statements were set up to only extract certain accounts and this is outside that group (no error to the user), it will cause the financial statements to run that are out of balance or don't foot. At a minimum, the system should identify accounts with transactions missing from the statements and include an "unidentified' account to flag the user. Receiving and applying payments is cumbersome and slow. For transactions coming through the bank feed, the user should not have to re-enter the transaction date, amount, or payor on a separate screen. QuickBooks' AI recognizes recurring transactions and asks the user where to apply a rule in the future to eliminate this step. In Sage, you must manually create the rule, assign it to a rule set, and work across separate screens. The system does not recognize which modules are configured and hide the inactive ones. For example. we don't use purchasing or inventory. When setting up an OE item, it requires you to link it to an Inventory GL group and then also to a GL account. We do not use warehouses, yet every transaction still shows a warehouse field. Finally, when new releases come out, Sage doesn't update production to highlight these new changes and point them out /highlight them to users who haven't read the release notes. If there is a release for a change that must be made to your configuration, it should be identified on a company-specific list of things to check/verify.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sage Intacct for accounting, mainly to create month-end financial statements. It removes a step in recurring transactions by creating and matching rules, saving me time.

  ### 3. Complex to Navigate, Impressive Scaling

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ilke H. | Operations and Finance Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I appreciate Sage Intacct's ability to process large volumes of data, which is crucial as our company grows and our revenue increases. The consistent accuracy in billing our members from around the world is reassuring.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I find Sage Intacct not very user-friendly. It feels like only a Sage expert can use it effectively. For example, using printed document templates for invoices is challenging. You have to find the correct merge field to use in Word documents, and there's no way to see how the invoice will look until you send out a test invoice. The initial setup was also terribly difficult, and we're still struggling with it.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct lets us split revenue and expenses into two accounting spheres and solves billing and dunning problems.

  ### 4. Ok product, horrible customer service model

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like that I can easily see which bills have been paid. The reporting is also good and makes it simple to review everything at a glance.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I don’t like that AP automation isn’t native, and the PO functionality is basic. There is no AI functionality. Performance is basic. Sage doesn't provide support and also they don’t talk directly to customers and won’t allow us to shop around for the best pricing through their VARs. Anytime we reach out they email the VAR and ask them to respond. We are their customer this is a horrible model. We’re currently stuck with our VAR. We do have a good relationship, thankfully, but if they were providing horrible service, Sage doesn’t give us an outlet or an option to switch or shop for pricing, which is unacceptable. For this reason, I’ll be recommending switching from SAGE within a year.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improved visibility, along with better general ledger and AP access, as well as integrations with Workday HCM and Tipalti.

  ### 5. Challenging Implementation with Limited Advantages

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lily S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I find the AI capabilities in Sage Intacct useful for solving issues. When we run into roadblocks, we can utilize these capabilities to fix the problems.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I'm not loving Sage Intacct so far. The implementation has been very difficult and slow, which has slowed down our daily operations. I would have liked to be fully set up by now. The integration for Procore was working well but stopped after a while and is stuck. Reporting has been hard to get correct. Setting up the program has been a roadblock, and the initial setup was very, very difficult.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integration for Procore was initially effective but got stuck. The AI capabilities in Sage Intacct are useful for fixing setup roadblocks.

  ### 6. Complex UI Hampers Usability

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devan M.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I use Sage Intacct for accounting and project finances. It allows us to track our project finances. I like that it works most of the time.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The UI is extremely difficult and not intuitive at all. Everything is geared towards accounting and relies heavily on accounting jargon, so someone who is not in accounting has to do a lot of leg work to figure out what everything means. Reports are a nightmare, and it looks old, not cute. The initial setup was quite difficult, taking months and months of setup calls, design, and revisions to get it to work the way we want. I hate that you can't copy-paste Excel cells into the native UI, it's very frustrating to have to upload everything.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct allows us to track our project finances.

  ### 7. Difficult Implementation, Unintuitive Reporting, and Too Expensive

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Nothing that i have found so far. Implementation and getting work done has been difficult

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Not the easiest to use and the report design is not that straighforward. Its expensive

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am yet to find that one out.

  ### 8. Fast Payment Runs, but Overall Disappointing

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like how much faster it is to do a payment run with Sage Intacct compared to the old system. It really helps with time management.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

It actually really doesn't solve too many problems for us. It seems to be slow for being web-based. The initial setup was difficult. We had to push back the 'go live' date by a year.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Sage Intacct speeds up the payment run process compared to our old system, helping with time management.

**Official Response from Bethany McDermott:**

  ### 9. Sage Intacct Review

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The AP Bill automation is great for the most part.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The Sage employees that should be able to help us fix and figure out things have been pretty much useless on things that they should be able to help easily with. We have had a ton of issues with the way that our company was originally set up, most issues that would have been handled if we had been properly guided in our implementation process.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There haven't been many things that they have solved that we have had issues with. We have had to figure most things out ourselves.

**Official Response from Brock Faucette:**

> Thanks so much for providing this invaluable feedback. So that I can help, please let me know if you purchased Intacct directly through Sage or through an authorized reseller. That way I can make sure the appropriate support team gets this feedback and we can hopefully reach out to support better going forward. My email address is brock.faucette@sage.com.

  ### 10. Sage Intacct Review

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Absolutely nothing. This is not progressive, impossible to navigate, research, edit, find. It is the worst accounting platform I have ever used.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Everything! Reports - even standard have to be built. If you omit a GL account in error... your P&L is wrong and you wouldn't even know it! Trying to find anything is impossible. Everything appears a "batch" item so you have to open every transaction to see what is was. Example - you drill down on the PL account to see what posted to this account. you have no idea! you have to open every transaction.

Don't get me started... nothing is intuitive - it is a total waste of time!

I hate Sage!

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything is wrong about Sage! There is nothing good about it. It is the worst!

**Official Response from Brock Faucette:**

> We're devastated that you're having this experience with Sage Intacct. This definitely isn't how the vast majority of our customers feel. Please reach out to let me know if you purchased directly from Sage or from a reseller because I'd like to get you some training and support if you'd like: brock.faucette@sage.com.

  ### 11. Powerful Software with a Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The software is comprehensive and has a wide range of features for financial management.

It offers robust reporting capabilities once you learn how to use them.

The cloud-based access is convenient for remote work.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The user interface is not intuitive and feels outdated, making it difficult to navigate. There's a steep learning curve for what should be simple tasks.

Basic functions require too many clicks and navigating between different modules is not a smooth process.

Correcting mistakes or making simple adjustments is overly complicated due to rigid controls. Customizing reports is difficult and time-consuming without significant training.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct has been instrumental in our ability to scale our financial operations as the company grows.

**Official Response from Brock Faucette:**

> We're crushed to see this review but are so grateful for your feedback. Feel free to email me, brock.faucette@sage.com, if you have specific examples about improving the UX/UI and also where training could be better to reduce/eliminate the learning curve. I'll gladly share your feedback with the appropriate teams. Thanks again for taking the time to review us, and we're committed to getting even better.

  ### 12. Archaic, non-intuitive

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna J. | Director of Finance and Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Nothing. I dread logging into Intaact each day. It's like going back 20 years to an old, outdated system.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The entire user experience is lacking - poor design, non intuitive, overly complicated. The fact that we have to go through a 3rd party consultant is insane to me and shows how they don't want to empower customers to be able to use the system on their own.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as our accounting software - for financial reporting and AP.

  ### 13. Implementation Partner - FAIL

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Being able to access more than one company

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Intacct is NOT the best ERP solution for retailers. Expected greater efficiencies upon implementation and we received that in some areas and in other areas...not even close. Too many work-arounds. As a retailer we have a formidable number of returns and exchanges. Intacct process to account for such is extremely cumbersome and illogical. Reporting is a D+ at best. Be prepared to create your own reports from scratch.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to import specific vendor invoices and sales invoices from our practice management system vs the prior process, which was strictly manual.

  ### 14. This platform is not intuitive and offers no assistance for new users not familiar with SAGE.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The most helpful thing thus far is that windows saves my password for me. It looks to be a useful platform.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I cannot find any support concerning how to receive ordered items, and then assign those to a specific job. There are no "step-by-step" guides. I have to watch videos to find out they are unhelpful.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage does not benefit me because after two hours of instruction, I have no new skills, and am unable to perform the duties of my job.

  ### 15. Worst Implementation Experience

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melody N. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The contracts module is helpful for SaaS companies. It is not very customizable though so you have to have your contracts setup the way Sage Intacct is set up.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The GL & Accounting portion of the ERP is dated and the implementation of the ERP was awful. We encountered several system bugs that took them weeks to find out. We ended up going live a month late due their issues and they were unapologetic for the issues this caused us. I have never had such an awful experience. The sales process was difficult and we ended up being promised things would work with our structure that wouldn't and we had to develop our own workarounds in salesforce for the Advanced CRM to work properly.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier & more efficient Revenue Recognition & Billing

**Official Response from Bethany McDermott:**

> Hi Melody, thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'm sorry to hear about your experience ask that you kindly contact your customer success manager or our customer support team to discuss how we can help. We want to ensure your satisfaction and do what we can to resolve your issues.

Thanks,

  ### 16. This application is too excessive and bulky. UI is awful

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The only thing I really like about this application are the security measures in place to create an approval process for entering bills or making payments.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

There is no easy way to see everything in one place such as a customer's account (payments made, balances open on invoices, invoices open) This should all be on one screen. You should not have to run reports to see all of this information. The UI to this application is awful compared to Quickbooks. There are way to many steps to take to find basic information. The reports generation is also cumbersome and too manual. There should be standard reports and shouldnt need to be custom generated.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bookkeeping, Projections

**Official Response from Bethany McDermott:**

> Hi, thank you for leaving a review for Sage Intacct. It would be great to connect you with our Customer Success team to support you and your team further. Please drop me an email at bethany.mcdermott@sage.com to see how we can help.

  ### 17. Not pleased. It's not ready for prime time.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JOHN R. | John Russo, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like the idea of it, but it falls short of delivering a functional system.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Deployment cycle is overly complicated, in part due to extent of customization available. Easy to get delayed, set back, or completely stopped due to excessive customizations that aren't well supported.

Lack of onsite deployment support is a significant drawback.

Requires significant time allocation by staff for at least 6 months prior to Go Live date. Our process took over 12 months and produced dissapointing results.

Reports are terrible, shockingly bad.

Lack of native payroll functions is a significant gap in functionality.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows for a chart of account with more depth and drill down capabilities.

No productive benefits have been realized.

**Official Response from Gill Symington:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Sage Intacct John. We're happy to hear that the software has been beneficial in reducing the time needed for invoice approval and providing easy access to financial and statistical reports. We understand your concerns about the deployment cycle and lack of onsite support, and we are constantly working to enhance our services to better meet the needs of our customers.

  ### 18. Better than nothing, but not by much

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

simple, lack of intuitive use and guidance for futureproofing

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

not simple enough, opening relevant data seems to be a chore

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

general ledger

  ### 19. Not a good fit

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fishery | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Clean interface; AP entry and editing functionality

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Inflexible; Too complicated; No native payroll module.

One of the biggest complaints relates to our operation as a not-for-profit in which we basically have one main department for revenue, but several departments that only have expenses. The inability to differentiate between a department/location code for the balance sheet side of an AP entry and the expense side caused a ton of headaches.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We initially moved over to Sage Intacct because support for Dynamics GP was ending.

**Official Response from Bethany McDermott:**

  ### 20. Sales and CRMs are a disaster - Go get SAP - better price + better software

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tysen G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

SI product costing is a fantastic tool, and the fact that it can support most multiple sub-ledgers at a reasonable price is a huge plus. The Inventory Control module has been a massive help for us, but only does stockable FIFO kits and does not allow for routings or for bills of materials to build standard costs which is a huge draw back for what you get when you pay for SAP.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The assets module needs an update, and the inventory kitting feature seems to have a lot of bugs, but all are still useful for the price of Sage Intacct. SI also needs more short keys to match the productivity of other systems like SAP. Performing a bank rec is all done with clicks and takes what seems to be an eternity.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct allows us to book our inventory movements by category which has been very useful in defining our waste, shrink, and cycle count losses in our products. That has been a nice feature compared to Quickbooks online but for 63k per year you should just go get SAP One and have an actual product cost module.

Intacct pushed us to use an integration team which had no idea how to manage this entire module correctly and we have rebuilt it in a more dynamic way... but it still underperforms vs the marketplact.

**Official Response from Gill Symington:**

> Thank you leaving a review Tysen. We apologize for your poor experience with bank reconciliation and BoM. We will also pass on your feedback regarding the Sage Intacct assets module and your integration experience, thanks for bringing these points to attention.

  ### 21. Great product, terrible, terrible, terrible support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The product is wonderfully built. The support infrasturcture is terrible.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Where to begin? The customer service model is an absolute failure and has been for a year. It is very difficult to get a hold of anyone. Multiple phone calls go unreturned, or receive a response via email instead of return phone call, usually asking someone else on their team to reply to a question. It's a strange way to shirk responsibility, but it's constant.

Their billing department sent unverified claims for fees that they could not support but continued to invoice every 30 days with no justification. It's borderline harassment and should be reported to the BBB.

We attempted to make payment for a balance they said was due, then they returned the payment and suspended our account 30 days later with no explanation or forewarning. Truly appaling way to treat a long-standing customer.

To say that the company's support model is a failure would be an understatement. It has actively subverted our business objectives for some time, and I could not recommend a single company use them unless it is fixed. Which is a shame, because the product is really strong.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct is actively creating problems through poor service delivery and an incomprehensibly bad A/R department. It is a profound irony that a company that built accounting software cannot produce any justification for a claimed A/R outstanding balance for months on end. Truly offensive.

**Official Response from Gill Symington:**

> We apologize for the negative experience you've had with our support Joshua. We take your feedback seriously and are working to improve our customer service model to better meet your needs.

  ### 22. Very disappointed

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Rev recognition module for SaaS. Nothing else.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Support is terrible. Sales people listen to you, show you all the bells and whistles and then when you push back on pricing, they sell you something that won't do what you asked for. They give you pages and pages of details on the sale in a tiny font that is very hard to dicipher. Long story short, you spend thousands of dollars for something that won't do what you wanted.

Reporting modul is terrible. Forget all those beautiful dashboards that they present on the website and in presentations, it is virtually impossible to get those.

So disappointing! Meetings with many people that at the end of the day, do nothing.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rev rec module is helpful in GAAP reporting.

**Official Response from Gill Symington:**

> We're sorry to hear about your experience David. We take your feedback seriously and will work to improve our support and sales processes.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

- It's a fairly comprehensive ERP
- lots of complicated modules

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

- Love being nickel and dimed - then you'll love Sage Intacct. Everything costs more.
- misleading sales process where functionality shown exceeds what they put on the quote.
So, you think you;re getting something you arent, until you pay more.
- non-existent customer success

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none

**Official Response from Gill Symington:**

  ### 24. Over promises, Under delivered

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage offers excellent UI, and for basic accounting and managing multiple companies' books and records, it's an excellent out-of-the-box experience. If during the sage demo, sage can walk you through EVERY process you currently do, and they actually show you the process instead of telling you it's possible or scheduling a call with a company that can customize sage for you will be happy with their product.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Ensure that all necessary tasks are completed before entering into a contract with Sage. It is crucial to have the Sage team address your specific system requirements before committing to their services or consider exploring alternative providers.

Customization in Sage is similar to NetSuite, so be prepared to pay a premium and negotiate a favorable contract upfront if their out-of-the-box solution does not meet your needs. It can be surprising that some Sage representatives may not possess a thorough understanding of their own system and may suggest solutions that are not entirely effective. If you engage their Professional Services team, be aware that it may take a week or two to begin working with them, and the quality of their work may range from unsatisfactory to average, at a $250/hr rate.

Unlike Microsoft, where you can find a variety of skilled developers at different price points that can deliver, locating affordable Sage developers can be challenging. The high hourly rates are not the primary concern, but rather the dissatisfaction of paying for partial completion of a task. Unfortunately, the customer success team at Sage may not be very helpful, as they might lack knowledge about their own platform. Therefore, do not rely solely on their customer success team or Technology services team to deliver.

Hindsight, I would have approached this entirely different or went with an entirely different platform had we known what we know now.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage 300+ companies in a single instance, which is nice. If only it didn't take three years to get us unboarded on the platform, we may have benefited much more than we have.

**Official Response from Gill Symington:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of Sage Intacct. We will pass your feedback experience to our teams to review sales, implementation, customization and support operations.

  ### 26. Ehhhhhhh

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Very very intuitive product. The Sage Intacct Support team is also very very helpful with any issue or problem you may encounter when operating on their system.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The prepaid module seems to have the most errors when using in the system, but the support team is very very helpful in resolving any issue or problem a user may be having.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct is definitely saving the company time and money in regards to the monthly close process. It really speeds up the amount of days it takes our company to close.

  ### 27. Start-up - Do not use Sage!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugene G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage is an inferior product to NetSuite, Quickbooks, Workday, Oracle, SAP, Great Plains, you name it. The implementation is a very poor process and the preferred partners recommended by Sage are terrible. Creating reports in Sage is not intuitive and is unlike any other accounting system out there.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The customer service is terrible. The team (Kendall) is nice at the beginning but later on if you want to change anything on your service she turns off the friendly face and becomes an adversary. Sage is a very poor product, what makes it worse is the service, and the implementation process is pure. If we had to pick a system again we probably would have gone with Netsuite, Xero, MS 365.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was a nightmare implementing this system and their support is horrible.

  ### 28. Clunky, Cumbersome, Inconsistent

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Integrations with banks, payment platforms and other system configurations are relatively straightforward

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

So many clicks to get the informaton you want (e.g. match a bill and invoice), no way to reallocate credit card payments, every module allows different levels of customization of tables, reversing payments done in error is a huge pain, so many clicks to get anywhere and tie two records together

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not many, lots of clicks, clunky

**Official Response from Gill Symington:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for your experience of number of clicks and customization. We will pass your feedback to product teams and explore further.

  ### 29. A new learning experience.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The standard SOP for most tasks is not set, so you get to learn how to do things as often as you like.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I dislike having to redo my work because of the numerous errors that constantly occur.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They say that they are fixing many issues. I guess we will see how that pans out.

  ### 30. Great Service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Ability to drill into accounts and finding out what is going on. I enjoy that there is easy availability of features to make analysis and work efficently and competitively.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Lack of ability for advanced analytics analysis. There is very little ability to extract data or reports that bring meaningful value to the analysis that my business prepares.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is our primary accounting software. Having everything in one place is great.

  ### 31. Frustrating

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like that it catches duplicate bills and that you can see status of bills at a glance from the search screen. I also like that you can view multiple companies at once.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

You can't fix anything. If you're not 100% accurate with your input, you can't correct check numbers. I don't like that employee expenses are in a completely separate field from bills, even when printing checks. The fact that you can't correct a bill when it's in pending status is ridiculous.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It doesn't really solve anything for me.

  ### 32. Timesheets are faster than competitors, but visually hard to navigate and could use improvement

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I think its great that Sage is quick and fully online. it didn't take long to get used to it

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The note system in timesheets is annoying, and it's hard to keep track of all different tasks.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

timesheet managment and project management

  ### 33. Software is just ok.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The sage support team has been very helpful and responsive to our needs.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Doing a single task takes multiple steps in a highly time-consuming fashion. It is not a very streamlined experience.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

  ### 34. Complicated, charges for support including issues from new releases very slow to get answers back

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David A. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

History and audit trail to see who did what and the ability to limit access

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Limit transactions from warehouse, slow responses, charged for support from reseler for a cloud based solution. Top and Bottom cause issues, can't delete

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is creating more than it is solving

  ### 35. Absolute garbage

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

There is nothing to like about SageIntacct. It is bloated, cumbersome, and difficult to use

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Got nothing right with this product. Even journal entries are difficult to do. No formatting available for financial statements, bank reconciliations don't work, creating the reports we were promised is exceptionally difficult. 100's of data options not used is not necessary.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None? Was the closing and reporting cycle too fast? Is that a problem?

**Official Response from Gill Symington:**

> I am sorry to hear that Sage Intacct is not meeting your expectations.

  ### 36. Least User-Friendly Accounting Software I've Ever Used

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like the collaborate feature on PO requests. I had a very hard time learning this software and that feature made it easier for my supervisor/approver to ask questions/make edits and I received updates to my email real-time.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Almost everything else. Aesthetically, the system is very drab... I know it's accounting so it's not supposed to be super fun or sexy, but everything sort of runs together at a certain point. The language used for prompts isn't always clear. Another big issue is that you aren't able to make edits to a PO request once it has been submitted. In the early learning phase of using the software, that creates a lot of problems and takes up a lot of time to re-submit a request.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Specifically, I use Sage to reconcile monthly ad spend on our social media platforms. I have yet to use it for mileage/expense reimbursement, but that will also be something I do in the future. Finally, I use it to submit PO requests for our annual/quarterly vendor subscription renewals.

  ### 37. Mark your weekly calendar for an outage.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

It does the accounting, and is popular enough to have some decent connectors.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Goes down for several hours without warning every Friday at 7:30 Pacific Time. No "save your work" warning. Not on a weekend day, not mid-month when you're not prepping for close, not at 2am. Every Friday, 7:30pm. Reports are limited in their flexibility, with no option to include desired detail. Basic functions like amortizing expenses or adding a PO to a sales invoice are missing unless add-ons or third-party solutions are purchased. Otherwise, these all have to happen in Excel or Acrobat.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to work late most Fridays. Getting kicked off mid-JE without warning is helping me pursue a better work-life balance. Now I get to wake up Saturday morning and start from scratch instead. That's literally why I'm leaving this review on a Saturday.

  ### 38. Does the basics however should be improved for better navigation and extracting basic info

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aziz A. | Founder, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

PROS
- Overall the Sage Intacct Timesheets does the job where I can easily fill out timesheets and submit them.
- The timesheet start date will reset to the start of the week if I enter it incorrectly √
- In the list of all the timesheets, I can quickly see which of the timesheets are approved/in-draft/

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

CONS
- I have to click 3-4 times till I get to the page where I can fill out my timesheet. Why can't my first page be about the timesheets I am supposed to fillout.
- The place where I see the timesheets does not show the summary of the DATEs and TOTAL hours worked. I have to manually click to check which timesheet is which
- Timesheet page page cannot be bookmarked. I cannot save reference to a particular timesheet since those links are not bookmark-able
- It does not tell me who is approving my timesheet, the status summary and timestamps are missing.
- It does not show which timesheets are overdue. I have to manually create timesheets every week. Ideally I should just be filling timesheets which are set for me

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I fill out timesheet for a consulting assignment I am on.

  ### 39. Buggy and unintuitive

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Ability to create views on different pages.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Integrations are unreliable. We've had lots of problems with AmEx vendor payment service. Contracts module has bugs at least every other week, and is very unintuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:**

Get a complete demo to understand exactly what you're going to have to do for a variety of situations. When asking questions about capabilities of the system, don't just stop at a "Yes" answer. See how you have to make it happen. While you can make the system do certain more complex things (one example - billing to different entities within one contract), it's often done through a workaround, which isn't scalable.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primary reason for upgrade was to automate revenue recognition for a SaaS company. This part seems to work well once you work through bugs to enter the contract in the system.

**Official Response from Andrew Sevillia:**

> Hello and thank you for taking time out to write this review. I would like to help you with the challenges you outlined in your review. can you please reach out to me at andrew.sevillia@sage.com?

  ### 40. Disappointed by the lack of capabilities, automation and advanced functionality

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The system is fairly quick to open up and process data. We have moved from multiple Quickbooks files, and the Intacct interface is like working with software on your local machine.

Intacct does allow multi-entity functionality, though it seems a bit contrived.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

We have just finished our implementation after a number of months. The process was not great at all. Once the system was configured, we realized that the implementation team had left out some vital information about how the system works, and we essentially had to redesign everything and go live a month later than hoped.

We had three different implementation specialists during the process. It was started with us filling out "use case templates" with little explanation and no real relationship to the way our company does business. That process

Now that we are using Intacct for just over a month, I have realized that it lacks some basic essentials. These are truly intuitive aspects that one would expect in a system that promotes itself as one that promotes better efficiency and workflow. Nothing is automated. NOTHING

Intacct cannot import bank transactions,. Each payment made and received must be entered into the system manually and individually. Previously in Quickbooks, I could enter a full month of transactions in a matter of a couple of hours. This is a significantly more burdensome process. I will either have to hire a new accountant or pay for an add-on service to simply get back to the level of productivity we had with Quickbooks!

Our company is a healthcare company with thousands of customers. We receive batch payments from insurance companies, but there is no way in the system to receive payments from one party (insurance company) and apply the payment to another party (the insured customer). The only solution we have been given by sage is to enter a credit memo for the payer and a debit memo for each of the customers in a batch. This is triple the burden that we had in Quickbooks. Again, we probably will need to hire another accountant or two or purchase some third party application to facilitate the payments we receive.

Customers can be set up as parent-subsidiary, but there doesn't seem to be any advantage in doing so, because there is no actual relationship other than the ability to create a custom report that sorts parent and subsidiary. Even that process is so complicated that you need an IT specialist just to write the report.

The only way to import transactions is by journal entry. The problem with this is that Journal entries don't affect AR or AP. So, if you have dozens of payments received and import your bank data by journal, then your AP and AR agings and subledger won't tie to your GL anymore.

Sage seems to over-promis and under-deliver. The sales team eliminated some modules of the system in the sales process in order to make it cheaper than the competition. At this point, we have spent around $60,000 for implementation and the first year. This is a big investment for our company, and we are already having to solve significant problems because of the limitations of the system and create work-arounds.

There may be some limited solutions to these issues, but we have been warned that anything offered by Sage to provide a work-around or solution is going to be very expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:**

You need to do serious due diligence on this system. Don't let the sales team try to gloss over anything. If you are looking for automated processes, you should probably look elsewhere. This is more manual processes than Quickbooks. In some cases, the functionality is much worse than Quickbooks!

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have not been given any satisfactory answers to the dislikes mentioned above. The only benefit we have realized is the ability to generate combined (not consolidated) reports.

  ### 41. Not Correct Fit for Our Industry

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Military | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Dashboard if we could get it to display the correct info we need

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

This software is not the correct fit for a blue collar Truck Equipment business. The functionality and ease of use are not effective in our industry. This software seems to have been designed for accountants

**Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:**

Please tell your sales teams that this software is not the correct fit for a blue-collar truck equipment biz

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accurate numbers/Reporting - NO benefits. P&L's are not accurate. Implementation company for Intacct did not do a good job. Data corrupted. Chart of accounts not set up properly, etc, etc

  ### 42. Intacct Customer Service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan G. | Staff Accountant, Media Production, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

gall the different tools to make accounting processes flow better
project module to track profitability on each sole project, ability to customize modules, recurring transactions AP/AR

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The customer service is a joke, I have been in contact with them since May on a JE that was created in the future in a different currency which causes major issues. They keep telling me they are looking into it, but it is now December and still we cannot reconcile our books for the year.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:**

a lot to learn at first, but once you get your feet under you the system can do almost anything you want. Great to be able to customize certain things to minimize errors.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BLOCK THE SYSTEM FROM MAKING FUTURE JE'S IN A FOREIGN CURRENCY
efficiency, that you can track budgets to the task on projects
recurring billing option saves time to get our customers there bills in less than a day, AP as well

  ### 43. Good product - No support

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ty M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like the cloud based system and the robust reporting options

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

We went through a long drawn out Salesforce implementation and then they dropped off the face of the earth. We have no idea who our account exectutive is.

We just visited their booth at Dreamforce and expressed our concerns. Hopefully it won't fall on deaf ears and they will reach back out and try to repair the relationship.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accounting and reporting.

  ### 44. Poor customer service after the sale

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

They are wonderful until they get the sale

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

No support after the sale.. Once they were paid no support.. cant even get an email returned

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

accounting

  ### 45. Non-standard User Experience Means Painful to Use

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Like is a strong word. I appreciate that our finance team needs this process for compliance and other reasons, so if I want my vendors to get paid, I must use this software.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I dislike the fact that when I click the paper clip button, it doesn't mean attach like it does in most other online apps. Gmail, Hotmail, Dropbox, etc. all use the paper clip to mean attach.

Attaching a document, which is a very common use pattern, as every request requires supporting documents -- requires multiple clicks which is inefficient and irritating.

Purchase requests can be made for $0 which is inefficient and adds extra time and cycles.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage Intacct:**

10/10 Would NOT recommend.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is a business problem for me, the user. This software is a net negative on my life -- purchasing and payments takes longer, visibility into the procurement process has decreased and the product generates frustration and other negative feelings with each use.

I am a fairly technical person, as a product manager in the B2B tech space.

**Official Response from Sameera Kelkar:**

> Hi there - thank you for sharing your experience. Customer satisfaction is extremely important to us, so I'd like to learn more about the challenges you're experiencing and see if there's anything we can do to help. If you're open to it, please reach out to Sameera at reviews@intacct.com.

  ### 46. Not my favorite accounting software

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Web-based software and storage allows me to log in from anywhere, any computer -- a crucial ability for my very mobile office; importing ability of large journal entries and budgets

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Reporting abilities are extremely limited and must be tweaked for each new report I want to see--a time consuming task! I can't edit certain transactions after posting and must be reversed then re-posted even if the change is to the description (fund transfers, voided checks, etc.). Software does not allow me to have an integrated platform with the multiple functions I need in order to keep my nonprofit running so my team has had to purchase 3-4 other large organization management tools that don't play well with each other.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Budgeting and financial stewardship of a large nonprofit with multiple funds. We've been able to keep our two main operations (two different entities, really) separate pretty easily and within each of those two branches, we been able to keep sub-funds.
